Really basic: electrical plugs not working, doubtful cleanliness, noise, breakfast finally not included… but smiling team and nice area

I stayed at this property for 3-4 days. It was perfect, rooms are clean and pretty. Location is good and people here are very friendly and helpful. Cafe vale bhaiya makes amazing chai too. Thank you!

First, I selected Bed & Chai regarding localisation in the city. Then I appreciated the staff kindness, they provide me a lot of advices How to manage m'y 3 days step in Delhi.
If you are Delhi first comer (from Europe), I recommend this one.

The guesthouse is located in a posh area with a very delicious cafe adjacent. The rooms were clean and matched the pictures online. We stayed in the guesthouse at the beginning of our stay. After the first four nights we decided to book it for our last days in Delhi again. The main reason was that our host Alfred was great company after long days in Delhi and Agra. Alfred made sure that everything is in order, which is why we felt very welcomed. In the end of our trip through India it felt like coming home to bed and chaï. Alfred could provide us with great advises for our sightseeing plans.
I can definitely recommend this place and people!

We really like this place, is clean and comfortable. The images of what it shows are real, and also the location is perfect. The neighborhood is chill and nice. The stuff is really friendly. We totally appreciate our stay here. Thanks for everything

My stay here was very average, my room was super big. But no the nicer or cleaner, but ok. The breakfast also was average.

Alfred is the nicest person. The whole place is very cozy. Safe area. You have the best café downstairs, blue tokai and suchali.

Alfred the front desk guy was pleasant and easygoing, he managed to book the room for me, and my wife even though we had booked it and it got canceled because we didn't have any international sim card. Thank you once again to Alfred. The cook guy was friendly he allowed me to enter the kitchen so i that I could cook Oat milk banana for my wife specifically how she wanted. The housekeeper guy was very helpful since there is not lift in the building so helped me carry my big luggage. The interiors are shuttle and desi style. Hot water, a Decent clean room and bedsheet, a quiet environment inside the property.
Bed&Chai is the only place that I would love to stay whenever im in Delhi.

Stayed there for one night before heading to the airport early morning and it was just what I needed: clean, simple but comfortable room in a quiet area of Delhi. It is a bit more expensive than your average hotel for this standard in India though.

I had an Awesome time here, The staff were very friendly. It has some rules imposed for safety and convenience of others too.

By god's grace I didn't have to go through the miserable experience of staying at this property because they canceled my booking without any prior intimation.

This property follows a very greedy malpractice of canceling the booking at the last moment if the booking is not done directly with them.

I had booked the property via Agoda.and 4 days before the checking date they messaged me via agoda that they aren't able to reach me and my contact details are invalid.
I saw the message and called them to inform them that the booking was done via agoda and whatever contact info they received was via agoda.
It cannot be the case that I get booking details on my mobile number and email ID, but the property gets a different contact number. I have booked with agoda several times earlier and never faced any such issue.

The owner of property Surbhi Sharma claims that it is a mandate to check contact info of the guest before check-in. I am a frequent traveler and I have never come across any property confirming contact details and canceling the booking for a stupid reason that the contact number was not reachable.

When I asked the staff Satish why he canceled the booking without any intimation and why he didn't mention about the same on agoda, he said your booking is via agoda so check with them. If you want to book with us, book from our website. I asked him to match the price at which I had booked earlier and he said I will have to pay higher while booking from their website.

If they are not interested in serving the bookings from different OTAs why the hell is their property listed on these platforms?

@Surbhi, before you bring out this point that I spoke with your staff disrespectfully let me tell you that yes, I did that AFTER you guys canceled my stay at the last minute without any prior intimation and ruined my travel plans

Worst Experience of checking in. The booking was done for delux room but cancelled at arrival. Then was charged 600 more than fare. Total unprofessional staff and management. Leakage was there in bathroom and room was having spider web. Advised not to take. Better option available near by.

I stayed there for one month and have made countless memories there that I won’t ever forget. It started feeling like home and I was actually emotional when I had to leave. Got really friendly with all the staff members over there as they were really cooperative and polite. I wish I get to stay there once again someday. Super comfortable. Highly recommended.

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY IF YOU’RE CONSIDERING TO STAY AT BED AND CHAI. This hotel is no longer owned by the two French ladies who started it, it is now locally owned and the quality of my stay with my friend was very poor.
I stayed at Bed and Chai for a week and right on the first day we noticed that the pillows were dirty and there were no covers on them. We had to ask for basic necessities like dustbins and toilet paper for our room. Mind you, we booked the most superior room available there.
There was a rat in the room which caused some damage to our luggage. Despite our continuous attempt at seeking help from the hotel staff (more on this as you read on), we had to figure out the rat situation on our own. It turns out there was a whole family of rats living within one of the walls through a cupboard.
We changed our room to a smaller one and experienced a similar lack of cleanliness in the room, and the bathroom. There was a lizard in the bathroom of our second room as well.
The hotel is surprisingly understaffed and there’s only 2 people whom you could call the ‘hotel staff’. They brought us our necessities, they cleaned our room, they mostly cooked and brought us breakfast too (which again was not up to the mark at all). These two people were overworked and responsible for attending to all our needs.
There’s no proper provision of room servicing. We constantly had to seek the staff out for cleaning our room. There was a notice at our door saying that the hotel was not responsible for any luggage that gets stolen or goes missing. This was the grossest violation of our safety. Our worries made us carry our laptops and iPad with us wherever we went.

Place was good & clean & worth for money. Lift was not available which was an hindrance since hotel is at 2nd floor.

My experience with Bed and Chai was very unsatisfactory. I booked a standard room for Rs. 1800/ night, 11 May 22. The room wasn't kept ready. Had to ask for pillows too. The toilet though very basic was clean.
For the money paid it was quiet poor. It doesn't include a chai even.
The front desk is poorly managed. The calls for enquiry hardly gets attended. To checkout early I had to wait at the desk searching the person for bill and protocols to be finished.

If you're in Delhi and looking to stay close to the central with a budget, Bed & chai is an excellent choice. Located at the posh locality of GK-1, it's convenient and safe. Shurbi, Satish and Birendra Uncle are always helpful and made my stay Comfortable. If you are a backpacker or want to stay for a couple of days, Bed and Chai will be great. Oh and dont forget to have a cup of chai, Birendra uncle makes amazing chai.

Worst experience. No food no services. The worst booking I ever made. I was fooled by the ratings.

Hospitality at its peak. Staff is so understanding and polite. I was having my exam at Madhuban Hotel so i stayed here it was a nice and warm stay. My room was in main lobby right beside the main counter room no 1 i got a separate washroom for me that was also very clean and nice

This is not customer friendly at all!

I was massaging the WhatsApp Number last night and asked for the rooms and the prices and confirmed the booking of a standard room.

I the morning I got a message from them saying there are only superior rooms even if there were shown standard rooms on booking.com.
So I asked Them if I could get the breakfast included then if I pay more for a superior room even if I had booked a standard room with them.

So I did the booking through booking.com myself getting a message from them after through WhatsApp saying that they won’t accommodate me and that they will cancel the booking.

I’m going through some personal issues and really needed that room for a night and I don’t have much time to search for a new one so this was really bad for me.

Large room with great beds, and everything is clean, bathroom included. It is not managed by the French ladies anymore but the new owner is as nice and helpful, and the staff is incredible. Whatever you need they will make it happen, the cooking is really good too.
I arrived from France and it was really nice to stay at Bed & Chai, thank you again for everything!

I loved my stay at Bed & Chai Guest House. It was cozy & comfortable for entire length of my stay. Room prices over here, will occur as benign for anyone with/without tight budget and something tells me, there's nothing like this out there in south Delhi.
There are many things that I appreciated about the place. Having access to beautifully decorated open terrace was one such experience and I loved relaxing there in evening. I can't thank them enough for the wonderful breakfast (Onion Paratha happens to be my fav) they serve.
Over that, as the guest house name suggests, Chai part can't indeed be missed here. I couldn't start my day off over here without atleast sipping a cup of milk tea despite being occasional sipper of milk tea?
Additionally, I like to give thumbs-up to their neat & comfy rooms with aesthetically pleasing interiors. It makes one fall in love with the place.
Overall, I want to thank them for their hospitality and offering a welcoming place to stay.

Good budget place to stay for students for longterm.
People there are friendly and helpful, especially Bipul who does good housekeeping as well.
Management and maintainance not upto the mark. Sofas smell of fungus. Worn out paintwork. Multiple books, but in French language. Must have been a good place before current managemwnt took place. Not maintained now.
Ordinary breakfast, with only 2-3 choices. No cook in facility.

The rooms clean,

The staff supportive,
Overall a very pleasant and positive place.

Lovely little guesthouse in Greater Kailash, a short walk from M-Block market, with spacious rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff. The chef, Moses, produces outstanding dishes.

Perfect location for your visit to New Delhi.
Great breakfast (multiple options), fast wifi & good bathroom facilities. The staff is very helpful and friendly (they even booked train tickets for us!). They have a cosy rooftop where you can chill.
Tip: from the outside it doesn’t look so attractive but once you’ve settled you’ll feel comfortable.

A very welcoming place where all the staff make you feel at home and go out of their way to look after you.highly recommend a stay here. Different room choices for different budgets, all decorated in a quirky Indian style.

All the guys work hard to make you feel comfortable and at home. The breakfasts are yummy and if you request they will make you a good dinner (for additional payment of course), they even help you get lunch or a midnight snack delivered to you. The room I stayed in was clean and regularly maintained with towels and soap, fully functioning air conditioner and ceiling fan. Nice shower and toilet! Reliable internet. Most importantly comfy bed! Bottled water stocked up right outside my door or I could just refill using their own filtered dispenser in the kitchen or reception. They helped me with drivers and transport to and from the airport. It's close to the shops, walking distance to the bank, a cafe, a park and the pharmacy. What more can you ask for.

People like Madhu, Guddu and Moses will make you enjoy even more this very cosy place. Always very clean. Fresh towels are provided. Bathroom are well maintain with hot water. Nice breakfast is included. It's also very easy to find food around. The 5-Star however goes for the staffs!

Good but overall cooking and breakfast need to be improved. Some repairing of room including electrical wiring needed.

Cozy, comfortable, quirky place with a chilled out vibe and interesting decor. They offer only breakfast service so for lunch and dinner you'll have to go out or opt for delivery.

Perfect place to be for everybody who wants a relaxed stay. I spend one week at this place. Staff was really helpful. The included breakfast was terrific. Especially for everybody who doesn’t want a noisy surrounding it’s the perfect place be. I will stay there during every stay in Delhi!

Sweet quaint little spot near GK1 with complimentary breakfast and upcycled decor. Been back a few times before short trips to Delhi.

This is such a big mistake to have booked with them on basis of their reviews and pictures. Not trustworthy people. They have only agenda to get your money on false misleading information. Property is more like a budget backpackers place with dubious dealings in dim lights through a narrow lane going towards the 3 floor stairs. Not recommended for women and families. In the room next to our found a person totally drunk and was unable to stand on his feet and I'll treating other guests who were present there. Manager was laughing as if it is normal dealing. Not a nice place for decent people. I would not book even if they pay me to book. Forget it!
