Be careful.every shopkeeper fools customer with fake smile. Don't buy anything without bargaining. According to me try to avoid Chandni chowk. For current decade it is nothing but a faux market.

There are so many items u can buy exclusively there only. Like I went for some hand made packing paper, paper bags, ribbon, gifting flower, decorative material and so on. But u can buy so many things which you haven't even planned to buy.

If you ever want to see what is the meaning of a traffic jam, please do visit. Even turtle moves faster.

Giving it 5 stars ️ despite the chaos because the wedding shopping is by far the best in the country. The prices are unbelievable.
It itself is a historic landmark for its location and food.
The shopkeepers could be pushy but are respectful of your decisions. Make sure you bargain and don’t go with first option you see.
The food is amazing. And now the new market is very well organised with new road making it so much more accessible and easy to walk.

It's really awesome place. All shops and restaurants are good. Items are in affordable prices. Anyone can purchase here at their own level law to high. The जिलेबी of chandni chawk is world famous. What a tast of the जिलेबी.

So rush here lots of people around working, walking, traffic jam but you must come here if you want to see the real croud and may be some good food nearby.

The concept of personal space goes for a toss here. This is a great place to eat and shop till you drop (that phrase is so nineties) and buy stuff that you don't really need. It's a great place provided you are okay with people breathing down your neck.

Okay so now for the real stuff. This happens to be a seller's market. You can find anything here - entire streets dedicated to everyday items. Big and small. A street for thermometers. Some shops sell only in wholesale, so be prepared to buy large quantities in large discounts. Chandni chowk essentially is a seller's market but do not let that discourage you from buying stuff that you don't really need at throw away prices. Relish the food and visit the temples, mosque and gurudwara while at Chandni Chowk. Connectivity is superb thanks to the Delhi Metro.

The market's history dates to the founding of the capital city of Shahjahanabad when Emperor Shah Jahan established the Red Forton the banks of the Yamuna River beside his new capital.

Chandni Chowk, or the Moonlight Square, was designed and established by Princess Jahanara Begum,  Shah Jahan’s favourite daughter, in 1650 CE. Originally containing 1,560 shops, the bazaar was 40 yards wide by 1,520 yards long. The bazaar was shaped as a square was given elegance by the presence of a pool in the centre of the complex. The pool shimmered in the moonlight, a feature which was perhaps responsible for its name.  Shops were originally built in a half-moon shaped pattern, now lost. The bazaar was famous for its silver merchants, which also have contributed to the name of "Silver Street" as silver is referred to as Chandi in Hindi, a slight variation of which forms Chandni.

The pool in the chowk was replaced by a clock tower (Ghantaghar) until the 1950s. The center of the market is still referred to as Ghantaghar.

Chandni chowk is all about food and lehengas. You can find here every type of lehenga and sarees. This is also famous for street food. It's very rush area and gastronomical street.

Great place for shopping and fast food lovers. You can buy cloths at reasonable prices. Shopping for merriage occasion is great idea. One can choose from a wide range of products. The place is crowded so need to be extra careful and cautious. Take care of your belongings.

Heavy traffic, clothes are of high cost at some places, not a good environment. It takes almost 1 hour to come out from the market

Chandini Chownk market is where you would get suits sarees and bridal things for a cheaper rate than market rates and close to it sadar bazaar is also located but I would not recommend going their as streets are really dirty and clumsy, and there you would get a huge rush so let me tell you both the markets are for those persons who have either started business or are going to start business as they deal in wholesale so don't waste your time finding retail especially in sadar bazaar for accessories as you would get shops selling in retail but not in Wholesale price. BUT CHANDINI CHOWNK has this option you can get suits in retail at wholesale price so enjoy your shopping at Chandini Chownk

It is a famous market for shopping, eating and enjoying. People from all over India and abroad visit this market. This market was started in mughal era and a canal was also there in that time. Very crowded and conjusted but attractive.

I could have given zero stars. But I can't as then my experience won't count. Even if there are good shops for clothes, you won't get a feel. There is just so much rush. I used to fancy going to Chandni Chowk. But trust me, in real life when I went, first thing in my mind was to escape the Chandni Chowk area. Even a 1 trillion dollar renovation is nothing for this congestion.

I purchased lehangas there. The market is fine. But there are certain things which should be kept in mind while visiting any shop in this market.
1. Always carry cash with you. They don't accept cards (I have no idea why)
2. There will be many shops with the same name to confuse you. Keep your senses on to find the exact place you want to go to.
3. In lehangas: get one with good flare, good quality clothes, and fine not a shabby embroidery or work on it.
4. It takes a hell lot of time to find the right thing for you. Plan accordingly

Good market but for hard-core buyers. Not for new n simple buyers. Good market for bulk buyers. Specifically bridal clothes.
