I came here for a 3 week long training and I had an incredible experience. The staff is very qualified and take their job seriously. There's no compromise in the education they provide in the Open Door school and also during sessions.
They spend a lot of time recycling materials to make teaching materials and structured activities. I'm so inspired to do the same.
The BEd and Diploma students are so fortunate to have such incredible hands on experience; they're not just learning the theories but also have the best practicals.
The occupational therapists are so qualified and there are plenty of resources available for the children to work on their motor skills and more.
There's AVC where the adults with autism are assisted by some staff to work on vocational activities and they're learning to become financially independent. They sell handmade handicrafts and more. They sell tea on Preorder basis and provide room delivery (₹10).
There's a canteen that serves very delicious affordable food too (Rs 40-50) and the menu changes every week.
They have their own publications and in different languages, the books arr available for sale in their reception. I bought one (in picture) and I finished reading it in one sitting because of the simple language they used, if you want to know about Autism and you find it hard, you should read that book.
The best thing for me was the parents who put their efforts in learning about Autism so they can raise their children well. Whenever I would observe the sessions I would very often be fascinated by parents who would take notes, raise questions, learn what to do and what to avoid. I learned that many parents have opted to take the Bachlor and Diploma course AFA provides and some parents are working there too. It's really good to see good parenting which stems from true love and acceptance.

There's a small playground, pool, gym, library, computer room, lawn and plenty of washrooms.
The children in the open door school have music and cooking classes too. Incredible!
I hope to come back to learn from them again. Kudos AFA!

My findings of this company is that their staff gives poor quality service overall and I don't find this a very reliable NGO in an overall sense. I find Nidhi and the rest to be very unreliable and cold as staff members and their behavior often does not make sense.

And they have literally changed the name from "Action for Autism" in English to the Hindu title, so that no one can discover the bad reviews on their Google page.

The place feels more like a home for autistic individuals. Courses and trainings offered by Action for Autism prepares not just the individuals with autism for life but also their families.

They don't know about autism. As a mother when I entered with a lot of hope the first thing they tried to impress upon me was that there is no hope of recovery. Although evidently there are cases of recovery. Next they give a form where they wish to assess the family income so that they could squeeze money accordingly. I know more about autism than these people do. Very bad experience. Please be careful don't waste your time and money.

I am not happy with the attitude of staff. They don’t provide full classes to the scholarship child with Austism. On the other hand those who give monthly fees is well taken care off.
