1st of all its not a shop, so don't take pain of finding it. A man sells it standing on the road, proceed further from the paratha shops at the turning u will find him. ₹50 for 1 plate. Considering the effort to make it, the price is justified but the portion served is significantly less. Taste wise okay, it's so fluffy one might not even get the taste. The above sugar coating gives it the taste rather than the main item. However if u r a foodie it's worth giving a try.
Wow wow. A delicious and super light winter season speciality made from milk froth. It's so light that you can't stop at just one plate. It's served with some khoya and fine sugar sprinkled on. Sadly it's only available in winters. Also, you may find it difficult to locate. He stands majorly in Paranthe wali gali after 9-10am.
See first thing it is not a shop, a guy sells it on a Thela. I am from Varanasi where we call it Malaiyo and so I can compare it with what we get over there, This one lacks taste and also the quantity is too less.
'Sardiyon ka tohfa' is the name that I would give to this quirky so called 'chaat' which is exclusively available in the winters. Be clear it is not at all the chaat which has ingredients like curd, chutney, papdi, tikki, golgappa etc. It is sweet in taste and like whipped (light) cream. Its worth trying in just Rs. 50. This is not a shop but a vendor puts his stall in parantha wali gali. He also changes his location so you may have to ask to some local person.
This product is exactly same what i had at Moti Mahal, Hazratganj, Lucknow: Makhan Malai
I did not find it a great experience. To was no fine taste or fragrance. No doubt it was very light but they way toppings were put on was not at all good. For example the sugar should have been powedered which was not. Sugar and other topping should have been put on by creating layers etc.
The subtle and blissful taste of the daulat ki chat is beautiful. It melts into thin air as soon as you put it into your mouth and leaves behind only a rich taste of saffron and nuts. A must try dessert for anyone who finds themselves at chandni chowk in winter mornings. It is available only in winters from 10am to 2-4 pm.
He doesn't own a shop. So don't bother going to the location given. Instead call him & ask where he is because he usually roams all around Chandini Chowk selling.
This is quite unique chaat, feels like you are eating a sweet cloud: D funny right? Do try it. Thumbs up from my side. [made of milk or cream and some sweet like gudh]
Great. Tasted it for the first time and found as expected. It made worth visit to chandni chowk. As it is availaible at many places in chandni chowk but most easily can be found in paratha wali gali. There are many vendors selling it on cycle. Generally it is availaible only in winter. Wish it will also be availaible in other places of Delhi and outside Delhi.
Kind of overrated. Only eat if your stomach is already full. Otherwise you will need to eat 5-10 plates to actually feel something has gone down in your stomach.
Daulat Ki Chat is Old Delhi's hidden gem. A dish that is only available here. You may find the original one somewhere in Paranthewale Gali rest all are fake. It takes quite a few hours to churn milk to make the froth overnight and saffron is added for a sweet taste. The best time to have this is during winters! If you want to know more about the dish, you can ask the person serving he's very friendly.
