The place is not at all crowded. When we visited this place there was just one server who was managing everything and he was quite courteous. But the good things just end here. Food was not at all up to the mark be it veg dishes or non veg items. In the starters the paneer tikka was aweful, so was the mutton ribs. Only saving grace was the yakhani gravy in veg and non veg items. It’s quite pricey for such poor quality food.
Very good experience. The food and service were both great. A tad expensive (we paid ₹2700 for two people). Surprisingly, the place was completely deserted on a Saturday evening.
One of the best places to eat Kashmiri food in Delhi. Location is Jammu and Kashmir house. The Tabak Maaz is brilliant. And the Rista is lovely. We always have a great meal at Mealability. The service staff is very friendly. However the place is pretty empty for dinner.
Loved the vegetarian platter as a veg visitor from Malaysia. Authentic Kashmiri flavors for anyone looking to try Kashmiri food. Totally felt different from the average Indian food out there in Delhi. Loved the Kahwa! Also hope noon chai is brought to menu. Overall a good place to experience authentic Kashmiri cuisine!
Mealability was a beautiful experience on the whole! They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the restaurant is located inside Jammu and Kashmir House on Amrita Shergill Marg. We ordered batter fried lotus stem (nadir maunj) for starters and were pleasantly surprised by the flavour and crunch. It was unlike other lotus stem starters we had eaten before. It was served along with mildly spiced raw onions and grated radish in curd (muji chetin). We ordered both a non vegetarian Tarami (Kashmiri thaali) as well as a vegetarian tasting platter, which is the best way to taste the various traditional dishes that make up the Kashmiri wazwan. It was a fulfilling meal with everything from goshtaba, tabak maaz, nadru yakhni, dum oluv, haakh, rista and more, accompanied by simple boiled rice, a sweet and cold phirni, topped off with a mild and piping hot glass of kahawa. The rogan josh was slightly lacking in salt but overall the portions, prices, and flavours were excellent. A must visit if you have an hour to spare and are looking to try out authentic Kashmiri food. Beautiful, calm and quiet ambience. Friendly service.
The place was empty- I think sign #1 for us to just run!
Jokes aside- the food was authentic, however undercooked. The goshtaba balls were medium rare from the inside and not as finely hammered down as I’ve had in Kashmir.
The ribs starter was a disaster, two portions for a family of four. Absolutely not tender and just fat fried, it was a pain to even eat it and swallow.
Overall, not worth the money they charged. If they can work on their dishes and make increase the portion sizes a tad bit and add some flavour/for that matter just cook the meat, it’ll work!
Mealability is a Kashmiri restaurant in J& K house at Prithvi Raj road. Location is excellent as entry is from Amrita Shergill marg. Outdoor sitting under trees is excellent too. But meal itself is not upto the mark. Kahwa was not good at all. Rogan Josh was also not good. Portion size is small too. Altogether a mixed experience.
Lunch today at Mealability was a mixed bag. Had gone with a lot of expectations based on reviews and chatter on Twitter. Excellent ambience, sitting outside with sound of water falling in the fountain, greenery, breeze! Ordered kahawa- excellent, sensational, enjoyed it tremendously. Main course was veg platter, roomali roti & rogan josh. Veg platter was a complete sampler of vegge main courses on the menu- enjoyable & sumptuous. Rogan josh had to be sent back, not eatable really. The manager was more an advocate for the restaurant then a sympathetic listener to guest comments. Was actually advocating that Kashmiris like their rogan josh uneatable based on his 30 years of experience! Wow. Ordered for a Matasch kofta, nice and succulent, enjoyed. Would like to go back, I wonder though
Thankyou Sanjay Raina, my sister and Mealability team for bringing alive my son's birthday with the much missed Kashmiri Pandit part of his heritage. A surprise birthday present which won over a lot of foodie fans. We loved the koftas and khatte baingan. Liked the sooji phirni, though missed the traditional home cooked one. We especially called our friends over for dinner to enjoy and relish the meal with us.
Fantastic food. Portions could have been larger though. Small seating area. Would be a good idea to reserve a table in case going at a typically busy time
Awesome food. The food was aromatic and each item had a distinctive flavoring. I had requested that the food not be spicy (hot) as we were celebrating my mom’s birthday and she loves mutton but can’t handle chili and I was very happy that she enjoyed everything. Each item was fantastic but my favorite was the mutton yakni. Thanks very much.
It was a memorable 'Kashmir' evening we had @ Mealability. The aromas and flavours of the food will linger on forever. Difficult to make a choice between the Tabakmaaz, Gushtaba, Rista, Rogan Josh, Haak. What a meal. Topped by Phirni and the delicious Shufta. And ofcourse Chef Sanjay Raina who enlightened us on the nuances of Kashmiri cuisine. A must visit for anyone who wants a taste of Kashmir in Delhi.
Was there at 5, Prithviraj Road with school friends last week, and it was such an amazing experience. All being foodies and Restaurant Hoppers, our experience here was so good that we even skipped the drinks (which are always a pre-curser to any meal). Food was outstanding, service was friendly and thanks to Sanjay for planning the menu for us in such a way that we were able to savour many items. In fact we are planning an Evening with Mealability delivering to our South Delhi rondezvous. Kashmiri Cuisine King Sanjay Raina Rocks
Visited the place today, ambience was so decent n good due pandemic.wazwan meal was yummylicious.every dish was well cooked.manager who entertain us is very polite n smart.good place for kashmiri lovers.
Foodies, if you have missed this place, you have missed heaven. Come here if you are fond of Kashmiri food. Amazing service and do try Trami (Kashmiri Wazwan)
Had been to Mealability, 5- Prithviraj road for my birthday celebration alongwith the family members. Had a gala time, fantabulous food, so sumptious and above all the hospitality and excellent service. Keep it up Dear Sanjay Raina, made my day.
We ordered a Home Delivery selection for 12 people. Everything arrived well before time, neatly packed and labeled with zero spillage. Portions as recommended by Sanjay were adequate for us with some left overs to enjoy the next day. Food preparation was very good - we especially enjoyed the Rista and the Haakh Saag; special mention for the Saffron Phirni which Sanjay insisted we order.was worth every penny. The best part was the call after receiving the food to brief me on reheating instructions.excellent
[CovidUpdate] This is a hidden gem inside the heart of NCR. A must have if you would like to try out Kashmiri cuisine. The Kawa, the phirni, Tarimi all are next level. We went around 4PM and the place was empty so we enjoyed our lunch in peace, the ambience and the food was worth travelling here for. The manager is very friendly as well and suggests nice dishes. A must visit with family.
Mealability is an all time favourite for our family. Every time we think Kashmiri we order from here. Sanjay’s personal touch to the food makes the experience all the more wholesome.
Great Kashmiri food is available here. It is run by Sanjay Raina who is a thinking chef. Both Pandit and Muslim cuisine is available and time to time Jammu good is also on display in mealability. Roganjosh, Dum aalo and Haaq was great. Gustaba was on the saltier side but rista was terrific. Service is good and food in evening will make it a great experience
Ordered Wazwan for a group of 10 a couple of weeks ago, very good service and even better food. Would highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Kashmiri food.
