Jugaad Hostels / J House

Perfect for my first 2 nights in Delhi. Spacious and clean room with hot water, on the building roof. Great roof terace, good breakfast. Nice people that help you with activities and what to do. I felt really safe her, the building is good and the area nice to walk around. 10min tuk tuk to many great places. 20min from the airport, i could arrive late at night and the Jhouse arranged a taxi pick up for me

Clean rooms and sheets, good price, really nice rooftop space. Friendly staff, decent location if you're wanting to escape the usual mess of Paharganj. Only downside to the private room we booked was the lack of any windows/natural light.

Only stayed there less than 12h but within 20min from airport, easy to find and staff very helpful. Glad we went with this option as many accommodations near the airport within that price range have awful reviews and some are scams. Room was spacious and clean, nice smell and two fans both working well and not very loud. Also had AC but we didn’t need it so can’t review it. Internet working well. There’s a local market nearby. They have drinking water for free, can ask for iron and rooftop quite nice and relaxing after a long day.

J house is a must for anyone wanting a quieter, friendly and enriching experience in New Delhi. The staff are awesome, the rooms are super clean. This area is not flooded with tourists which is nice.
My only notes - the laundry service is a little pricey but I am happy to give money to a good cause.

Good experience. Stayed there on experimental basis. They provide good and clean accommodation except for a little bit of bathroom smell seeping into the dormitory during the fag end of the second week of my stay. However the staff is extremely courteous and helpful in ensuring your comfort. They clean the rooms multiple times in a day. Rooms and dorm have to be pre-booked and doesn’t have a cancellation policy, which I found was the only drawback. However they provide the dorm at extremely cheap rates which compensate for that. Everything you need is available in the near vicinity and helps you relax a great deal. The effectiveness of the AC in the waiting area is under question as that is the only place where AC is on during the day. Ensure you get a lower berth in the dorm as the air circulation from the fan doesn’t reach the top berth. Overall a good experience and one of the best in Delhi.

Front-Desk are too helpful, they offered me their own room because I need stay one more day and others room were already booked. Neat and clean room, friendly environment, and good place to make new friends.

Definitelty not a good experience for the quality of sleep. And the managers (kids at the reception) don't care at all about.

Pros and Cons about JHouse:
Pros:
- It is in a not-too-chaotic place in South Delhi
- It is close to the deer park and the wonderful neighbourhood of Hauz Khas where you can find delicious tibetan restaurants and European-style shops
- Clean and with a stilish modern style
- Nice staff

Cons:
Unfortunately for me cons were bigger than pros and that is why I did not fully enjoy my experience there:
- The biggest issue was the absence of a card machine! (In a hostel. How is it possible? !) They were our last days there so we wanted to save the last cash to spend it on the last gifts and spices we wanted to buy at the market and pay the hostel by card, BUT since they did not have a card mashine we had to give it all to the pay the hotel. The same thing happened in another hostel in Jaipur but they were so nice and bend over backward to solve the problem, whereas here they did not seem to care too much. They told me they do not have a card mashine because they have to pay a 3-4 % tax on it but. I mean. I think it is a service that you MUST offer in a youth hostel.
- Even if the two receptionists were nice and helpful, one did not speak english! That means that I coud not really menage to communicate with him - who was the receptionist, so a person whose job is to communicate with guests.
- No café or restaurant inside the building and neither nearby: so if you want to eat, either you have to order, or you have to walk 15 min to find a restaurant. They also have a kitchen but I don't think people who travel want to cook for their own food after a long day in the hectic city of Delhi.

Just another info: the hostel is quiet and calm, after a certain time noise is not allowed and you need to go to bed. For us it was fine because it was the end of our trip in India, so we were not looking for parties or fun, but if you are looking for a party-every-day kinda thing it's not for you.

The place is just as it looks in the pictures. This was my second stay at this place and I absolutely loved it. Swapan Bhaiya (the caretaker) is really welcoming and always there to help. He makes amazing Maggie and Coffee. Cleanliness and Hospitality are the best part about this place.

Cozy and lively atmosphere.
Clean and comfortable dorm.
Staff is strict about rules as social place yet helpful and have maintained the property really well.
Rooftop is the best part at anytime of the day and no TV so you can have a disconnected time.
A bit tricky to find at first but overall loved the experience and stay.
Good place to be if you need to catch a flight.

It was good. The staff are friendly and well maintaining. If you ask anything they will help you immediately. Bathrooms also clean and hygiene. They extended my checkout time for 2 hours as I went out. Very near to US Embassy delhi.

Prior to checking in we had brief conversation in englosh on the phone whether or not a late check in past 11pm would be possible. The staff was super friendly and affirmed that we could check in as soon as we got a confirmation from hostelworld and that the front desk is available 24/7.
We arrived and the hostel twin room was clean and comfortable. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed chai on the rooftopterrace which is beautiful, spent some time in the hammock and explored the area.
Foodwise there is a really nice breakfast lunch dinner place (gupta dhaba) and lots of other tasty looking places.
The staff was super helpful with any request we had and even went so far as to accompany us to a shop to translate (all without asking for tips).

First of all the service was superb and great there is no doubt in it and secondly there is each and every basic needful things are present in the room! And the main thing is there behaviour the staffs are so so so nice that they will make your day especially Ujjal jana and his father sawpan jana they Both are so so so good! That they will make you stay better for sure….

The location of the hotel is a bit off. But the rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. The ginger tea is good here. Room punch/5 is a really huge room with bed, table, chair, mirrors and even hair dryer. They provide iron box and iron stand for free on need basis. This area has good and genuine leather goods if you want to purchase.

It's a good hostel, nice vibe here, common area and upstair open area is accessible for everyone who in the hostel. Very friendly staffs and neatly maintained infrastructure as well as the interior. They also maintain the cleanliness. Provide good service also.

One of the cheapest, peace, home environment and friendly environment hostel ever I visited. I spend a hours to talk to owner about this kind of hostel. Its famous for bed and breakfast in Indian. If you are going to visiting a new Delhi dont go any expensive hotel Don't waste your money to somewhere esle because jhuamgad hostel provide you all the service. I had there for 3 days everyday 10,15 foreigner visited every day. Evrybody when they visited they love this place

Located in a quiet yet, easily accessible area and also close to restaurants. Stayed in a private double room which was minimal yet perfect. Thank you for the stay!

Really chill and interesting vibe. The dorms are clean and colourful, and the food cheap and healthy (much safer than what's served on the streets, avoid that Delhi belly).

The staff here are so incredibly friendly and helpful! Salman was the best to help plan the rest of my trip in India! The breakfast and chai is delicious and hot, and the rooftop terrace is amazing. Seriously a great place!

This is a great place to stay if you want to get immersed in Delhi like a local. It's located in a safe neighborhood with fruit market, little shops and local cheap restaurants. The Metro Station is very close so it's easy to access touristic parts of the city. The rooms are very clean, hot shower and Wi-Fi work great and there is a wonderful rooftop to chill and relax. Breakfast is better than any other hostel I stayed in India and the staff is absolutely friendly and helpful. They really added up to my wonderful stay, thank you for everything!

The place is as friendly as home, though the surroundings are not too good and gives typical Delhi vibes, but who needs to bother about the locality when you get to have a comfortable space to relax your bones.

Facilities were good, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, hot water for showers after 20 min warm up and 24/7 reception. Easy to find and near good district if you enjoy Western restaurants and park. Staff was not rude but very unhelpful during check-in, bag storage, suggestions and all of the above. Next time in Delhi will choose different hostel.

Best hot shower we have had travelling in India. Beds in the dorms are very, very comfortable but lack curtains. Normally not an issue but in the 10 bed mixed dorm some people were very rude by turning the light on at 5am. Location is a bit far from everything.

I highly recommend staying at the establishment. Jugaad provides good security and service. The interiors are amazing, and the Toilets are clean. Friendly as well as professional. The faucets weren't working at first, upon notifying, the service person arrived within 15min and quickly mended. Quick, responsive & GREAT service.

Jugaad Hostels goes above and beyond for its customers! Rooms are tidy and spacious, there are good meals available and the staff are super willing to help! If your an international traveler they will give you tons of great recommendations for food.

This was the first hostel I stayed at in India. The staff is incredibly hospitable. Hot showers and comfortable beds. I forgot my kindle and went to Agra. I called the front desk and they helped me immediately. Got it back when we returned to Delhi. I ended up staying two more nights. I was given great recommendations for a night out in town. Felt safe the entire time. If your apprehensive about where to stay I would definitely recommend jugaad.

First stay at Jugaad was great! I got the airport pick up service which went very smoothly the driver had my name on a large piece of paper so I could see him as I walked out of the airport. I actually missed him but he came and found me forunately. During his stay it wasn’t particularly busy, but all the staff are nice, bedrooms clean, bedding very comfortable, and very helpful staff for helping you organize whatever you want to do around Delhi. The location is a bit far from places with restaurants 15-25min walk. They helped me get a SIM card upon arrival as well. Salman was particularly helpful with this as I left for Bodhgaya shortly after and had issues with the SIM card but we stayed in touched via whatsapp and ultimately it worked out (turns out you need to activate the SIM in the same city you buy it, I didn’t try until I was in Bodhgaya). I did come back to Delhi though and Salman helped me get it working once I came back, though he would’ve helped me even if I didn’t come to the hostel again I’m sure. The roof top is very nice and relaxing as is the common room. Great place to stay and hangout if your not in the mood to explore busy Delhi. That’s it for my first 3 day stay at jugaad. Oh they also helped get me a cab to the airport.

Second stay (2 days) great laundry service done, many more people staying at the hostel the second time I was here. Really got to see how the rooftop set up supports guests to chill and get to know each other, really comfortable area. Staff will help organize night events to bars/clubs in the area too if enough people are interested, helpful when you don’t know the area. They also help you book busses and trains neither of which I did but I observed a few guests helped in this way which was great. And continued excellent support for figuring out SIM cards for other guests, it’s not always a smooth process but these guys really help.

Located in a quieter section of Delhi, this hostel is great for those who want to be out of the chaos of Delhi, but also be able to jump in whenever they want! The hostel is clean and the staff are friendly as well (plus steaming hot showers are always great)

The neighborhood is also very safe as well. There are great hole-in-the-wall restaurants and shops to visit and the metro is only a 5 minute walk away.

Everything considered, you can't do much better than this hostel, especially at the price!

It's very good and cost effective option to spend a night in city like Delhi. Staff is helpful. Rooms and loos are clean. Just it's located little bit inside. And accessing this place at night time can be very tricky and little unsafe.

If in Delhi and you want to meet the most amazing people and travelers, I highly recommend staying at Jugaad.

The comfort level for a me as a Canadian traveler was amazing. Breakfast every morning is served on the rooftop including chai, toast egg and a banana.
The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, plants and art fill this wonderful space.
The room itself was very clean and the bed was super comfortable.
The staff are the best I have experienced in India, any request I had was met and exceeded.

I've been in other hostels during my stay in Delhi, and definitely Jugaad is the best one! I highly recommend it. It is located in South Delhi, close to Hauz Khas, where you can find nice restaurants and cool places to hang out. South Delhi is a quiet area though, which it is perfect to rest from chaotic Delhi. Nearby you can find street food and lots of shops (SIM cards, supermarket, printing, etc). Located on the 4th floor, the hostel provides great views over Delhi. Rooms are really clean and comfy. It has a large terrace to chill out and meet other travellers. Thanks to Shahzada and his team, this place has really good vibes. They were incredibly amazing and there is no doubt that they do things with passion. They do a good job, taking care of each guest and organizing tours (such as old Delhi tour, which was really good!) and some nights out. Even if you need some help to organize your trip, they will be willing to give you some tips and book trains or buses for you.

So Jugaad is the place to be! Thank you to all staff, can't wait to return back!

One of the best places I have stayed in India. Great location, friendly staff and amazing home cooked food.

It was an unpredictable plan to stay in Delhi as my Flight from Kulalampur to Cochin was cancelled on 15th August because of Flood in Kerala. So I opt to be in Delhi for some of my Job assignments. I really plan to stay in Jugaad Hostel for two days. Because I am reaching Airport late night. But it ended up to stay in 16 Days as of now booking it's because of the teams excellence in service quality.

I never felt that I am staying an unknown place/people. It's a feeling of being with family members. The team of Jugaad is amazing and extraordinary. Shivam, Ohm & Midhun are supportive guys. I enjoyed the time with them.

Highly recommended.
