India Gate is a prominent monument in New Delhi, India, and it's not only a historic landmark but also a symbol of national pride. This magnificent arch stands as a tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War I.
Imposing monument built to commemorate the soldiers who fell in the First World War. You can see it in the city of New Delhi, located on an avenue just over 3 km long, with fountains, canals and meadows on both sides that is used for parades. Thanks to this avenue, the Gate looks very bright and vice versa. You will find that it is always very full "there is a lot of life" as it is a place very visited by Indians, although taking a selfie will be difficult, you will enjoy the number of street stalls it has. You can also go visit it at night, seeing it illuminated gives you another perspective.
Really love to spend time with friends and family.specially at nights.try to go not on weekends.when it will be less crowded.you will really love the beauty of the place.there are many food outlets are there but they are too costly.not worth at all.better to bring your own food, sit and enjoyy
India Gate is the most iconic monument of India. Events and programs keep happening here during Amrit Udyan opening. Bring your own food and water. Vendors are not allowed inside. Don't litter. Respect armed forces people. Don't sit on the Martyrs wall or anywhere inside the War Memorial.
Very well maintained location and has dedications for the soldiers who martyred during war and those names are engraved on the wall of India gate very beautiful place in Delhi
This is an amazing national monument of India. It is so well-maintained, I visited on weekend, the ambiance at India Gate is nothing short of enchanting, especially during the evening when the monument is illuminated, Children park is also near. And the most important It commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I.the mesmerizing sight left me awe-inspired and created an unforgettable experience.
Even though I went on a weekday, things moved too quickly. Visit a national monument and feel happy. I wish I had more time to devote. No packed food or water facilities are accessible inside this area due to cleanliness concerns. Therefore, carry food and water from home or the outside. It's beneficial to spend time with family. Will return after the anticipated journey for the nighttime light display on any special day.
Best visiting time: - Evening Entry ticket: - free of cost Parking: - rs 20
It was wonderful time visiting India Gate, New Delhi with all my good friends. Not in a mood to return back from the place. It was so nice to stay there whole day. It's really a memorable day. The place is so nice. This tourist attraction is different and beautiful. The gate has very rich history.
It’s magnificent! During the evenings, the edifice lights up beautifully in Indian National Colors.
Best place to have a walk. You can enjoy with family You can play with Kids, prepare for a picnic and come.
The new changes done or new development done is fabulous. It gives great pride to go to this place and see Indian tricolour lighting and various others as well but only during the evening.
The statue of Shubhash Chandra build is very big and great in size.
Parks and fountains built are added beauty which can be utilised
This monument is very famous and surrounding of India gate is good for picnic with family and friends very safe and secure area for all but if u will buy and packaged food items or and drinks here u will be charged higher by street wenders than MRP so if u like to take package food and drink so purchase some where from India gate. Awesome. Now India Gate looks great all near by park, fountains looks beautiful. But people should change some habits. More discipline to clean for better looks.
Best visited during evenings, maybe in July-Aug season (light showers are bonus for rain lovers). Exceptionally beautiful during winters, for morning walks and cycling.
It's one of most beautiful monument of India. You can easily get here via metro, auto or bus. I would suggest you to use two wheeler vehicle instead whether it be bike, Scooty, cycle, the reason is to absorb fresh air & feel the beauty of this place. Also parking will be easier. Car parking becomes a bit difficult here. The best time to visit India gate is either early morning or late night. Early morning you would see beautiful sunrise, chirping of birds, cyclists, athletes, army practice & many other things. Late night you would see very beautiful moon light, magic of lights, engraved names of soldiers & various things. Now it's up to you choose one. Early risers or late night visitors.
India Gate, an important monument of the city, is a memorial built in commemoration of more than 80,000 Indian soldiers who were killed during World War I. The monument is an imposing 42 meters high arch and was designed by the famous architect Edwin Lutyens. India gate was earlier named All India War Memorial.
The India Gate (formerly known as the All India War Memorial) is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the "ceremonial axis" of New Delhi, formerly called Kingsway. The memorial-gate is also a popular spot for protests by the civil society in New Delhi. But full security and barricades their
Delhi is home to me, so I am biased. That said, the central vista is gorgeous. If I am going across town for any reason, I try routing it through Rajpath. Driving down from the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the view is fabulous. The India Gate stands tall, a monument to all the Indians who lost their lives in the 2nd world war, fighting a war that wasn't theirs, far far away from home. The picnics around it, the couple's a courting, tourists buying some small virulently coloured toys, snacks of a very Indian nature- all contribute to a fab experience!
Recommended to go their at night. The lights, music playing in the background. Will soothe ur frayed nerves. U will see many people walking their alone or with their families. Roadside food always steal the heart of Delhities. U can sit in the park near india gate for meditating or for cut down from world. Thanks! Hope this will may help you.
Lighting and music makes the most beautiful night here. Most fabulous landmark of India. India gate is a place where you can visit free of cost as there is no charge and here you can sense the beauty of nature due to clean and green environment.
It is also one of the most touristy places in India. Thousands of people visit here everyday. The evening atmosphere is best here. At the same time most people come. There is a very good atmosphere with light in the evening. Every man is seen doing photoshoot here. Which have become common nowadays. There are also places for parking in front of it. Which is considered quite a good feature for the people.
India's most beautiful and tremendous place. British colonial times Symbol of India ethics. A way part of precident house. So safe and secure cost free place. India's most gladly museum indian national museum is a nearest place.
This is the pride of Delhi that was earlier known as the All India War Memorial. This monument was built by the Lutyens in the memory of all the 90000 soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of their country during the World War I. The names of each of the soldiers are inscribed on the walls of the monument. The Amar Jawan Jyoti or the Eternal Flame burns here 24 hours as a symbol of remembrance of the brave warriors. On the opposite side of the monument is the very controversial canopy where was once placed the marble statue of Prince George which was later removed from here.
Es war nicht nur dieser historische Platz, nein es sind auch täglich die netten Leute, welche man unterwegs kennenlernt! India Gate lag Anfang November 2019 im totalem Smog, sodass die Sicht sehr eingeschränkt war.
India gate is one of my best place to visit. It looks glorious in evening. But here some construction is going on that's making us annoying. By the way it's fabulous.
Like every Indian I love this place. Its view is more beautiful during sunset. Great architectural momentum. Surrounding area is very clean and Green. A great Heritage site of Delhi and India. If people are visiting Delhi for first time then they should visit this historical place. This area is the centre of New Delhi so you have lots of places to visit near by. People visit here to eat food, learn to drive cars and motor cycles and the local vendors are trading really good. Some peoples are spoiling the beauty of this place. Administration should take care of them.
