Well maintained and immaculately clean temple located at buzzing RK Puram, a famous residential area in South Delhi. The response of staff members are warm and welcoming too. It's quite vast and beautiful. Prasadam is quite good The temple authorities organise pilgrim trips to Sabarimala in Kerala. There are many Malayali shops (പെട്ടിക്കട kind) shops outside the temple to have some hot tea and vada
Best place to experience true South Indian Temple experience of peace, calmness, spirituality, cleanliness and discipline lacking in North Indian Temples
Sri Swamiye Sharanam Ayyappa! The Ayyappa temple is a sacred oasis nestled in the heart of Delhi, offering easy accessibility from every corner of the city. This divine sanctuary comprises several significant facets that enrich the spiritual experience.
Within the temple precincts, you'll discover the Ganapati mandir, Hanuman Mandir, and Mata Mandir, each contributing to the spiritual tapestry of the complex. The ceremonial Naga Pooja adds to the sanctity of this revered place. Additionally, the temple boasts an auditorium where a variety of cultural activities are regularly conducted, fostering a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
The temple's surroundings are equally enchanting. A vast, sprawling lawn adorned with lush green grass provides a serene space for contemplation and relaxation. Adjacent to this verdant expanse, a canteen beckons with a tempting array of South Indian delights, including idly and wada, crafted to perfection according to their daily menu. It's an opportunity to savor not just the divine, but also culinary pleasures.
Unlike bustling streets, the approach to the temple is tranquil, offering ample parking facilities for devotees and visitors alike. However, it's important to note that cameras are restricted from entering the inner sanctum, where the temple walls shimmer with ornate brass and gold embellishments. The Dwaja Sthamb, the majestic flagstaff, also stands adorned in resplendent brass, evoking a sense of awe and reverence.
In this sacred abode, another cherished tradition unfolds – the Thula Baram ritual, further deepening the spiritual significance of the Ayyappa temple. It's a place where faith, culture, and tranquility converge, inviting all seekers of divinity to experience its unique allure.
South Indian temple. Built in the traditional style. Parking lot available nearby the temple. For poojaa pay at the counter near entry gate and submit the pooja basket with receipt at the sree Kovil. Everything seems to be systematic.
Temples in Kerala differ much from that in other parts of India. For malayalees who miss the ambience of temples back home the Ayyappa Temple in R K puram this is surely a godsend. For the time you spend here you will surely forget that this temple is anywhere near Delhi. It's well managed by the trustees, with poojas and festivals followed meticulously with pomp.
The serene Kerala styled setting serves to take you back home for the time you spent there. It's also a great place to meet fellow malayalees. I regularly visit the temple with my family on Sundays morning. The temple also has a small cafeteria that serves hot and delicious idly and Vada. Must say that the parippuvada is just absolutely crispy and yummy. Just perfect after a blisssfull prayer.
Sacred place. So peaceful temple. Located in the heart of RK Puram, Delhi. I have never visited Ayyappa Temple before but after visiting this temple I will try to visit here often
"Swamiye saranam ayyappa " 1) delhites are fortunate to have darshan of lord ayyappa swamy residing in delhi. 2) this place is really a boon given by lord ayyappa swamy to his devotees. 3) This place is a visual and spiritual delight. 4) the temple authorities and priests are working to their best for the welfare and comfort of the devotees. 5) I request the management to kindly provide a small refreshments facility on week days also (atleast tea and coffee). "Swamiye saranam ayyappa "
Such a serene experience I had while visiting the temple. It is different from most of the mandirs in North India. The infrastructure and the culture is same as in Kerala. The authority and the devotees are all malayalis. This place is a must visit if you miss Kerala. Any weekdays would be better to avoid the crowd.
A decent sized temple that's kept the authenticity of a South Indian temple. It is well maintained and clean. Has a hall for celebrating various functions and a lawn where prasadam on select occasions are served to the devotees.
Love this ayyappa temple.reminds me of kerala customs.dat chenda melam.and when annadanam is there after all the devotees have eaten.the temple management opens the doors for small childrens from slum who get to eat good food.was happy see this.instead of wasting the food.they used it for a good cause.that shows how pure and good people they are.
Swami Sharanam! Beautiful and peaceful temple. Offerings and pujas can be booked online on the Temple's website.
Parking is available in the parking lot next to the temple. I would strongly recommend that no visitor or devote park their vehicles on the road. That creates a ton of problems and traffic issues during peak hours.
A must visit to all Ayyappa devotees who visit or are living in NCR. The Lord is seated here as an amruthakalashdhari. Giving the divine nector pot from one hand to the faithful. Devotees and there is no bar on the age group for ladies to visit him. A must visit for all Ayyappa devotees to experience divine presence in the first and foremost Ayyapa temple of NCR of Delhi. Swami Sharanam
If you are a devotee or you would like to participate in the temple culture of Kerala, then it would be a good place to visit. And be sure that you wont make any disturbance to the calm and divine atmosphere of the temple premises.
Built in typical Kerala temple architecture style, this temple dedicated to Lord Ayyappan, is wonderfully well maintained! They also have a small, well maintained lawn inside the temple premises, where you can sit and relax. There's also a small auditorium inside the temple complex where religious discourses are held! Overall, a fantastic spiritual experience awaits you in this temple!
Good peaceful temple. Sitting in the Ayyappa Park after visiting the Temple gives peace of mind and releases your stress. Festive season has different celebrations in the temple. I am very fond of Ayyappa temple and Guruvayoor temple We should get a kerala feel their, that atmosphere making me as now I am at kerala.this construction of temple is as like kerala temples.
