I discovered this really interesting museum in Delhi while walking by. The building's outside is so pretty (it's in a book shape front the side view), and when you go in, it's super neat and organized. What caught my attention the most were the statues – they looked real and told stories about the past.
I found out that the museum is close to a metro station, which is great for getting there easily. The best part? It's completely free to visit! I took a tour, and even though the museum isn't huge, I got to learn quite a bit about history in less than an hour. It's like a little hidden world with a lot to offer.
Why this great Memorial is not added In the list of Delhi visiting places, this is Called not giving any values to Dalits in the society, if you Love Ambedkar then this should be in the first place of Delhi trip.

One of the best memorial on any legend in the city.interactive, all informative and immersive experience.also the food lovers have the reason to come here as food is super cheap and affordable.cons- the meditation centre could've been better throug!
This memorial is very good for those who want to seek knowledge about Formation of constitution of India. The staff is very kind and supportive, even they provide a guide to explain the importance of the things related to constitution in the memorial.
A worthy gesture of remembering one of the great and quite exceptional man. State conscientiously heeded to the task of creating a spectacle to match the posthumous grandeur of Babasaheb. One library would have been a great addition. To read his works.

The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) was a museum focusing on nature, located in New Delhi, India. Established in 1972 and opened in 1978, the museum functioned under the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the government of India. The museum was situated on Barakhamba Road at Tansen Marg in central New Delhi, across from the Embassy of Nepal, near the Connaught Place metro station. On 26 April 2016, the museum building and its entire collection were destroyed by a fire.

The absolute best place dedicated to the architect of the constitution of India Dr. Bhimrao ambedkar. A great collection of his struggles and achievements, his journey through out up and downs, from photos to statues, everything is just on point at this place, theplace is neat and clean with an indoor cafeteria. And yes this place is free, you only have to buy parking charges if you visit in a vehicle. It's a must visit place for those who recognise the importance of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, one true hero of the oppressed and the weak. There's also an indoor meditation room with a beautiful white Buddha statue sitting in meditating position. I'll leave some photos below to tell rest of the story.
A great place to visit and feel the proud. Very good atmosphere and the life journey of Baba Saheb Dr B R Ambedkar explained very well. Canteen facility is available at affordable price but limited items are available. Come before 6: 30 Pm in the winter. Visit with your family and enjoy.
Nice museum But staff behavior not well. Those people were fighting amongst themselves and were shouting loudly and the staff there do not have the right way to talk
It's amazing place due to Dr. B. R.way stay there. And also available the instrument which is used by dr. Babasaheb so this place most important nd More valuable. I love this place. If possible use should visit.

Better place to know about the history of our great person who was the main Architect of our Constitution “Dr. B R Ambedkar”. Some of the other main features of memorial are: - 1. Great to learn about our Constitution. 2. It has animation at superb level. 3. Entry is free and it opens all days except Monday. 4. Parking facility available in basement. 5. Cafeteria food is tasty with nominal rates.
The NMNH was created in 1972 as part of the celebration of the 25th year of India's independence. Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India, said that India needed such a museum "to promote environmental awareness". [1][2] After several years of development of its building and exhibits, the NMNH opened in 1978, on World Environment Day (5 June). [2]
Following a negative government report in 2012 regarding the building's poor state of maintenance, [4] in July 2015, plans were made to relocate the museum to a ₹ 2.50 billion ($39.4M, €36.4M, or £25.3M as of July 2015) green-certified building at Bhairon Marg, [2] where "The zoological park is close by, [and] so are the National Crafts Museum, Purana Qila and National Science Centre. "[7] Regional Museums of Natural History are located in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Mysuru, and Sawai Madhopur.
26 Alipur Road where Dr BR Ambedkar breathed his last is known as Mahaparinirvana Bhoomi. The memorial has been designed to look like a constitution in the form of a book and is spread in nearly 2 acres. This building is an amalgamation of modern and Buddhist architecture. Musical fountains, a replica of the Ashoka pillar at Sarnath and a 12 foot high bronze statue are some of the highlights of this complex. The first floor houses high quality displays related to Babasaheb's life. The lower level of the two-storied building has an exhibition gallery, where days spent by Ambedkar on the premises have been illustrated. His last days and journey have also been captured vividly. And this unique interactive table is a delight for Constitution lovers. It is full of information on Baba Saheb and the Indian Constitution. The Memorial also has a meditation hall with a Marble statue of Mahatma Buddha. The stone used is in the area has been imported from Vietnam
The museum is good, attractive and beautifully designed. Location is good too. Must visit museum. And there is lot to know about the life of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
One of the best place in Delhi to go to. It's a quite place and very beautiful place. This used to be the home of Baba saheb before his death, which was converted into a museum few years back. The museum covers whole life of Baba saheb. There is a guide facility available, or you can get an app downloaded which acts as your guide. As the building is a government building, there is very less information about his fight againat casteism. There is a beautiful part in the basement where you can see the room as baba saheb kept it. It is a really good place. The canteen is also good.
Dr B R Ambedker national memorial is a great place to visit I feel proud after visit here
The NMNH owes its genesis to Smt. Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister, who while considering new projects to be initiated in 1972 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of India's Independence, decided that the country needs a Museum of Natural History to depict its flora, fauna and mineral wealth to provide an out of school facility for education of children and to promote environmental awareness among the masses. The NMNH opened its doors to the public in a rented building in Mandi house on 5th June 1978, coinciding symbolically with the World Environment Day.
From a single Museum located in New Delhi, the NMNH has extended its geographical range by establishing Regional Museums of Natural History (RMNH) in many parts of the Country such as Southern Region (Mysore), Central Region (Bhopal) and Eastern Region (Bhubaneswar). Two more Museums are being established in Western Region (Sawai Madhopur) and North-Eastern Region (Gangtok).
A grand memorial depicting the struggle of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's life made in India. Especially the mannequin that looks exactly like them is a special attraction.
I really got tears in my eyes after hearing the story of Bhimrao Ambedkar Bhimrao Ambedkar has given us the rights of common citizens by facing many troubles. SC community will be grateful to Babasaheb throughout his life Babasaheb came as the God of Scheduled Caste Society Manuwadi people have born very above the SC category

It has become a landmark not only in Delhi but also in our country. People visit this memorial to know about the life and ideals of Baba Saheb. This memorial (the main building) has been given the shape of a book because Baba Saheb was the brain behind the drafting of the Constitution of India. He showed the path of democracy to the largest democratic country of the world. The Indian government declared five sites related to Baba Saheb as Panchtirth, which include Mhow (Madhya Pradesh) ; Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur (Maharashtra) ; Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Home in London; Mahaparinirvan Bhoomi in Alipur Road (Delhi) ; and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai (Maharashtra).
Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891 at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh and was the First Law Minister of Independent India. After resigning from the Union Cabinet on 1st November 1951, Dr. Ambedkar started residing in the house of Maharaja of Sirohi at 26, Alipur Road, Delhi where he breathed his last and attained Mahaparinirvana on 6th December 1956. In the memory of Dr. Ambedkar, Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvana Sthal, 26, Alipur Road was dedicated to the Nation by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India on 2nd December, 2003. The followers of Baba Saheb believe 26, Alipur Road as Holy place where he attained Mahaparinirvana. Since this building was to be constructed as a Memorial of Baba Saheb, who was the brain behind the Constitution of India, hence, the building has been given the shape of a book.
The memorial is spread over an area of 7374 sq meter and the area of 6758 sq mete and built at a cost of 100 crores. The memorial is completely green building. First building in the country with façade of open book which reflects the constitution of India. The memorial has an advanced museum, in which the life and works of B. R. Ambedkar are shown through modern technology. The building has an exhibition area, memorial, meditation hall with the Buddha Statue, 12 feet height bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar among others. Ashoka Pillar (11 m) at Entrance Plaza and Meditation Hall at Back side has been constructed. There exists Sewerage Treatment Plant (30 KLD), Rain Water Harvesting System and roof top solar energy (50 kw) with net metering. It also has a cafeteria for snacks etc.and parking space in basement.
Really good and interactive. Nice place to study and research about Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Also it also provides you with an app for further information on the displays that works on their Wifi. (No data Cost)
This place is permanently closed now. I have fond memories of this place from my childhood. It's a pity that I am unable to show this place to my kids. The security guard even told me that, there is a possibility that instead of the museum, they may built a new auditorium. It is sad
This place has been a must visit during childhood and was a great place to go. I came back to Delhi in early 2019 for a short visit and decided to go here. Apparently the place burnt down in 2016 with most exhibits lost. However, maps still show this place (Have requested an edit). But more importantly the website of the place shows it as completely operational with no news of the incident.
It was a place which took me back to chilhood. But its closed now 2 years ago it got burnt in a fire (as they say) and a big project by ficci is running there now.
I don't know it was an accidental fire or intensional but what is lost was very precious.
A national capital with no museum to visit is very sad.
It's burnt and shut down. One star coz I enjoyed walking from mandi house metro station to the location, while I sipped apple juice from himachal bhawan
Don't plan to visit here.it is closed forever. I have been there last month (3/10/18). I watched this sight was burned.jokingly A hawker outside it made fun of me.
