While many fancy and fine dining options have come up recently, nothing beats the old world authenticity that the Himalayan Restaurant brings to the decades old Majnu ka Tila or the so called Monastry market at the bus adda at North Delhi. The place is rustic and very basic but the food is as good as it used to be decades ago and the prices are very reasonable. Ask them for the open terrace overlooking the yamuna and surrounded by lush trees if you fancy a beer or hard drinks with yummy Chinese and Tibetan food.
I have visited this restaurant a couple of times. On my first visit, the food was quite appetising and the sitting area upstairs was also nice. So the next time I had a date, I decided to come here. But to my horror, the food took quite a long while to prepare; the service was really slow and the waiter staff had difficulty answering any questions we had about the food. When the food did end up coming, it was EXTREMELY SALTY.so we took it up with the chef who was quite cocky and kept insisting that that was exactly how it was supposed to taste. They did end up fixing the dish. But took some more time and brought out the same dish - all watered down. So, would i recommend this restaurant to anyone ever again? unfortunately no. It was such a disappointing experience.
A two storey restaurant that Serves food, beer and hukka. I visited this place for the second time and I highly recommend their chicken thukpa as it was very tasty. Their beverages are good. Free wifi is also available.
The food is really tasty especially steamed momo, they are so delicious and juicy. The ambience is quite good with good background music. Perfect place for a budget date. Rs. 700-800 for 2 person.
Visited for early dinner on a Saturday. It was not too busy and felt quite relaxed. We got hot and sour soup and a selection of dim sum. The food was great. Tasty. Proper. Both the soup and the different dim sums. Worth going.
Worst Service Bad Food 3 of us went for the dinner, ordered lemon grass chicken fried rice along with other food and received rice cooked in fish/prawn oil. When i called the waiter after tasting the rice to inform him that the dish tastes like fish and we cannot eat it as one of my friend is not allowed sea food due to medical reason, the waiter refused to bring us the actual rice we ordered and blamed us and told us that its our fault that we didn't informed him that we don't want sea food in our chicken fried rice *seriously* Anyway disgusted by the service and spending Rs. 1260/- on the food which did not eat, all of us ended up having food poisoning in the morning.
*Nice Ambiance and interior but a bit congested. *Good for small parties. *Food is tasty especially Tibetan Dishes. However, the portion is less. *They serve alcohol (Beer Only). *If you are a buff lover then you must this place.
They have a range of authentic tibetian and Chinese and Nepali foods. Try kothey momos and chilli garlic noodles. Earlier they used to serve liquor also, now they don't serve it. Food is tasty and worth it. Don't order chilly potato they have dramatically reduced the portion.
I love this amazing restaurant. The plus points here are food, ambiance, songs, and the best is the balcony open area. You can chat, sit and eat and that also at an affordable price. Must visit if you haven't.
The food tasted really bad and all my friends got food poisoning. Been 4 days and still trying to recover. This cafe was our go to place before covid.but now I would never visit this cafe. Really disappointed.
Brilliant value for money food served fresh, hot and delicious. It's almost an institution in MKT and must visit for a great meal with friends.last order is at 1015 pm. Wholesome food, polite service staff and a pleasant vibe.
We ordered a spicy thukpa, kothe momos and chicken dry. Spicy thukpa was really really bad. Rest was fine, when compared to other restaurants at majnu ka tila, not upto the mark. Won't visit it in the future.
I Would Rate Poor Because Of The Wait Time Of Servings And No One Even Cares If You Had Ordered 5 Mins Ago Or Even An Hour Ago. This Is Nothing Compared To Dolma's.
An Experiment Went Wrong And Experience Made Worst.
It's calm and cozy place. It's perfect for people who would like to have a quite time and have discussions over life issues and relationship issue. Because the staffs won't really disturb you. You're out of noises, just make sure that your voice should be low enough for other people not to hear your conversation. Amazing place!
I went here with a friend of mine And the interiors are really nice, spacious and pretty They have wide variety of food to choose from plus it isn't expensive at all Though their service are a little slow There food is really nice and comes in a good fulfilling proportion too We had Chili garlic noodles- the noodles were well seasoned and was good Veg gravy manchurian- it was good and goes well with the bread and noodles Tingmo- it's a steam bread which you can eat with pretty any dish 2 coke The experience there was good though I wish there service get a little more attentive towards their costumers
Decent restaurant. The fancy part is that it has two floors. Good aesthetics too; colors and everything. Just that, in summers, most seats at the top floor feel very hot, since neither the fans nor the ACs reach them. Otherwise, decent food too. And yes, you get to drink here.
Only restaurant stays open late night till 11pm. They have great food options. They don't serve Alcohol. Ask for dishes before ordering. The Ambience at the lower level is better than the upper level seating.
One of the best place for Chinese Food. Must try are Chicken Devil Momos, Shredded Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce, Chicken Monchow Soup, Egg Spring Rolls, Egg fried rice
