Medical emergencies are the most difficult times to manage and the choice of doctor is the most crucial phase. And being a dentist myself, i become even more critical to decide.

It was a great decision to get my father's SAIO (sub acute intestinal obstruction) treated under Dr Mitra. My father's recovery is all credited to his midas touch. He's a great surgeon, undoubtedly, explains how he was with me over the call throughout the time and guiding me to the emergency room. Timely taking over the case in the middle of the night (at an odd hour) and carefully explaining the treatment plan in simplest language to my father are the two hallmarks, we felt, that makes him standout and makes him a good human for anyone to confide in him.

He is not only a blessed doctor but also a humble human being, he was our only blink of hope when other doctors didn’t even want to take up my father’s case and suggested palliative care. My father was initially diagnosed with locally advanced gallbladder cancer but by careful investigation he eventually ruled out the cancer part and it was eventually found out to be a case of xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis nevertheless it was a difficult scenario with huge tumour mimicking GBCa but he managed to get it out with minimal resection. His humility and approachability sets him way above any doctor that I have consulted with so far. I met Dr. Mitra during the treatment of my Mother in Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital for Gallbladder removal open surgery including liver inflammation surgery. I found him one of the very soft spoken, knowledgeable and most important A patient friendly doctor. Before meeting him my mother condition was very critical and we both were very scared as my mother facing a severe stomach pain followed by a chance of Pancreatic cancer as suggested by previous doctors. While meeting Dr. Mitra, he first made us comfortable and discussed/checked for almost 1 hr to get overall understanding of the patient. He not just made us believe that in all scenario my mother will be ok but also guided us in every small steps of diagnosis, additionally being present inside lab during MRI, CT etc to ensure that everything analyzed properly and finally rule out the possibility of cancer. It was such a great gesture from him as a doctor and human being and I am always thankful for this help.

Though after all diagnosis cancer was ruled out but a major infection found around around Liver, pancreas and gallbladder. My mother was also a heart patient and went though a angioplasty year before, so the condition was little tricky at that moment to perform a surgery.

I am thankful and happy that Dr. Mitra has taken a full care of the situation and further performed an open surgery for approx. 4-5hr to help recover my mother from that extra ordinary situation.

Today my mother is living a happy life without any complication or problem. She always bless Dr. Mitra for all the help, guidance and support during the entire treatment.
