The National Philatelic Museum at Dak Bhawan, New Delhi India, is operated by the Department of Post. The facility, which is housed on the ground floor of a building, underwent a redevelopment in 2011. It now hosts an amphitheater for presentations and discussions, a library and an area where artists can be seen at work, as well as displays of postage stamps and related items. The Museum has displayed number of frames in which exhibits of Post Independence era stamps can impress any Visitor with its charm. The frames have been arranged beautifully in different sections like section for Sheetlets, section for different themes, Section for Stamps from different countries.

It is a must visit place if you like historical collections of postal tickets.
Very few people know about the National philatelic museum it was a Wonderful experience, quiet and clean.

If you are into Philately then this is a must visit place for you. You can go to the museum which is on the left side of the gate and check the different stamps that were released from time to time. Not much crowded. No ticket to visit. You can buy stamps as souvenir (only issue they don't accept card or UPI for payment, if you purchase anything from there)

National Philatelic Museum is located at Dak Bhawan, New Delhi. All the postal stamps issued by the Department of Posts are displayed here. Amazing collection of all the postal stamps could be seen here. One can trace the development of Philatelics at this museum. This place is a heaven for all the Philatelic lovers. Newer issuances of the postal stamps could be seen and bought at the Philatelic section of the Head Post Office Parliament Street.

An good educational spot for kids, specially those into collecting stamps. The place had been well arranged with history and artefacts to make the journey interesting. It easy to reach too. Just take the metro and get down at Patel chowk. It a minutes walk from the metro station

NATIONAL PHILATELIC MUSEUM

Situated near Connaught Place, is Dak Bhawan which has a post office with an outlet for philatelists interested in Indian stamps. The building also houses the National Philatelic Museum which has an extensive stamp collection including the first stamp issued in India by the Sindh Dak (1854) and stamps issued before Independence by the rulers of the Princely States. Free entry passes can be had from Parliament Street Head Post office basement.

Great place to visit, hardly a few people visit and has place to sit and study if you want to. Is quieter than a library. Has stamps from 1947 to current time all arranged neatly in shelves. Has some rare ones too. Please note that photography is not allowed. It is situated in the main head post office building in New Delhi. Must visit for stamp collectors.

Must visit for philately enthusiasts as well as kids. Extensive collection. Lighting can be improved inside as the exhibits were in the dark. Everyone will enjoy the look at India's culture and diversity through stamps. You can purchase the current year stamps.

The place is a bit dull presentation wise. Having said that, the collection is pretty rich and interesting.

Museum is maintained by Indian post. It's at Patel Chowk.the museum displays all the postal tickets used till date in India.
