In the green park market, they have limited seating spread on to two floors famous for their sweets. If you wanna experiance South in ndian filter coffee this is the place.
Satvik ghee Pongal, delicious tomato coconut chutney and amazing sambhar at a budget price. One of the few places that serves Pongal & piping hot meduvada.ps: white coconut chutney needs to be less bland.can be improved for sure.:)
One good thing that I find about most of the South Indian restaurants is that they welcome you unlike many North Indian restaurants which sometimes make you feel that they are feeding you for free. The food is good and the staff is courteous. Friends ordered South Indian thali which was good with a good portion size. I ordered plain dosa and it was good. Someone near me ordered a rawa dosa and it was looking tempting.
This has been my 'go to' restaurant for many many years. Provides good north indian and south indian food at great affordable prices. I havent had idlis softer and better than theirs anywhere. Other special mentions would include butter paneer masala, gol gappe and pav bhaji. Also, don't forget to take home few packets of madras mixture namkeen when u leave. They are soooo good. Trust me they make the best 'madras mixture'. 4 stars instead of 5 only bcoz i think its been too many years since their renovation and they need to upgrade the interiors a bit.
Dosa was simply waste of money. Dosa was made of just half of batter like paper. Sheer waste of money. They did not increase quantity of batter even while placing another repeat order. Otherwise quality and taste was ok
A2B is worderful place where you can get South Indian food with high level of purity and a good level of hygiene. Moreover, If you want to experience the ultimate level of taste of south Indian food, you may visit the A2B outlet in Mysore, Karnataka (near to Mysore Railway station).
Very good South Indian food. North Indian food isn't too good as per North Indian taste. Service is a bit lethargic. Parking issues. Otherwise, the place is great.
Really bad experience! Even though the restaurant was completely empty, the staff didn't care about what the customer wanted and took their own sweet time getting the food, despite several requests to hurry. After serving didn't even offer why it took so long and went on about standing in a corner. The manager was also present at the till and didnt offer any help. When asked for the feedback register said he didn't have it. Very casual attitude of the staff and they way they handles the customers. DO NOT RECOMMENDED!
A neat & clean uptown restaurant that specialises in south Indian cuisine but offers north indian food as well alongwith all kinds of snacks and sweets.
I've always been a fan of A2B since I lived in south for sometime and always enjoyed food here.
But this place has a very bad staff. We had a booking because of which we waited for 30 minutes. We got our name written and waited. The person let around 8 people ho before our turn. On asking he mentioned that they are managers friend and went to talk to him l, not to eat food. People kept going like this.
On confronting, the same response was given and when we asked for talking to manager, we were told that manager is busy.
Better to avoid this restaurant just because of poor service and staff. Better to go for restaurant which values you as customer.
Best spot for veg cuisine.foods u Must try from here are pongal, ghee roast, puri dosa, and adayar ananda bhawans special chowmein.almost all the items are good here.
If you tasted in Chennai a2b then you will get same taste here.sambhar and other taste same here.price wise little bit costly.but if you are a2b lover then it's worth it.
Yet another place in Delhi where you can savour some authentic south Indian food. I have been to this restaurant, located in the upmarket Green Park, south Delhi, several times earlier too. I like the food and it's preparations. AMBIENCE: First impression is very important and this restaurant doesn't score much. It has a simple outlook that doesn't give you any impression of being in a south Indian outlet. There is no decor as such and no south Indian music playing. Yes, get to shelves filled with south Indian namkeen packets and pickle bottles. There are south Indian sweets on display and sale alongside north Indian counterparts.
FOOD & PRICES: When you do not get a hitting ambience you look for some good food that satisfies your taste buds as well as fills the tummy too.
Talking of taste the Adyar Bhavan scores well.in fact, four stars. When it comes to quantity it scores two points only.
We had mix veg Uttappam. We got two small size pieces along with sambar, coconut chutney and gun powder chutney. It was soft by could not fill the stomach of my better half who already has an appetite that matches a small kid.
Let us talk if south Indian fixed menu Thali. It comes with a wide variety of South Indian vegetables, a choice of either two puris or two chapatis, a bowl of rice and a papad. The restaurant seems shy of giving good servings and that is why, perhaps, puts up small steel katoris (bowls) for the vegetables. Since it is fixed menu food you cannot expect refilling and therefore have to manage puris and rice with all the stuff that you have in front of you. This is the difference between Karnataka Sangh outlet in R K Puram and Adyar. In Karnataka Sangh you are served vegetables in large katoris that fills the stomach and allows you to have a taste to your fill.
The dosa, most common food item on demand, is crispy and has a tasty potato filling.
NORTH INDIAN FOOD: The restaurant also offers all north Indian food stuff and Chinese food to cater to the needs of the complete family. I have seen lots of children opting for regular chowmein and Manchurian. You also get all varieties of chaat minus aloo tikki.
Since the servings are small or do not fill your stomach well, if have a good appetite or if you are very hungry, you cannot do away with single dish. You have to order more and that inflates the bill. The prices match any other restaurant but it is quantity that makes the whole difference.
ONLY VEGETARIAN: Adyar Bhavan serves on vegetarian food. So don't expect those non veg dishes with Chinese food etc.
DISLIKE: The restaurant serves food on yellow colour plastic plates which I didn't like at all. Another thing I disliked was reluctance in giving second serve of sambar or coconut? Chutney. We asked for sambar and it took more time than expected to reach the table. Then we had to ask for chutney again. Otherwise, what happens in other restaurants is just the opposite- the waiter keeps an eye on you and serves the sambar/ chutney much before you could ask for it.
A good place to taste south Indian food at the end. Good and safe place to sit with your family in a sober atmosphere.
Nice place to have south indian food. Have plenty of MCD managed parking over the roads. But need to improve waiters behaviour. They are very lethargic and no proper response over the table
Ordered their tomaro rice and south indian thali both were very nice. Authentic south indian flavours. I visited their pondicherry branch also. Tastewise both are same.
The place serves varied option of South Indian cuisines but nothing is WOW as the taste is average, in fact I was surprised to know that they were not having 'Rasam in peak winters. The staff is not at all welcoming, der is no liveliness in staff.
As a South Indian boy i am pleasantly surprised to taste authentic Sambhar here. I had the South Indian meals and it was very good given the 200rs price tag. The mor kuzhambu was lip smacking good. I will definitely come back with my wife for more.
It's a decent enough multicuisine family restaurant, but it's frequented by the locals for its Chat, Murukku, and other sweets and snacks available on the ground level
One of the best places in Delhi to eat. If you really want to taste the authentic flavors of south (pure vegetarian), then this place is an absolute wonder. Feels like traditional homely food. And such humble management. Being a South Indian, and having eaten my mommysm best made food, I've whole heartedly cherished every menu here and felt very homely. Much much better than other South Indian restaurants. A must try for the Southern food lovers.
This is a restaurant which was at it's best when it started but now the quality of food as well as the service has gone down. Prices quoted for the food served are not worth it. We ordered a onion rava masala dosa which should ideally be the best item of any south indian restaurant but here the quality has now degraded. Space on second floor is a hell lot smelly as sweets are cooked there. But guys if you really want to eat authentic south India food in Delhi. Saravana bhawan is the best place to go. If you don't believe me try it out at A2B. Best of luck!
An average place in terms of food, ambience and service primarily famous for South Indian food. You may find a paid parking spot nearby the shop.
We tried their Rawa Masala Dosa and South Indian Thali. Dosa was okay nothing great about it with nice Tomato and Green chutney but coconut chutney was quite bland and tasteless. Sambar was also decent.
Thali surely looked good and part preparations were good and rest were just average.
Ambience and Service could surely improve a lot too.
Very neat and clean place. Had samosa chat, it was super good, it came along with Chole and 2 samosa pieces garnished with onions and Sev, very tasty and filling. They have good offerings in Thali also, specially South Indian one. Overall a good family place.
I recently purchased sweet box for our office.everyone liked the south indian variety of seets. Bought 10 box to distribute having one laddu 2 ghee mysore pak and 2 big jaggery which costed me around 150 rs.was really delicious.
Decent place to dine. Located in prime Green Park Market area of South Delhi. Ambience is average at best, but quality of food is good. I've tried North Indian and South Indian at this outlet, was impressed by taste. They also serve Chinese, but I've not tried it yet. The staff you'll find is typical old school and won't bother much about your presence. I would suggest taking a delivery option from here and avoid dine in.
One of my favorite haunts at Green Park market. They have d most amazing chats and bhels, with jaw dropping quantities.it's difficult for one person to finish off a plate by herself! They also have the most amazing ice cream sundaes and really tasty filter coffee
One of the Worst Places Bad Service & BAD FOOD: - Vada Stone Cold, Butter Milk full of Salt, Fresh Lime too Sweet and Dosas Cold. Inspite of Voicing my Concerns at Various Stages of Delivery of Food and to the Manager the Response was Arrogant Attitude and Take it or Leave. I should have have gone to the Homely Madras Cafe Next Door.
Best place to eat, tasty food with reasonable price, you must try gobi manchurian with noodles, parotta with kurma and special mysore pak, if you plan to eat chinese then this the best place.
The food is Good but the service is slow. You have to wait for approximately 20 - 25 minutes before your first meal is served. The washroom stinks. Needs to be cleaned every hour or so. But the food is Good. So it's up to you to go or not.
I have been to adyar Anand Bhavan in jail road which was pretty good. Since.its closure I tried the one in green Park. The sweets, snacks, namkeen corner is good and have maintained the quality throughout the aab chain. The restaurant is average and the food is just at par. I would recommend people to go to Sarvana Bhavan if they want to have really good South Indian food. The AAB in Delhi is not as good as other franchise in Tamil Nadu.
Attitude of Owners not good, forcing people to go up even ground floor seats are available Also not neat and tidy. Food good. But Dosa was over fermented with sour taste
Nice place to hang out with family. Pros- 1. Separate seating for meal and for sweets 2. Prompt service 3. Delicious food 4. Hygienic Cons- 1. We went near closing time. The staff started switching off TV and fans even when we were having the meals, which was rude.
Excellent vegetarian restaurant. Basically south Indian chain of restaurants. But their north Indian dishes also excellent. They have a separate section for sweets. Mostly south Indian sweets. The two upper floors are exclusively for restaurant.lunch times are quite occupied here. Sometimes it can even take up-to 20 mins before u can get a seat.
Very oily throat choaking food ultra gaestro food needs nutrition validation and mending of ways with the times This is not 1942 that ppl can digest such oily food you do not suit a South Delhi green park based location - pl discipline yourself - thanks
Adyar Ananda Bhavan is a chain of restaurants from South India. I have been to Adyar Anand Bhavan in Green Park, Delhi which was quite good. I feel that the seating area is quite crowded as well as the tables are so close to each other. I have been there on a working day as well as on a weekend every time I found this place a crowded one. That's not an issue. The waiting time was 5-10 minutes. I really didn't like the staff and waiters they were lost and busy in themselves. Food was taking much time and after that billing. That's why holding back my 2 stars for service and space. Food was good. If you love Chinese food must try Chowmein and Manchurian Balls.
Staff should be polite. Also proper hygiene should be maintained with timely bill payment.clean plates, table, chair etc should be there. Also cockroaches should not be there.
Great place, reasonable pricing, good service. Awesome south Indian food, have been a regular here for quite many years now. One of the best in South Delhi for South Indian food. Great vegetarian experience, would always love to come back here.
I had bought food and paid Rs 300 against my bill of Rs 242 and the Cashier says I had paid only Rs 250. And alleged how can i PAY Rs 300 for bill of Rs 242. After argument manager Mr Balaji came and checked CCTV FOOTAGE and found me correct and then he realised wht wrong Cashier had done. Very very wrong aTtitude. I felt harasses and self respect for a hit. This is not acceptable for a restaurant in such posh locality to behave like this. Very rude very ARROGANT, DISRESPECTFUL
INVOICE NO CR1947/3204 DATE 07APRIL2019 TERMINAL NO SW1427
South Indian Thali should have varieties of vegetables. I found only potato. Further more, the quantity they provide was not satisfactory for the money they receive. Vegetables varieties in south Indian Thali was very very less. If this sustains then Adayar Anandhabhavan in New Delhi will face decline phase for sure.
Nice place near Green Park Metro station (pure vegetarian) and have a huge sitting to entertain the costumes. Order Dosa along with Badam Milk and no complaints. The Manager really took the job and make you feel comfortable while waiting for a table to be settled. Quick service and hygienic environment.
Anyone Visiting this place should definitely try "Milk Mysore Pauk". I know this chain since childhood. I didn't know they had a branch in Delhi. 5 Stars for maintaining the taste and quality.
Adyar Ananda Bhawan is a Chennai restaurant serving authentic south Indian delicacies and a range of North Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine to cater to the masses. Apart from the salty savories, i would rate their golgappas and samosas as excellent. The kuzhi paniyaram is also good and so are the dosas. South Indian sweets are good too. Amongst the savories, the pepper thattai, rajapalayam thattai and ribbon pakoda are my personal favorites. The lemon pickle is also good and not to forget this place also stocks filter coffee powder with chicory in 100 and 200 gm packets.
Awewome south indian cousine, they have such a finest range of Namkeens completely different to experience and explore. All in all a must visit. Their sweets are pure and best to.
It is a sweet shop cum restaurant. The sweet shop is on ground floor. The restaurant is on the first floor. South Indian snacks and filter coffee are very good here.
Great experience of North Indian Food. I have been to many A2Bs at Tamil Nadu and it is known that the South Indian food will be exotic. I have been to Delhi and thought of having North Indian food and it was very very good.
Known as A2B. Food is nice. Good option if you want to try authentic South Indian. Sweets are really nice. Try Mysore pak. Also their a2b special namkeens are really good. North Indian thali quantity is very very little, they have extremely small sized bowls for everything so pls make sure your hand don't get stuck while dipping your dosa in sambhar.
