We had an incredible visit to the National Museum in Delhi. The exhibits are a treasure trove of India's rich history and culture. The artifacts are beautifully displayed, and the audio guides are informative. The staff is friendly and helpful. A must-visit for anyone interested in India's heritage!
It's a place to experience the real Indian and it's subcontinent's wide history and culture. The place is rich and famous on almost every aspect of Indian culture as one of my personal favourite exhibits is the Indus valley civilization. As it is highly informative and mentained in the museum as it's worth spending time and learn a lot about the history and culture it doesn't matter how many times you visit it's always worth it every penny. As the new technology also focuses on the new generation to learn using the smart and interactive screen in the museum

The National Museum. It is a very nice selection of Indian history with some beautiful pieces. I just wish that money could be spent on displays and maintenance.
An excellent Museum that houses a vast display of hundreds of invaluable exhibits that offer a great insight into the history and culture of the Indian sub-continent.
National Museum has several conserved things from the oldest civilization 'The Indus Valley Civilization' and other popular dynasties of India. There are cultural outfits of different regions like North East. I have visited the Museum some 3-4 months back and most of the museum was under construction.

My visit to the museum was great. You can even spend the whole day here if you have keen interest. It is very spacious, I went alone and still had a great time overall.

It's always nostalgic to visit the National Museum in Delhi. Expertly curated, it's a great visit for anybody learning or looking to revisit their history lessons from school. The museum claims to have free guided tours daily at 1030 and 1430 hrs but there was no guide around the day we visited. Audio guides are no longer available for use (Covid rules) but many artifacts have a QR code that you can scan to listen to an Audio description.
National museum is the perfect place to learn and enjoy the rich culture we have inherited from our ancestors. It showcases the history through beautiful carvings, statues, scriptures, paintings, coins, handicrafts, weapons, attire and much much more! Never ceases to delight and a must visit for people interested in knowing our varied and beautiful history.
Wonderful place, under renovation and many portions closed. The artefacts are well laid out, good audio n video QR codes. Plan to be in time for guided tours conducted by volunteers at 11 n 2: 30 pm. Better to read up on history n u wud be able to enjoy it better. Don't miss the free puzzles, white canvas sheets kept outside, do take out time to sketch n paint if u can. Museum shop is average, overpriced and ok ok. Lawns outside are well maintained. It's easy to reach and maybe relocated soon. So visit soon.
Great place to learn about your history. Wish it had shows but apart from it l, it's fantastic. Always go pre reading Indian History for better understanding of what's there. Needed 5-6 hours minimum for visiting.
I really liked the place it was very neat and clean. It is one of the largest museums in India. Contains a variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art.
Good place to give a visit with Freinds and family, ₹ 20 entry fee for adults, remains closed on Monday. Learn many things about civilization, cultures, coins. #Proud to Be an
Like always, half of the museum is under renovation and thus entry is prohibited. Especially the Historical Jewellery Section. Make sure you call and confirm about the areas closed.

It is under renovation. Those who have passion to see the oldest idols, traditional items of different civilizations in India can enjoy otherwise it will be bored.
Good place. Those who have a keen interest in history and cultures should surely visit the place.
You may find interesting arts and crafts. Inside the museum, you'll various culture's museums as the Harappa museum and all. There is a skeleton of a woman with bangles in her hand that depicts she was married.
Few may find this museum boring like me. But you can have little fun there if you are going in a group. And can click good photos there.
So many galleries are closed. Money and time wasted. I visited this place third time. Equally disappointed every time. Plz.open all the galleries or at least half of them.
Amazing Place for specially History and archeology student. Lots of artifacts and antiquity here which represent from ancient to mediaeval indian history. Very knowledgeable place.
Quite a big museum with a lot of historical treasures. If you're into history, you'd probably need a few days to explore each and every exhibit at the museum.
Apparently this museum is being taken down for the central vista project so the exhibits would be shifted somewhere else, not sure where.
The entry ticket costs 20 rupees for Indian and SAARC adult citizens. Photography using your phone is allowed without having to pay anything extra for it.
A Must visit for people interested in History, From Harappa to Freedom movement it provides a insightful glimpse of Indian history. I had a Privilege to touch 4000 year Indus Valley seal, to seeing first copper statue of the world, to magnificent art of cholas, Pandavas.
The breathtaking sculptures of Harsha period and copper statues of Nataraj, to Mughal architecture and colonial history it is a sort of a mesmerising time travel.
Lighting can be improved, otherwise everything is Good.
A must visit place for every indian Museum has vast collection of artefacts which are divided in different sections for different periods of indian history
Presentation leaves a lot to be desired.it's like a half-baked effort. I little desire to improve or make it world class.it's a typical. CHALTAA HAI. DISPLAY OF ARTI- FACTS. LIGHTING IS BAD.
This is one of the close place to my heart it's been 5 years in delhi and I have been here for near 7 to 8 times every time it looks fresh and take you to another level.if you visit delhi place make a plan for this place also.it will take around 3 to 5 hours to complete this museum and you can find structures and antiquities.it has a Rs. 20/- ticket for the Indians.
One of the finest places you can visit in Delhi. Great source of knowledge and infact just to see how great out history is. Here you will see everything about Indian history as old as mesopotamia to as new as Indra Gandhi. This should definitely be in your list to visit.
The entry ticket is pretty cheap at Rs 40 per head. Parking is free and is just outside the entry gate. Museum houses a unexpectedly small collection given that it's The National museum. Some very famous artifact's like Dancing girl and Pashupati seal amongst others can be seen here.
National Museum is open nowadays. This museum has decent artifacts of India's past & present. However, the Kolkata National Museum is far far better in manner of availability of artefacts, planning or Galleries.
There is a small parking place available near its Gate No 3. Full museum is located in G+2 Floors. No food joint is available inside the Museum. Overall, a average experience.
The National Museum, located at Rashtrapati Bhavan was inaugurated on August 15,1949 by Shri Rajagopalachari, the Governor General of India. The foundation stone for the new building at the present location was laid on May 12,1955 by Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India. The building was inaugurated by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India, on December 18,1960.
That was amazing the coins collection was the most beautiful thing in that museum and the gods of every country was there that was also a great thing. ️
Beautiful experience. Has around 200000 pieces. Make sure you take out a whole day to visit this place. It has artifacts from all over south east asia wich date around 1-2 BC
Awesome place for someone with interest in history. Great collection of sculptures, numismatics and treasure of knowledge of Indian history. Lot of scope of improvements in look and feel of the museum. Good amount of investment required in technology to improve the information base of each artefacts.
Superb. Hey to see plenty of mind boggling valuable relics from the past. Must go if you are a human. Period. Houses ancient relics from distant past. Skeleton of a women is well preserved. Also houses a Japanese pagoda. Many Buddhist come and pay tribute and worship.
A great place to learn about Indian history from ancient civilization to modern times. Fees only Rs. 20. Audio guide with headphones available for Indian as well as foreign tourists.
Offers vast treasure of miniature paintings, sculptures, ancient weaponry and models. A movie on Indian independence is also shown.
A very well maintained museum. I have been to Tokyo National Museum and I think it is equally well maintained.
Considerable amount of time is required to cover the entire place. Some sculptures and art works are beyond imagination. Must visit museum for art students and also for the history enthusiasts. Entry fee is 20 per person for indian nationals and around 500 INR for foreigners.
It located in heart of New Delhi nearby the famous India Gate. Established in 1949, it is one of the largest museums in India, managed and governed by Ministry of Culture, India. One would require two-three visits to see and comprehend the entire set of exhibits if interested in Indian history and cultural legacy. Admissions are open between 10 AM till 6 PM on all days except Mondays (weekly off) and on national holidays. The lighting, display windows/shelves have been improved over the years, and now give a modern feel. There are well maintained washrooms on each floor, and a souvenir shop on the second floor. Ticket rates are minimal and there is hardly any queue- which reflects waning interest of masses in such an intellectual activity. The exhibits can summarized as- Coins, Vedic Scriptures, Architectural/Art Pieces and variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. It is a must see attraction.
Very Nice. Place each and every history student should be visit here. This place is very importent to historical and archeological aspect of historians.

Established in 1949, it holds variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. It functions under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The museum is situated on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road. The blue–print of the National Museum had been prepared by the Gwyer Committee set up by the Government of India in 1946. The museum has around 200,000 works of art, both of Indian and foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years. The roots of the National Museum begin with an exhibition of Indian art and artefacts at the Royal Academy in London in the winter of 1947-48. At the end of the London exhibition, the exhibition curators had decided to display the same collection intact in India before returning the artefacts to their individual museums. The Indian exhibition was shown at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in 1949, and was so successful that it led to the decision to form a permanent National Museum. On 15 August 1949, the National Museum was formally inaugurated by the then Governor-General of India, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari. At that time, it was decided that until a permanent home could be found for the collection, it would continue to be housed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
