It's really beautiful place. It's a place especially for meditation. Surrounding is full of greenery. Before going inside, you have to submit your footwears to collection place. There are sack bags available into which you put your footwears. No charges for entry.

Delhi is a matchless architectural marvel and one of the prime tourist attractions of the National Capital. Shaped in the form of a spectacular lotus with white petals, it makes for a break-taking sight and attracts countless visitors throughout the year. Unlike most other places of worship, this temple or Bahai House of Worship does not allow ritualistic ceremonies and has no fixed pattern to conduct worship. A glorious symbol of oneness, this place of worship must be on your itinerary when planning a trip and booking your hotels in Delhi.

It is a peaceful and clam visit here. The only issue is you have to wait in the hot sun until you can go into the main sanctum.

It's a soothing place as you can go inside the monument and pray or meditate in the calmness. There's nothing much to see there. The gardens are well maintained but the entry is prohibited there. So, you just see the monument and sit inside for free.

I think it more of like meditating place than merely the wondering place. Secondly this place well maintained one point for that, just remember one thing never visits this place on Sundays. It would be like you are trapped in a jail and you have to follow the qeue and just come back. Based on my own experience. Ultimately it is a beautiful place to visit even after all these facts. But it would better if they would allow people to roam around the monument and relax spend some time with that spectucalar view of lotus temple. Also we should not reuin it beauty it our duty as a good citizens

Went through Kalkaji Metro from where its walkable. There was a small queue at the entrance and there is no entry fee here.
It was my second visit after many years. The complex is wonderful and gardens are great. Post covid, the entry is restricted inside the meditation hall.
The temple architecture is beautiful and the atmosphere in the surroundings is great. The water in the 9 ponds beneath the temple is very clean. We went around and captured a few pictures.
On the way back, visited the Information centre which is just ok.

The temple is located in the village of Bahapur in New Delhi,  National Capital Territory of Delhi. The architect was an Iranian,  Fariborz Sahba who now lives in La Jolla, California, [12] after living some years in Canada. [13] He was approached in 1976 to design the Lotus Temple and later oversaw its construction. The structural design was undertaken by the UK firm Flint and Neill over the course of 18 months, [5] and the construction was done by ECC Construction Group of Larsen & Toubro Limited[14] at a cost of $10 million. [1] The major part of the funds needed to buy this land was donated by Ardishír Rustampúr of Hyderabad, Sindh, who gave his entire life savings for this purpose in 1953. [15] A portion of the construction budget was saved and used to build a greenhouse to study indigenous plants and flowers that would be appropriate for use on the site. [16]
Of the temple's total electricity use of 500 kilowatts (kW), 120 kW is provided by solar power generated by solar panels on the building. [17] This saves the temple 120,000 rupees per month. [17] It is the first temple in Delhi to use solar power. [17]

Great architecture and well maintained environment. Campus is well maintained, free of cost to enter and see the beauty around. The cleanliness is commendable, so is the staff behaviour. You can see varieties of flowers and well maintained trees.

It is the one of the beautiful tourist place in delhi. Before visiting Lotus Temple, keep in mind that it is a very serene place and you will be required to follow several rules Once you are inside the premises, you will not be allowed to click pictures. They are quite stringent about the rules so make sure to respect them. You are allowed to sit there in silence and meditate for as long as you want to. There was a long queue outside since at any point of time, only a handful of people are allowed inside. I personally liked the exterior more than the interiors, and spent more time outside the temple, admiring its splendid architecture, taking pictures, and taking a stroll in the surrounding gardens.

Lotus temple is one of attractions of New Delhi. As we all know that lotus temple has an awesome architecture and great historical importance. I know that everybody wants to know the history behind it. Here in this post I am going to tell you about historical importance of lotus temple and awesome architecture of it.it is also known as bahai temple.it is most visited monuments in India. Construction of bahai temple is completed in year of 1986. You must be interested why it is named lotus temple. Many of people are saying that this temple looks like a lotus in shape and because of it is known as lotus temple. But this is half-truth. Lotus is a symbol of love and purity. It gives the message of immortality. And because of this bahai temple is designed like a lotus flower and it is known as lotus temple.this temple is famous in world for its architecture. This awesome architecture is built by Persian architect Fariborz Sahba from Canada. So it is the brief history of bahai temple. Marble, cement, dolomite, and send were used in construction of lotus temple. If you look this temple from top view it looks like half opened lotus temple. Construction of this architecture takes 10 years to complete. There are 800 people who have worked in construction of this temple. This team includes engineers, technicians, and workers. Outside of this temple there are nine reflecting pools. This temple has nine doors. White marble is used in construction of this temple and because of this beauty of temple is increased. Height of lotus temple is 40 meters. I visited here lots of time but never feel boring to visit again and again.

The Lotus Temple was consecrated and opened to the public in December 1986. It was designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, who won acclaim for the project even before the temple was completed. It subsequently received several awards.

The Lotus Temple derives its name from its design. Like every other Bahāʾī mashriq, it is characterized by a nine-sided construction, in keeping with the Bahāʾī belief in the mystical properties of the number nine. Set on an elevated plinth in a 26-acre (10.5-hectare) expanse of landscaped gardens and surrounded by nine pools bordered by red sandstone walkways, the white marble edifice rises to a height of more than 130 feet (40 metres). The temple complex comprises 27 independent marble “petals, ” which are clustered into groups of three to form nine sides (through which open nine entrances into a central space) and into groups of nine to form three concentric rings. Petals in the first ring face outward, forming canopies over the nine entrances. The second ring covers the outer hall. In the innermost ring, the petals curve inward to partially enclose the central prayer hall, which accommodates about 2,500 people. The top of the structure appears open but actually contains a glass-and-steel roof that admits natural daylight. The overall effect is that of a floating lotus flower on the verge of blooming and surrounded by its leaves.

The building is beautiful. You can wrap up the spot in 30 min to 1 hour. Please be aware the bathrooms has no soap, no toilet paper, and no paper towels for hand drying.

It's design is like Opera House of Sydney, Australia. This is holy and spiritual place. I highly recommend this place if you want peace. Inside the temple there are just chairs placed and you only seat there and feel the positive vibes only. From outside people take lots of photos which looks good also. Temple is surrounded by garden which looks beautiful.

The Lotus Temple is beautiful both inside and out. Be aware that sometimes it will close unexpectedly—we originally went and waited two hours while the grounds were closed and expecting them to be opened again that day, but eventually were told they would remain closed the rest of the day (I think due to inclement weather).
We went back a few days later, however, and were not disappointed. The grounds are exquisite and the chance to mediate/pray/peacefully contemplate inside the temple was one in a million.
Be aware that the ground are not open during the evening, but we still dropped by after dark to view the temple lit up from outside the gates. Just as beautiful.
The temple isn’t far from the train stop, but expect about a 10 minute walk on an slightly inclined dirt path to get to the temple. It isn’t strenuous and is easy to find (there are lots of signs).

One of the only 9 Baha’i temples in the world so worth a visit. Big and beautiful structure, no ticket cost.
Baha'i house of worship is one of the serene and tranquil place for your spirituality to connect and flourish.

Interesting place to visit, one of the architectural beauties that Delhi has. The interior view of the structure and the pools outside a sight.

Great place. If you want to unwind yourself of all the stresses and tensions of the city sure give this place a visit. I personally find it very calming and soothing. You get to see many other things there too like the gardens etc.
P. S. - Try to skip a visit here on national holidays because on those days due to the heavy rush the doors to the temple are closed and you will not be allowed to enter inside.

This is an amazing place, it's very peaceful, and beautiful. Even though there are lots of visitors daily visiting here, it's very quiet. I went here in June and it was very hot. They don't allow shoes here and I have to walk on the hot road it was wet but the stone gets hot in summer and with the sun on the top you can't enjoy so I would recommend to go in any different season.

The place is very close to the metro station.
I will suggest that a person coming to Delhi must visit the place and sit there sometime and feel the soul.

Such an amazing place. The administration was a peace loving community who expertly handled the crowd that refused to stay in a single file carrying their shoes in plastic bags.the hall inside had the inlays of a church and had a powerful energy inside. A man walked up to the podium and recited verses from different religious scriptures and sang with such a melodious voice that reverberated off the walls. It was soulful.
