Chandigarh Botanical Garden

One of the best garden of chandigarh. A lot of plants there not only normal plants but medicinal plants are there.clean and have parking space there.

Botanical garden is very huge garden but it is not developed as per it should be, it have various fauna and flaura, and it should be developed as tourist destination or amusement park of chandigarh

1. Large area.
2. Running track.
3. Lots of Greenery.

Best park to spand sum time.

Very serene, biiig place, but a bit crowdy for walking in the evening. U won't find lot of varieties of plants but u can have a peaceful time here. The place can be better if maintained well like the grass is not Trimmed etc,

It is the best place to experience the true nature very calm and greenery all over place.you can see a lot of different species of plants and trees, also a lot of peacock seen there.everyone must visit this place.

Nice place but still needs lots of decorating and attractive things inside the park. One day it will be a landmark of CHANDIGARH

It is one of the best and complete Garden Chandigarh has. This park is full of natural plants and once anyone enter the park, the fragrance of nature attracts everyone. In it one can see that nature has given so much to us and it is one of the best place to get along with the family.

Chandigarh, the ‘City Beautiful’ situated in the foothirlls of Shivaliks is blessed with a climate that is suitable to accommodate number of species of flora of different climatic regions. It is worthwhile setting up a Botanical Garden here with a purpose to conserve the flora of the region as well as those exotic and near extinct species. With this background, Chandigarh Administration has established a Botanical Garden near village Sarangpur. This garden spreads over 176 acres of land.

The foundation stone was laid on 30th May, 2002 by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) J. F. R. Jacob, the then Administrator, U. T. Chandigarh. This garden has been connected with the nature reserve known as Patiala-ki-Rao forest through a causeway. Patiala-ki-Rao forest spreads over 350 acres of land. Gen. (Retd.) Dr. S. F. Rodrigues, the then Governor of Punjab & Administrator, U. T. Chandigarh, the champion of the cause of environment and keen nature lover, guided the project through his constant inspiration and guidance. H. E.inaugurated the garden on 2nd January, 2007. This garden when fully developed would be one of the biggest in this region.

The garden consists of 15 Botanical Sections. The primary aim of setting up of Botanical Garden is to promote research, education, ex-situ conservation and to spread awareness about our floral heritage. In addition, the garden would help promote eco-tourism in Chandigarh.

Park area is very vast, but not maintained properly, needs more take care.otherwise its very adventures place

Absolutely beautiful, but the trees need name tags. What's the point of a Botanical Garden if one can't identify the species.

One of the greenbelt of Chandigarh which is a home to many birds. This garden is one of the well maintained garden of Chandigarh. Chandigarh Municipal Corporation is doing a wonderful job

Very best garden which stretches over a large piece of land. Very lovely place. Good for morning walk, running in the evening and Very suitable for Yoga Lovers as they can find a plenty of spaces where they can Practice yoga Without any noise or any one disturbing them. I was amazed to see such a good park which runs on renewal energy and one can witness the Nature to a very good extent. Flowers.trees. Paonta. Medicinal plants. Spices. Lotus.what not. I recommend this place not only for Morning walking but it is suitable for picnics as well.

The tym I spended there with my beloved was totally awesome.and the best thing there to see are peacocks.and also the people who came there are good.ty botanic garden

The place is huge! Great place to take a walk in the morning and in the evening. Occasionally, we get to see peacocks here.

Best park in Chandigarh. Here you can enjoy different kind of tree that have herbal property. One can also enjoy the silence here as this garden is huge and full of silence. Must visit in early morning or evening to enjoy sunset / sunrises

You can educate your kid by showing them different types of plants and trees.
An small lake is also there, where you can see ducks.
Here you can see different types of solar cooker.

Nice garden.spread in acres.good for the morning and evening walk. Equipped with parking facility. Free entry. But no cafeteria.

Best place to go for a walk and exercise. You can find almost every medicine tree can be found here. In the morning it appears that the dew on the grass is glittering. The Verity of flowers are amazing. A wide Verity of birds can also be seen here. A good place for photographers.

Awesome! The plantations here gives friendly environment, walking route throughout this park give accesses to every visitors. I really like this place

Ofcourse its a good place its nature garden. Good for jogging walking nd yoga. But their is only one issue, about the couples they came over here and do unexpecting things nd its not good enough. The administration should be concerned about ths. Last week i was their for morning walk but their is a couple who is hanky panky with each other its so embarassing coz their is other men and women nd uncle nd aunties standing infront of them. So the security guards have to be more alert about ths.

A cool place. More than 100 acre wide park with many things for every age group. Trees of different types. Lush green parks for children to play. Big huts and watch towers to relax. One artificial lake and wells. All natural energy sources model like windmill, solar plant etc. Cactus garden and lotus park are very cool.

Nice. It consist of many trees flowering plants medicinal plants etc. Good area for walking.lots of area for parking. No ticket charges. Best for cycling. I loved it.

Awesome place. Very good for walking jogging and running. This place is very refreshing at early morning. Almost every type of plant is plated here which make it more and more beautiful. This park is so vast which is a rare thing in a city.
