It was a great museum and to know about the personal life of Srimati Indira Gandhi, The first and the youngest female prime minister of India. Her life apparently is very basic if we see in today's terms but her house which is the museum of Indira Gandhi and her son Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the whole museum gives you an idea of how it must have been in the past. Personally speaking I really appreciate it and loved my visit to the museum, The tragic life story of the Gandhi's it's very heart wrenching if we think about their assassination. It even showcase the very path that Srimati Indira Gandhi took right before she was assassinated the place where she fell to the ground, the wole movement be omes alive if you think about it and imagine how it must have been. And even the clothes which Shri Rajiv Gandhi was wearing before he was killed in a bomb blast the fragments of his cloths is on display his shoes sock that he was wearing at that time. I would definitely recommend this place. And m sure you all will enjoy too for sure.
There is no rest rooms nearby and no restaurants so you know what to do. At the end there is a nice souvenirs Shop.
One of the best memorial and Muesuem. It is so clean. You can come with your children's also here. Note: There is no Allowed to take foods, water bottle and other items. You can also shop from there and you can also watch a movie based on Shri Indira Gandi.
It was a nice place to make feel proud to be an Indian. The museum was awesome with well decorated glass framed photos of Gandhi family. It was also well decorated with beautiful paper cuttings. It was a very sad moment for when I saw a domb gifted by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Suddenly I was thinking about the kind of love that India showered on Palestinians but the India has forgotten the sufferings of Palestinian peoples
Well planned and exhibited museum, neat and tidy, it may be boasting stories and talents of members in a particular family but at the same time it makes me thinks about is there anything good that today's leaders have to boast about.
Fascinating stories of these place: 1. Photo attached below is the saree of Ma'am late Indira Gandhi which she wore on the day of her assassination. 2. One can see the life of Gandhi family very closely from this memorial and can understand how interested Indira Gandhi was regarding studying different books as most of her room are full of books. 2. Also can see the life of Rajiv Gandhi, his pilot instruments, degrees and all. Also their framed the last clothes which was worn by him on the day of his assassination. 3. Also one can get a clear picture of how Indira Gandhi was assassinated, at which place she was shoot to death by security guards of gate. 4. Finally one can purchase books, clothes related to Gandhi family which are available at an affordable price.
If you are history lover the place will leave a mark on you.there are many things like some rare photos and memories and the SAREE which she wore at the time of death, the suite of Rajib gandhi tattered by by the blast etc but most importantly where she was being shot dead is also marked.
Its loaded with lots of historical information and articles to see. Its interesting to see things which were a part of their private life. No tickets required, you can simply enter.
The most beautiful place, well maintained and informative. It is inspiring to see the Iron Lady of India and her days spent at this residence. Very touching!
Good. But they have to look into their surrounding areas as well. Outside areas like road and footpaths have to be maintained neatly. People cross the roads in zigzags. No one use zibra crosses. There is no signal to cross the road. There is a huge whole in footpath were drainage water pops ups 24 hours. So what is the use of showing memories of who ruled 15 years and still India sucks in development.
That was my first visit at Indira Gandhi memorial museum. Place totally reflects daily routine and lifestyle of our beloved prime minister. There were many rooms which at first instance look like maze. Recommend every one to visit this place.
Please do not carry water bottle because water bottle are not allowed in the museum. However you can have mobile camera etc for photography these are allowed.
Mrs Indira Gandhi served the nation right from her childhood. Each and every important stage of her life portrayed here in the form of photographs. News paper articles on her life can be seen, awards she received, other momentos, library she used and many more. I could not stop my tears when I saw the place of Mrs Indiraji's death. In a meeting she rightly said, "I will serve my nation until the last drop of blood remains in my body".
It is the place where Iron Lady was assassinated. Good place to know about Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Musuem contains their personal belongings including Blood stained saree of Indira Gandhi and dress which Rajiv Gandhi wore when bomb exploded.

It is a good place made in the memories of Indira Gandhi. The place where she was shot by her body guards is also made in such a way so that people remember that spot. Inside the memorial you'll find various newspaper articles of her in different regional languages. Also there is a glass chamber in which you'll see that the saree and the slippers which were worn by Indira Gandhi on the day of her death also kept sacred. One must visit this place.
A walk in the past. All about indira Gandhi and her kids and also ofcourse about her political ideology. Only think I did not like was the commotion created by a bunch of people visiting with lots of children and elderly. Museum is supposed to be a quiet place: p
