SEFL PROCLAIMED BEST SPINE SURGEON WITH VERY BAD SURGICAL HAND.
HI I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW ALMOST 18 MONTHS POST SPINE SURGERY FROM DR RAJAN AND THANKS TO HIS SURGICAL SKILLS THAT I HAVE STILL NOT RECOVERED FROM THE DISASTEROUS SURGERY AND DEPENDENT ON PHYSIOTHERAPY AND MEDICATIONS FOR PAIN RELIEF.
I M MYSELF A DOCTOR (RADIOLOGIST) AND HAD DEVELOPED L4-L5 DISC EXTRUSION WITH RADICULOPATHY ALMOST 2 YEARS BACK. AFTER TRYING ALL CONSERVATIVE MEASURES, IN AUG 2022 I DECIDED TO UNDERWENT SURGERY FOR THE SAME. LIKE MOST OF US, I BLINDLY TRUSTED THE GOOGLE RATINGS OF DR RAJAN AND UNDERWENT ENDOSCOPIC MICRODISECTOMY ON 12 AUG 2022. BUT MY POST OPERATIVE EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE. Firstly, during my entire stay in hospital he didn't paid even a single visit after surgery which was quite disheartening. All my symptoms worsen after the surgery and during my subsequent OPD follow up visits (for almost 3 months) i kept on telling him that the back pain has increased and tingling sensation in the leg is still persistent. But, despite of ordering a Post OP check MRI (in view of worsening of symptoms) he kept on delaying it and just changed the medications/ increased dosage at each visit. After almost 3 months post surgery when the things were not improving i consulted another neurosurgeon who advised immediate repeat MRI and to my shock.there were number of post operative complications in my MRI scan. -there was post operative collections (blood / CSF) -fracture of pars interarticularis- a supporting bone (due to poor approach while entering spine) -there was scarring at the operative site which was compressing the neural canal -severe edema in the back muscles
As a Radiologist it was very difficult for me to digest that i was looking at my own spinal MRI.after that i consulted number of other spinal surgeons in the INDIA and also abroad. Almost every one was of opinion that it was a bad surgery and i should immediately stop taking treatment from my primary surgeon (Dr RAJAN) but still i went to Dr Rajan and showed him my post operative MRI.and like all other surgeon he was defensive and was unapologetic. He complicated a simple endoscopic surgery so badly that all other surgeon advised me to undergo revision surgery (so, 2nd surgery within 3 months). But i was still in shock and decided against another surgery. Everyone wants to share there success stories but nobody wants to talk about the failure. Dr RAJAN i feel is not a seasoned surgeon.he may boost of having performed multiple complex surgery.but what's the use if u r not skilled enough to perform a simple endoscopic disc surgery (he himself told me in first OPD consultation that it's a simple and short procedure). When you are performing a complex surgery everyone is mentally prepared for the worst outcome but same is not the case in a simple surgery No procedure is free from complication that i understand being a medico.but with due diligence all complications can be avoided.i feel that it' s his overconfidence and negligent approach which landed me in this situation.and over and above he kept me in dark and just worsen everything further by delaying tactics.i imagine, If he can do this to medico (who has deep understanding of medicine) what will he do to a common man with little understanding of this field. Not a single day has passed when i have not cursed him.but i know nothing can be changed and i have to accept the reality.
I underwent surgery to get rid of agonizing pain but in turn got a baggage full of unwarranted and unacceptable complications.
I wish i was more wiser and diligent in choosing my surgeon.
My mom undergone surgery twice and now after surgery she is completely on bed rest before surgery she was at least properly walking and doing her normal chore but doc so much created a fear without surgery she will get paralyzed due to which surgery was done for spine injury after a year of surgery she was on bed rest again doctor undergone surgery even after second surgery no improvement she is having wrst and unbearable pain now surgeon have no answer and their pain management team have no solution my. They made my mother lyk a paralyzed with having actual paralysis

My mother was diagnosed with osteoporotic D12 compression fracture last winter after complaining of numbness in feet and back pain. My earlier matter missed while writteing sir namaste i was sddmittedt on 16 march operated on 17 march 8am by rajan sir spine compress of 5,6,7 spine discharged on 19 march 22 i had one Seizuire on 20 march again addmitted in emergency discharged 23 marched right now the problem is 80 percent stiffness is theire in hand and legs it goes up in night and reduced in day time i am still weareing neck coller regural medicine i can now button my shirt nd pick up coin from floor how long should i wear my coller can i drive my small scooty for work right now going by ola car how long should i containue my gabapin nt 400 mg hs i shall highly appreciate if this is read by you sir nd response to me on whats thru parveen sir regards shamim ali lucknow up

My father Sri Man Mohan Gupta, aged 72 years, was in extreme pain. He could not not take long walks, attend social gatherings, at times was in distress even at home. He had problem in lower spine. The best spine doctor i have meet till date.i was suffering from slip disc so i took treatment from dr. S. K Rajan and now its been a month from surgery and pain is 90% gone. Thanks to the doctor and his team.

I was suffering from slipped disc in my L4-5 lumbar spine for the past 5 years. I had constant pain in my lower back and I had almost learnt to live with it. Then it started increasing around December last year and I came to meet Dr. Rajan. Now in the hindsight I can say for sure that it was one of the best decisions I made. The way he explained and guided me to how we can proceed with the treatment made me feel like I could live a pain free life again. He suggested me two options and being a 25 year old opting for spine surgery I had my doubts but he was calm enough to address those. I went with fusion as that was more in line with what i wanted out of the treatment. He and his team performed the surgery on 25th Jan 2022 and here I am exactly 3 months later finally learning what it’s like to not always be in pain and lead a normal life. The only regret I have is why I didn’t come to him sooner. All thanks to him and his team.
