Venice Castle Home Stay

Perfect location in Alleppey, very good rooms, and mainly very nice people / family.
A very nice place to stay!

We loved our 1 night homestay with this lovely family. Room was comfortable and spacious. Binu was very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and substantial. The homestay is in a quiet area but so close to the shops and various eateries which is just what we needed.

Very nice environment and family friendly. Breakfast is included and is made fresh, as though you are sitting and having dinner at home, plus there is a lot of options for what they will make for you. Otherwise rooms are pretty spacious for 2 people. The family has dogs/puppies that are really friendly, but will also leave you alone if you would rather not interact with them.

Matthew is familly is very welcome and makes you feel at home. Their rooms are a great value for money and have the most comfy beds I have slept in in India.

Venice Castle was an amazing experience. Couldn't have asked for a better stay at Alleppey. It was super close to backwaters home boat as well as other markets. Food was great, and most importantly the people at the home stay - every one of the family members treated us like extended family. My daughter fell sick and they helped us take good care of her. Overall, it was a heartwarming experience.

The word 'homestay' is apt for this place. Within a day you'll feel being a part of their family. Every member of the castle have great etiquette and they'll try to help you whenever possible. They arranged us a shikara boat ride at a discounted price even during the peak season. The 2 big Labradors (Julie and Nacho) and 7 puppies, birds, and fishes are special members of the family. Even if you are afraid of dogs don't hesitate in booking a room at this place as they are quite trained and won't trouble you.  The food is delicious. We wanted to have local cuisine, hence they cooked Idiyappam for us. The pineapple juice provided along with breakfast is refreshing.  The home stay is close to the boat jetty. The home stay is located at the end of a narrow lane (Innova can easily pass through). None of the members is money minded.  We had arrived quite early before check-in time but rooms were made available to us early without any extra charge. (Just let the owner know beforehand if you have such timing issues, they'll arrange the rooms if they are vacant). Also, while booking we booked an extra bed but didn't ask for it during the stay - result- they did not charge for that extra bed. Both rooms and bathrooms are clean. Hot shower, AC, everything is in good condition. Speaking of infrastructure, they have a beautiful balcony and also the aquarium made by them using used tyres which is quite innovative. Extra points for hospitality. Special mention to Akhil and Shreya for creating lovely memories!

Fabulous Friendly Family!
Homestay hosts were exceptional. They made us feel very comfortable. Great breakfast with flexibility for differing tastes. Spacious, very clean rooms with good Ac and fan as well as good water pressure for cold or hot showers. Best location in town opposite ferry dock. Good local advice. Customer service is well beyond anything we have experienced in India. Afternoon tea on the upstairs veranda overlooking quiet garden. They even went out on a bicycle holding an umbrella, in monsoon rain to get us an auto rickshaw so we could go out for dinner! Fantastic home cooked food by 79 year matron of the house. Matthew assisted us with various suggestions on how to navigate the floods in Kerela. The 2 Labs Nacho and Julie were equally freindly.

Super freundliche, familiäre und saubere Unterkunft. Organisieren Flughafentransfer und Ausflüge in den Backwaters. Vom vergangenen Hochwasser sind keine Spuren mehr zu sehen. Ein Aufenthalt lohnt sich.

Really nice place, rooms are spacious and clean, we hear the birds in the morning. Hosts are great and the breakfast is delicious! I recommend.
