Food and services are good but the atmosphere is worse. Staff behaviour is decent. Prices are pocket friendly. The only thing is the sitting area is smelling like urine smell.
I had visited the cafe today after seeing a lot of Instagram videos about them. But they are not worth the hype created over the social media. There is no proper cleaning and food is also average. The place is not such eco friendly and prices are also high as compared to the quality.
Not at all a pleasent experience. The cold coffee was mixed with a lot of water and the quality was extremely poor. Highly overpriced menu. Nothing special about it. I suggest not to visit this place.
Indian Coffee House is a great place to go for a classic Indian coffee house experience. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is delicious. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. However, it can be crowded at times, and service can be slow.
It is just a Basic Cafe with basic service. Food is also ok ok type. It is definitely not a Cafe I will recommend. But if you want to enjoy an old vive then surely a One time try.
It still has the same old world charm. Food is great and affordable on the pocket. The cleanliness can still be improved. The location is also not very convenient, you have to go 3 floors up to reach the place.
Indian House Cafe is located in Connaught Place. There are many options of coffee and breakfast here and it is very famous. That's why everyone visits here. I too had breakfast with my friends two or three times and drank coffee.
A classical vintage cafe at perfect location near to hanuman mandir and. Food is good with reasonable pricing specially south indian.for those who believe in simplicity and peace.nothing fancy. Also available in shimla and other parts. If maintained properly it can be on the hit list of all food bloggers.
Expecting a fine dine - Do not go here. Expecting gala time with your friends or a chit-chat session with your Mum with coffee and noodles and dosa and desi aloo fries - You're at the right place. Serving my kinda time-experience-coffee since 2015 (my first visit).
This place has a vibe which takes you to the era of old school love. It's peaceful and if you are a kind of person who embraces raw and unexplainable emotions, it's the right place for you. This one place is close to my heart (and budget friendly too) (only place which serves mutton dosa) Each person will connect to this place in their own manner.
Tho having quite a bit review from lot of bloggers. A common person perspective with time this place lost its taste, would suggest not to take coffee related items. Old school cutlets u find. And sandwich is on sweeter side which is little off thr best. If ur a clg going person and would meet a friends over food. Would give 4 star then
Loved it.something which gives a rustic feeling.its a place to have your morning breakfast and feel your old school days. French Toast are its best. Give it a try you will definitely like it
I always have cheese omelet and french toast with cold coffee here. Taste wise its great. Price is also affordable. Lots of space to sit and walk. The place has an old and ancient kind of vide which is common with all indian coffee houses.
- Not so crowded - Price authentic - Good quality foods - Service is very good at this price with proper dress code - Sitting arrangement Good spacious with outdoor option - Good view of CP from terrace
What needs improvement:
- Interior not so good - Very old fan, Not much clean - On 2nd Floor - If you sit outside crow and monkey May come - Menu is limited, Only fast food, snacks and drink available
There was a time when Indian Coffee house filled with intellectuals to spend their casual times nd having creative discussions over a budget coffee or snacks.now it is just a place of overpriced pathetic food nd poor infrastructure
Neat and clean restaurant. Generally people visit for South Indian dishes but many other eatables are available on very reasonable price like egg items and even mutton cutlets. Well dressed waiters serve with a smile. Good open space is there that's a rare scene in Delhi
This establishment has been there since long. Good breakfast and south indian food. Have a feel of it. Food is yumm. PS - The photograph is a view from the restaurant.
Absolutely nostalgic for those who love a small dingy place with affordable pricing option an offbeat location in the heart of the city, I think it's a hidden gem. A good place to just meet talk or catch up over coffee and snacks. Their mutton dosa is a must try
It was good in 2010 and earlier but now not soo good staf changed chef changed, filter coffee average taste, and famous keema dosai is good but not these days
The only words which I can say for the place are amazing just the place you would like to visit for a nice cup of coffee with a pocket-friendly bill. Staff is the best their way of interaction the service everything was up to the mark.
In simple words, it is a forgotten jewel which we should make famous again as it is located in the heart of Delhi CP.
A nice and cheap restaurant at CP. We had french toast, mutton cutlet and Veg pakoda for breakfast. All the dishes were delicious and fresh. They have a very simple ambience. Prices are reasonable considering the location of the restaurant. Service is very fast and they maintain good hygiene.
This is immemorial place, doesn't evolving much, except they freshened it up, ground floor with new tiles and chairs in metal, before years back it was really beaten down. But menu is still the same, usually i take tray coffee, and eat a snack. Prices follow the inflation but keep reasonable. Staff is slowly doing the job in white uniforms. In the past it was mainly for elderly people, now it's like young n stuff are coming, also professionals from around. Oh they changed the windows too, good when it's winter time!
Price is good and service is super fast. But what I didnt like there is their Biryani. It was more like a pulao than a biryani. Otherwise, good place to take some rest in CP.
Vintage place run by cooperative though the quality of food is not good. Even their signature coffee is not up to the mark. However, it is a good and cheap option to spend time in CP.
Really Good for the price and you will also find mutton dosas and mutton cutlets. Very reasonable rates. The place is not very fancy though. But worth the visit.
Today, I visited Indian Coffee House M. S. Place, CP almost after 40 odd years but the peculiar taste and ambiance is same as it used to be during our college days. Mutton Keema Dosa & Filter Coffee were pick of the day.
-Food 3/5 Veg option are less and were not that good. Don't know about other -Beverage 4/5 -Staff 5/5 -Environment 2/5 (Needs Renovation) No Air condition and bit foul smell too
Best place to hangout with friends if you want to talk and talk. They server tasty snacks with the best coffee ever! The don’t have good ambience but you will love the open terrace in connaught place. The stall is also really good and friendly. The serve dosa, pakora, cutlet and all of the indian snacks.
I think it is Indian Coffee House 2nd floor of Mohan Singh Palace (shopping centre). Photo is of Coffee Home which is entirely different entity. Anyway for starters Indian Coffee House is as stated 2nd floor of Mohan Singh Palace (shopping center) as far as my exp is concerned all Indian Coffee Houses are unhygenic and badly served and most importantly they are not cheap. They are serving less than street quality food at all coffee houses with rates of 30% of any other resturant that is properly maintained which ICH's are not. They are only using brand name since its very old brand and give nostalgia to some people. DISCLAIMER PLEASE DON'T CONFUSE IT WITH COFFEE HOME OR ANY OTHER PLACE WITH nearly similar name.
Great place to sit and sip coffee over nicely made food. Good crowd you can see and staff behaviour is great. It's an old place and the charm of it says it all! Would definitely recommend
Earlier, the ambience was happening and cultured. Gradually, it is degrading now. Just because of the terrace area is blocked, I stopped visiting there.
If the food here was not be good, I would have given it 1 but south Indian food and some special items are extremely delicious. It is sometimes better than Shravana Bhawan, CP.
Don't order for any non-veg items here, In the name of Biryani they serve fried rice with curry on top. Paneer pakode are good. Soft and smooth. Uttapam gives you a flavour of Shravana Bhawan sometimes.
Cold coffee is good. Try it.
The wide, open and beautiful terrace area of ICH has been closed since a very time. It provided an edge to this place. Food is much better and extremely reasonable. A group if 5 gets a high five.
Since the time its space shrinked, the inner sitting area has become too messy. Less air.
Avoid visit in Summers. Slow ceiling fans, stinking bathrooms would give you a faint. No water in the washroom taps most of the time. Keep sanitizer with you. Don't poop there in any emergency; better look for a public toilet.
Need to upgrade the place. It's difficult to sit in summers evening. Try resuming services on the terrace. Evening would be better.
It's very pathetic. Never expected such a service. Even you will not find a wash basin here. I had a image of good place for ICH Bhopal, but it disappointed me here.
NEVER EVER take the lift in mohan singh palace. It gets stuck frequently. Press the bell in that case, or ask any other office goer to call the guards. Food is good by the way.
A good place which gives a feeling of nostalgia.limited menu but good service. My recent experience with the quality was not good. I tried cutlet (which is most popular here) and potato fries and of course coffee. The loo outside the gate always stinks badly. Please find a table as far as possible from the gate. Earlier there were sitting facilities outside also, which had a much better appeal but now it is removed. You can sit only inside the hall. Mostly crowded and noisy.
Im not sure if I visited the cafe at the right time or not. But it looked like it needed some serious renovation. Finding an entrance to the shop was a big problem. Service and food were good but the prices are a bit high for Indian coffee house standards. There wasn't even a proper place to get the hands washed after the food. Just some workarounds were being done for that. Looking at the number of customers paying a visit to the Indian Coffee House and also owing to the fact that it exists in the heart of the city, it needs some serious facelift.
I must say it is one of the trusted place and you often find students, teachers, theatre artists, painters and poets having a long chat. Interesting to find it still maintains the traditional dress for the staff. Food is fine with reasonable price. You can keep this as a meeting place in the middle of the city. You must taste coffee and South Indian special breakfast items.
