We seek healthcare support to be seen and validated for whatever we are going through, in the hope that someone would understand our pain. I went to visit Dr. Rajat Chopra at the OPD of Ganga Ram hospital after being recommended by a family friend. Google had also shown quite high reviews about him.
My pain symptoms didn't match any diagnosis I was told, and thus, should be just forgotten. All my test results were normal, and my symptoms non-specific so I should just forget and move on. I had never felt more invalidated and gaslit by a doctor regarding my pain. I know my experience is real, and it's unbearable for me. The least as a doctor he could do was be kind and empathetic.
I was suggested painkillers, and told to stop thinking about it. I don't know how they claim to be such top doctors when they cannot come out of their textbook diagnoses. Healthcare in our country really has a long way to go.
My Mother- in -law was in severe pain in back, going to her ankle. She had numbness and had great difficulty in doing daily chores. We went to couple of Doctors, both of them recommended disc surgery with a cost of aprox 2.5 Lakh and a recovery period of 1 Month.

Within a week she was walking without pain and was feeling normal by the end of second week. I had my mother in law visit Dr Rajat Chopra to get her knees checked as she was adviced knee replacement. Dr Rajat checked her thoroughly without getting multiple tests done and adviced her not to rush for knee replacement immediately and wait for some time on a condition that she should continue her normal life without impacting her daily routine. The day she feels her routine life is getting impacted, she should approach him for the replacement. He further added that he will replace one knee at a time that is majorly impacted as he has seen patients not requiring the other (good) knee getting replaced. If still required, he will operate on the other knee. This genuine advice not only saved us money but also infused confidence into my MIL to overcome her illness. I would recommend Dr Rajat Chopra as a knee replacement surgeon to others.

Met doctor Rajat for my ACL surgery that i had to get done. He was referred to me by one of the top most doctors in town who said "there is no better doctor for the knees in Delhi at the moment" I had my first appointment with Dr Rajat and by the end of the appointment i had decided that he was the doctor i was going to get operated by. He took time to explain the procedure and also explained in detail the recovery. Even during the time i was admitted in hospital he took time to keep my family informed about the progress etc. Have been back to him a couple of times post my surgery and am very happy with the recovery i have been able to make post that.i will always be grateful and thankful to him.will recommed him at the drop of a hat.
In todays world, one of the few exceptions in the medical practise is dr rajat. Conservative, relying on building gradual but permanent stregnth rather than short term medical solutions. Dr. Rajat Chopra is a very humble man. His dedication towards his profession is something that is very rare these days. His love for his patients is beyond explanation. Worst doc ever! I visited him for an ingrown nail which was hurting me so much that I was not able walk He charged me 1800/- rs and instead of cutting my ingrown nail he just took a look and not even touching my leg he gave me pain killing medicines That time I felt there’s nothing more important than money not even when someone’s crying out there in pain.
Dr Rajat is one of the few left species of human being who still cares for peoples well-being and happiness. In all my intercations with him till date, I always found him incusitive, patient and full of energy. He listens you carefully, takes time to diagnose and gives you just the treatment you need and nothing else. He is not one of those who will make you run to get unnecessary pathology reports. He treated my non-union case with utmost care and helped me a great deal to stand on my feet again. Though it took some time but he made sure I dont suffer in the process and remain positive.
