Sis Ganj Sahib Gurdwara is one of the nine historical Gurdwaras in Delhi. It was first constructed in 1783 as a small shrine by Baghel Singh Dhaliwal to commemorate the martyrdom site of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur and was probably expanded after Indian Rebellion of 1857 or after Partition of India. Completed: built in 1783
This is a Historical Gurdwara dedicated to the Memory of Ninth Sikh Guru Sahib Shri Guru Teg Bahadur ji, also called as the Saviour of Religion and Hind di Chadar. He was subjected to extreme torture along with his beloved Singhs Bhai Mati Dass and Bhai Sati Dass by cruel Mughal King Aurangzeb who was mass converting Hindus into Islam and Guruji stopped and challenged Aurangzeb. Finally Guru Sahib was martyred at the Chandni Chowk by beheading. Sis means Head, so this Gurudwara Sahib is named Sis Ganj Sahib after the Ninth Guru.
After almost 3years I am reviewing. The memories look alive because I have spent 3 - 4 days there. Great place and best location. Hope I could go there again and pay service to the Gurudwara.
