Me and my friend were waiting to pay at the counter. Nobody had greeted us. As soon as some foreigners walked in, all the staff started greeting them. This was pre-Covid. I hope things have changed now.
I have tried thier Falafel Sandwich, its was pre-prepared not freshly made. Patty inside was very dry, bread was hard. And the whole sandwich was just dry and tasteless.
In same cost, you can go to next shop Big chill and have best ever sandwiches which are freshly prepared and tasty.
It was a wonderful experience overall. Had a mixed berry smoothie and tiramisu from here. The prices of the items are a bit expensive compared to Indian market. Afterall it is Khan Market, no wonder in fancy prices.
Today, I bought an assorted pack of macarons. They were really stale. Cannot understand how La Opera can sell it. Am really upset at the decline in standards.
The best bakery store in town. Excellent breads, pastries, viennoiseries, in short like in France but not only.because there are also very appetizing sandwiches and at this moment we had the pleasure to discover the chocolate eggs for the Easter holidays! Great! And the drinks are not in rest because you will be able to take a coffee on the spot or an excellent hot chocolate classic. Be careful not to come in groups because the store is small.
Too overpriced for a pastry that doesn't offer much in terms of taste. At such prices, there is no room for any excuse for taste. The quality of ingredients was good but taste needs to be better. Tried Lopera for the first time but not sure if I will try their desserts again.
Lovely, quiet little French patisserie and bakery which offers a wide range of breads, pastries, pies, croissants, and more. It's fairly small, so there's not a lot of seating space, but there are a couple of two-seater tables, as well as several high stools with a counter. They offer tea and coffee as well, so it's a nice place to have coffee and a snack that's far better than the usual type offered by chain coffee stores!
Oh how poor quality stuff and over priced. The staff has the worst behaviour they feel they are some celebrities because they represent a high end brand. The quality of food is really poor and when asked about the problem the staff gives you irrelevant logic.
Very very nice place but one of the staff members was so so rude. Otherwise it's great decor, great vibe, good music selection and most importantly amazing desserts.
Regret a negative review of Laopera for the first time Had a mushroom queechee and despite requesting for a warm dish it was packed COLD and didn't like have the same at all. Coffee was also more of froth and less of coffee Thoroughly disappointed this time
Hope they improve next time
Today it was a complete waste of money despite paying so much premium
Would have been better to pick up a snack and coffee from some other store - just felt like that
A high end pastries & cakes with bread & croissants and French pastries. There is also a possibility of good coffees and some juices. In khan market a popular destination in elite of Delhi. Good place to go and enjoy French delicacy. Those who know, knows what are French pastries & croissants & cakes. L’opera is doing it well. Go and enjoy the place very well maintained. Opens 8am until almost midnight.
Best bakery, pastry, savoury products available in the whole of Khan Market. Extremely courteous staff, beautiful outlet, and ensure timely deliveries. Strongly urge customers to try the pizza tomato, almond croissant, almond nougatine biscuit and roasted tomato and pesto sandwich.
Super yummy French pastries, cakes & other food for foodies with a healthy budget! Starting around ₹165/- plus GST for chocolate croissant, all their flour is imported from France! I easily spend ₹1000/- each visit whether dine in or takeaway combination. Definitely value worthy.
It’s a very fancy place with average food. I had chicken quiche that tasted so dry and also had chicken bones in it. We also ordered a regular cold coffee that was half of the product while the rest was foam. I don’t understand the hype about this place… it really is not as spectacular. It’s not worth the money because the food tasted basic. Heck! They can’t even make a proper cinnamon role (very little cinnamon and more banana flavored). The place is practically a joke created to fool people with money to come and buy third grade baked goods. We got a bottle of mustard but tomato ketchup packets…. How weird … even Mcdonals can do better than this. We were not offered water and we also had to ask for tissue. The cutlery provided was disposable…and served as a huge contrast in respect to the “L’Opera” (being all fancy) and then using disposable cutlery (not so fancy). If the excuse here is to claim they are eco friendly … these sharp wooden forks tend hurt the cows eating the trash. Just like all other Delhi restaurants they had Punjabi music playing through the speakers. Strange place, would not recommend.
It is okay. I have eaten pastries here. Quality is nice but prices are a little more in comparison to quality. Also, restaurant's space is little less. They don't have a menu.
I ordered in the oh so famous Royal chocolate pasrty! And it is soo soo soo goooodddd!
It has cream in the middle, a crispy choclate crust layer and a crunchy bottom layer when all of it taken together in a bite makes your dil goes hummmmmm!
Gives you such a happy happy feeling! 10/10 recommended!
Tried this piece in L'Opera. Quiet and calm ambience. Taste and quality both were good too would've been a cherry on top if the quantity would've been a little more because we went to Big chill cakery and had one more piece over there All and all its a fine place if you need a change from the classics.
On my recent trip to Delhi, I was searching through Zomato as I was craving for good desserts. I stumbled upon this patisserie and while checking out the reviews and photos, it fascinated me a lot.
A cozy little place in Khan market, is always jam packed on weekends. With such pretty decor, this place looks absolutely amazing.
We tried few of their signature desserts!
1. Chocolate Mille Feuille: made up of three layers of puff pastry with chocolate pastry cream. Probably the best Mille feuille I had in recent times.
2. Raspberry Mousse: the mousse was properly set. It was light and airy. The infuse of raspberry flavour gave it a perfect tangy taste, which was soo dammm good!
3. Lemon Tart Meringue: it’s more like a lemon curd tart except it is topped with sweet meringue. Had it for the very first time and it was pretty decent.
I would love to come back to this place whenever I’m in Delhi next. You guys should definitely check this place out. They serve amazing desserts and sides.
I ordered macarons and croissant. Macarons was very delicious. On the other hand croissant was kinda buttery from inside. Tried french bread for the first time:) :)
It used to be super good back in 2011 when they had just started but with time greed tool over the taste and quality. Now they are like any other chain of restaurant. Because back in 2011-2012 they were using French butter and French Flour for all their produce, but later with increase in demand they compensated with local stuff so it's an Indian version of Patisserie and Boulangrie!
A nice and boutique coffee shop situated in the up-market area of Khan market. This place got some nice and fine interiors which are good for a coffee. Their bakery product's are good as well. This is not so fancy and famous like coffee day or star bucks but if you are looking for a coff e shop in a little quaint setting then this is your stop.
A moodily lit and quaint bakery in Khan Market where you can get the best version of your favourite bakery desserts. We had the cheesecake and macaroons and both were melt in your mouth delicacies
Love this place. Been to saket and khan market branch and love this cozy and cute ambiance. They have wide variety of macrons, pastries, cakes, breads, Tarts and cookies. They also have quiches and amazing cheese croissants. My favorite from here are chocolate and Raspberry macrons, chocolate and cheese croissants, Nutty chocolate treat pastry and chocolate and banana Tea cake. Place is but pricey but if you have a sweet tooth and don't like to compromise on your taste buds than you will not miss this place.
This place knows how to make gourmet desserts. Absolutely delightful. Millefeuille was a tad bit disappointing given its texture and presentation but the overall spread on offer is tantalizing enough to warrant a lazy afternoon's worth of time. Coffee is good. Space is scant so I'd recommend getting in early.
One of my favourite branches of L’Opéra. Staff are well trained and quick to help out, picked up my weekly baguette and croissants plus some pastries. They have limited seating mostly on high chairs and they serve coffee and tea along with their patisserie collection.
To anyone touched by and experience of authentic French food culture this is the closest you can get to France's trademark boulangeries and patisseries. Hyperbole? I don't think so. In microcosm, L'Opera's flagship boulangerie and patisserie in New Delhi's Khan Market is redolent of Laurent Salamandari's très, très French enterprise. Fuelled and propelled by his Mother Christine Salamandari-Hakim and father Kazem Salamandari. A family of Iranian extraction but VERY French in the way a certain class of Iranian was. They came from Paris (long story!) and to India's advantage settled in Delhi. Starting with the French Embassy they opened their first outlet in Khan Market. Today, they have 14 outlets in Delhi NCR - and counting. There's no compromise with quality and authenticity. Does that come at a price? Yes, it does. If I moan about the price, I can always fly to Paris and get the same stuff at a fraction of the cost - provided I factor-in the airfare! The wheat for the breads has to be just right with the right gluten content. Otherwise how do you get the trademark"holes" in the baguette, a water-bread? ! How do you make croissants with the right degree of crispness without lashings of butter? So, the butter has to be imported. Where, as in the case of the butter, an equivalent is now available locally, it is sourced locally. Similarly, the cakes, pastries, macaroons, biscuits et al are made with the same uncompromising approach. Authenticity is the touchstone. You'll get croissants elsewhere in India. However, the resemblance ends with the curved shape (it doesn't have to be curved, by the way). No fusion rubbish for L'Opera. You want French? You get it and the price has to be paid. It's the "real deal" as the Americans would say. Is it worth it? You decide. Remember, as the saying goes in another context: If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys! Experience it regularly or on a special occasion (as in my case, my brother-in-law's 92nd birthday!), relish the authenticity and imagine yourself on "Boul-mich" in Paris or, indeed, anywhere in France for the authentic boulangerie/patisserie experience.
