Passport Seva Kendra, managed by TCS, suffers from chronic server issues, leading to frustratingly long wait times for applicants. Despite TCS's technological expertise, the persistent problems undermine the efficiency and reputation of the service. Urgent improvements are needed to ensure a smoother experience for passport seekers.

It’s a typical government office people talk about. You have to go through counters ABC after checking in. The hurdles race gets tougher as you progress. A section does everything required. BC sections are just to make you realise life’s not so easy. For one second job you need to wait for an hour at each counter. Wait means standing taking care of purses and pockets, not sitting in a comfortable AC room! On coming out you realise how fresh the air is, even if the AQI is above 300

The best thing I found while entering the place is they have the chair escalater for old people or for the physically challenged person.

Before proceeding towards the entrance and for the application check, you have to pass through with 3 security checks. Once you clear that, you will reach the token counter and after cross check all the documents they will provide you the token.

After receiving the token you have to wait for your turn to proceed for the documents check, pictures clicking and more, the steps are not lengthy all depends on the crowd. Less the crowd, sooner the procedure.

Ok, so lets find out the way to reach there. So, the bestest landmark is ITO Metro Station (Gate No. 4). You can visit this place by your own vehicles as the parking facilities are there. Two wheeler and four wheeler both parkings are available. The charges for two wheelers are around 20 Rs only.

Documents Required:

Aadhar, Pan & 10th Certificate/Birth Certificate (10th certificate will work if you don't have the birth certificate).

BE CAREFUL with your documents. Your name and your father's/Mother's name must be the same in all your documents which you are presenting to the officers as it caused to be an rejection of the application (if you have any mismatch then must revise your documents) and also you must have to carry your original documents with the photocopies.

Do not worry if you forget your photocopies as the shop is available besides the Passport Seva Kendra and also the photocopy services are available inside the Passport Seva Kendra. Photocopies rates are cheaper inside the Passport Seva Kendra compared with the outside shops.

Keep clean the area and place you visit.

The person sitting there for verification of documents on the C board is very dismanner even he yet at my mom.

I had overall good experience, although it was little bit crowded.
Just to give you a hint, if anyone going for fresh normal passport must have photocopy of following documents along with its original- Pan card, Aadhar card and 10th marksheet.

Direction - Near ITO metro station, go out from gate number 4, you will find Passport office in front of your exit.

Please avoid this centre. The employees are just too rude, but yeah that’s the norm in PSKs in general but this one was just bad. And if you’re still going, please carry everything from bank Passbook attested to birth certificate. And yeah minimum 3 IDs is a must and they don’t accept school Id. So carry Adhaar, pan and DL/voter id. Carry all original docs + xerox. And please read the guidelines on passport seva site about documents required. I was rejected from here then I scheduled at rk puram today and that was so good, it got accepted there

Location is good, metro is literally there two buildings away, plenty of street food there and yes photocopy/printing shops are there outside so don’t worry. It’s a crowded area yet very posh

ITO metro station on violet line is nearest metro station (exit from gate no. 4).
May have facing vehicle parking problem, so avoid personal vehicle.

They have made my life hell. Waited for 5 hours but did not give the passport and again they have called me to get it made
. Bloody fraud people. They should all go to jail.

It was very worst experience. We had to get our tatkal passports made. Initially the officer who verified our documents FORGETS to sign. Then we couldn't track him as it was lunch time.
Only DPO was genuine and ground to earth The majority staff was rude and misbehaving.
B counter officers are some pot bellied locals who won't mind making you wait while having their own personal issues resolved.

Just hoping to get our all passports on time.

Location is well connected and easy to reach, just right adjacent to gate 4 of ITO metro station. Plenty of local eating facilities available. My slot was 2.30pm, so I had reached around 2pm.
For token generation it took barely 15 minutes. On counter A, application was processed very quickly, 10 minute tops. But counter B&C were flooded with people waiting for their tokens. There were no empty seats, and the process was rather slow. It took me 2.5h of waiting for my token to display on counter B. Overall the entire process took me 3.5h to complete and my documentation was pretty simple. After the process, you’ll get an acknowledgment slip via email and you’re done.

The staff was helpful but aloof at the same time, which is no surprise given the massive influx of people they deal with everyday, so I’ll cut them some slack. Inside the building, there’s a xerox station, and a small cafeteria. There are printing facilities available outside the building.

Overall, a decent psk but slow and crowded.

One of the oldest passport centres in Delhi ITO region.

Cons: TCS staff are very unprofessional & treat themselves as IAS officers, For Tatkal renewal/reissue they won’t accept ePAN or PAN from DigiLocker (my application was not submitted just because of this), too little area for seating and mad rush, VIP culture for Govt sector employees - they break the queue and are treated on priority with personal support (Babu culture still persists), car parking is a mess.

I personally had a very bad experience in this office. I had to spend an entire day (11-5) to complete the process. The waiting area was also overcrowded as there was not enough place for people to sit. Most, but not all, staff had a bad attitude & they treated me differently because I'm not a resident of Delhi - even thought the Ministry issued an open notice that we can apply from any PO/PSK which we find convinient.
Overall, it was a terrible experience for a first time applicant like me.

Today I visited this place for my passport related work.

The ITO metro station is just next to this passport office. If you want to come by car then you can come but there can be a problem with parking here. The main reason for this is the people working in the office and near this passport office here who park their cars here.

I would like to tell you that the process of getting a passport has been simplified as compared to earlier. It took me 50 to 60 minutes to get my passport work done.

If you take an appointment related to your passport work here, then I suggest you to come by metro or cab.if you brought someone with you then one who has come with you will have to stand outside and wait for you.

Recommended this passport office. Especially this passport office is just next to the ITO metro station.

Pathetic experience! Only applicants are allowed to go inside, that's fine.
But there are no arrangements for the person who accompanies the applicant. They have to stand outside in hot, cold & rainy season!

Typical Sarkari scenario, big commitment and poor delivery.
1.too much waiting time compared to what slot was assigned.
2.delay might point to inefficiency in the system, of course staff can’t be blamed as they get their training they just work.
3.lot of improvement is needed.

Extremely poor and horrible experience.
The so called mechanism goes like this. First you have to go to token centre and your harassment starts. I will tell you there modus operandi which goes like this:
1- first you have to enter after showing your appointment to security guards and then he/she will allow you to enter. Then you need to be in queue for token. A token representative will check your documents and then gives you a token and then ask you to go inside at counter A. You need to see your token number on display board and go to the respective counter. The person at counter will capture your picture and scan your documents. THIS SERVICE HAS BEEN OUTSOURCED TO TCS EMPLOYEES AND THEY DO THERE WORK WELL AND FAST. However the game starts once you go to counter B.
In counter B typical government clerks who think themselves above law are absorbed with a sick mindset. They will try every silly tactics to deny your passport and ask you to come some other day.
Now the problem is in our case they deny government identities and registry. They are EVEN DENYING DOCUMENTS UPLOADED ON DIGILOCKER WHO HAS BEEN MOST AMBITIOUS PROJECT OF OUR BELOVED PRIME MINISTER.
They use hocks and crooks and are hand in glove with C DESK OFFICIALS WHERE YOU NEED TO GENERALLY GO AFTER B DESK.
Crowd handling is utterly poor and there can anytime be a pandemic due to inefficiencies of typical babus.
The only respite we got is DEPUTY PASSPORT OFFICER who is the ultimate authority there for grievance.
After 5 hours and multiple attempts our passport application was issued.
We were harassed and were accompanied by our 2 year old son who was consistently crying due to absurd attitude and insufficient knowledge of people. They are ruining dream project of HONORABLE PM.

I am 85 years old retired Brig from Indian Army. I applied for reissue of passport and went there on 22nd Jul as per appointment. The staff was very helpful and processed my application expeditiously. I received my passport today, a very pleasant surprise. My compliments.

It is a very organised Centre for Passport Issue. You have to first take all original document and get a Token. After that enter waiting area 1 where the counter number of A series, where you have to take your documents will be displayed. A counter after taking your documents and picture, will direct you to first floor for quick verification, again check your counter number on display TV and report there. The person will relieve you in 15 seconds and send you for final verification to counters B and C. Check your counter number and report there. Usually there is a 5 to 10 minute wait here. Once done you exit. The place is well sign posted. If all your documents are in order then it is only procedure. Good courteous staff. Maximum time it takes is to get a token. It's crowded with less counters and more people.

This PSK is known as Herald House at ITO. Nearby metro station is ITO on Violet line of Delhi Metro. Nearest metro gate is Gate no 4. Overall nice experience at this PSK as I have visited for Passport renewal under Tatkal scheme, it took 90 mins to complete all the processes. Must carry cash for the fees here. Totally chaotic.standing since 11 am, and still 2 more counters pending, counters closed for 45 mins lunch break, elderly pupils women with children all.force to be stranded and then begins tortoise speed work. 4hrs still waiting.bad

IMPORTANT NOTE: Regarding Address Proof and Passport Photo (Specially for Kids new passport and if you are staying on rent here and your home town is some other city)

1. DO NOT TRUST THE PHOTO QUALITY OF SHOPS WHICH ARE OUTSIDE PSK. They claim to give you super quality photographs but it doesnt work properly in scan inside PSK. I had to reschedule my visit because their super quality photographs did not work in scanning. Please make sure you are taking lab printed passport photographs only. Please take care of below things in photograph for your kids:
-> Ears should be properly visible.
-> Eyes are not covered by hair.
-> Avoid doing pony or using any clips on hair.
-> 80-85% area in photograph should be covered by face.
-> Skin tone natural, eyes open properly, no smile and neutral expression only, white background only, coloured photographs. Only 1 photo is required that too they will return you at the end.

2. For address proof, If you are staying on rent, you can use your gas connection copy as the address proof. Please reach out to your gas supplied and take original gas connection details printed, have it stamped by them and signed by them and you both. It is easily and quickly available and free of cost from any gas suppliers. Also carry latest gas bill with you.

3. For Date of Birth, carry birth certificate. You can get it from MC office. Apply it there offline and later you can download the coloured print from online. It is usually being done in 30 days. I got our kid's birth certificate in 1 week though.

Please let me know if anybody has any questions, im happy to help. I had to do a lot of hassle to get through all this and to collect this info. Hope you won't face it after reading this.

It's very nice experience.extremely overwhelmed by the service provided by the staff of passport office. It's a 4 Stage process divided as A, B, C & Exit.

I Visited the R. K Passport office on 29/06/2021 because the ITO passport office had sent me here stating there is some issue in your mark sheet.
I met Mr. H.h (Privacy and Policy Department), told him my issue even I showed him online that everything is available on Internet so there is no issue in my Document. But still, he sent a letter to my board to verify my document, and sain minimum it takes 2 months.
It's been 4 months, no communication received so far. He gave me the office number no one receives.
I was telling Mr. H.h my grievance he was thinking I am over-smart.
He behaved as he was favoring me.
My appointment number is- DL1065258261221

If anyone from the passport department reading this please help me and make your officers efficient.

Shame on them. Deceiving people in the name passport cover to charge additional 500 rupees. The guy did not tell me deliberately that the passport cover is not mandatory just asked me whether I need rexine cover or leather and started telling me the benefits of leather cover and convinced me to get leather one. When I reached the second (final) stage of verification process, they told me that it is not necessary. I went back to him and he said since the bill is generated it can not be cancelled. Shame on you PSK and your employees.

Good and helping staff but only negative point is that there is no waiting area, you have to stand on the road.

Need to improve their process, till date passport is not possible without bribing police officials.

Has weird and worse experiences in other passport offices.but this one simply has blown me away.wat a professional work arena.u won't be troubled here at all if u r smart enough to carry all d required paperwork. PSK Ito take a bow guys!

The place is really good but they don't allow anyone else to go inside without appointment.only the appointment person can go inside, you need to stay out if you don't have appointment.
The parking facility is there but you need to pay.

The staff on ground floor is amazing. They are very very helpful and sincere with their work. But if you don't have the required documents with you, please don't argue with them. Instructions are clearly mentioned on the website and their helpline numbers are also quite active in responding to user queries.

First floor however is all sarkari babus. Their happiness relies on making your life difficult. So, they will try their best to find any flaw in your application and refer it to RPO if they can. If they can't find a flaw in your application, you may see the look of disappointment on their face. But if they do find a flaw (or invent a flaw in your application due to lack of their own knowledge), there is a slight chance they might refer your application to RPO.

And if your file goes to RPO, expect months of running around circles to get your passport or paying heavy bribe, or both.

So, try to make sure all your documents are perfect and pray that the sarkari babus on first floor don't put your application on hold

Took online appointment,

Reporting time was 9: 45am.

-Ito metro Gate no. 4 was closed, take gate no. 5,8mins walk to the passport seva kendr
-show the appointment SMS to security gaurd

-on counter, show orignial documents 10th marksheet, aadhar card, pan card, asked for voter id (I didn't had it), gazzete copy (in case change of name happend), give the photocopies.

-they'll staple the photocopies and give you counter number

-your biometric will be taken and docs will be checked again

-you'll be forwarded to other counter on 1st floor

-then wait for your token number on screen, 2 checks on different counter will happen (takes around 10-15 minutes)

Done and you are free to go.

Whole process was done within 30mins.

Edit: Keep ₹550 cash handy, they'll ask for it when you choose the passport cover. You'll recieve the reciept.

Extremely Dissapointed! I went there to get my 6 years old son's passport reissued. I had every single document mentioned on their website but they denied reissuance because we did not have my wife's original passport withs us. I explained to them that it was in transit with Canada embassy and showed proof but their behavious was so corrupt. In fact, my son's passport was issued when I was in the US and my wife got it issued without trouble with only copy of my passport. We have not changed address for over 15 years. Now, they are showing so much tantrums with reissuance. They just wanted me to pay them under the table. Insane! I have already sent an email escalation to MEA. I though TCS doing a better job but did not know there are plenty of corrupt people still sitting there to harrass common public. I request everyone to share their experience if they have ever faced corruption at PSK Herald House.

Terribly slow process. It’s shocking how inefficient and exhausting it is to get a passport in India. This place can get you through in minutes and sometimes even 2 hours is not enough. I wish I could post a better review but absolutely terrible process.

The ITO Passport Office is very good and changes the look of a government office. Everything is digitalized and the process is simple and hassle free.
Go to the passport office at the given time and it will take only 15 mins to half hour in the whole process.
It also has a special senior citizens line where senior citizens can get their work done quickly

The process is as

1. Entry

2. Passport Document Verification such as (Voter Id card, aadhar card, pan card, driving licence, 10 th pass certificate)
PS - Aadhaar, voter id and 10th certificate is compulsary to show

3. Token Grant - after verification A token will be given to you and you will be sent to counters for further verification and grant of passport.

First, you will be sent to counter A for Documents Verification and photo clicking and Finger print taken. (You can pay ₹50 for SMS service here)

After this

Second, you will be sent to counter B for document verification and then Last

Third, You will be sent to counter 3 for granted of passport and this is the last step You can go home after this step.

The passport office has photocopy shop in the office and another two shops outside the passport office.
Parking is available but it is not legal so if some one asks for parking fees don't give.
Passport office is a minute walk from gate number 4 but gate number 4 of metro is closed due to COVID. You can come from gate number 3 instead.

I visited ITO Delhi PASSPORT SEVA for renewal. Staff are very friendly and they are working in systematic way to complete the case and all procedures completed within 20 mintes. Waiting time less than 5 mintes.

Whole process takes 2hrs. First I take token and show them my appointment msg and copy of documents. After that I received a token no.and that proceed thereafter.

Unprofessional and unskilled staff. They just don’t verify things once and try to call you up again and again for a new change in the document, it actually becomes very difficult for the person who is working and has specially taken a leave just to get this whole process done. Very impressed with the service. Staff are courteous and helpful. Tv monitors keep you fully informed about your status in the queue.
My passport renewal process took just one hour which consisted of 5 minutes processing at 3 windows. They said that I should get my new passport within 2 weeks.

It was a very bad experience I have a fracture and this shows open I even called passport Seva Kendra helpline no. They told me it was open. When I reached there to my utter inconcievable disappointment it was closed. Very sad.

Direction - ITO metro gate number 4 is just next to this kendra.
Staff if good but usually too many people come here.this is the most beasy passport kendar.
There are 3 steps u have to go through there.
A- Ground floor (take less time)
B- 1st floor takes 15-20 mints
C- 1st floor take 2 mints only

This was a great initiative by the Indian Government as a part of Digital India campaign! Kudos to TCS and the Indian Government for doing this! The staff is well trained, the place is clean and you don't have to worry about anything!

This Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) is adjacent to ITO Metro Station. I will highly recommend you to reach here via Metro, as it is more convenient, reliable, adjacent to PSK but why I recommend you to travel through Metro is so that you don't have to worry about finding the parking space for your vehicle as most of the Parking Spots are always occupied by the staff and some visitors. As soon as you get down at ITO Metro Station, you are supposed to exit from Gate Number 4. If possible, reach here an hour before your appointment. The entry to PSK is Wheelchair accessible as well, all you have to do is ask for the help by the Guards near the gate. It won't take you more then 15 to 20 minutes to get all the work done, but, don't forget to take all the original documents as mentioned. There's plathora of food and juice stall outside as well and there's a cyber cafe as well just outside the PSK.

Token assigned at 12: 10 for a appointment time of 11: 45, block A & and B took 5 minutes but C took rest of time cause of lesser staff as only 4 counters were active, Whole procedure ended at 13: 07 with status at Granted on basis of pre police verification.

Documents required were 10th marksheet for Non-ECR and Aadhar for both identify and address proof but please take a print of your appointment letter as they will deny your entry even if you show them the appointment on SMS or in electronic device cause they generate token with the help of printed appointment letter receipt and be patient the whole procedure will end in 1 hour or so plus you'll love the TCS guys who are so cool and fast and you'll end up hating the govt guys who takes forever in doing their task, thank God that they don't ask for bribe.

Seen many reviews about passport office. Staff at passport office is well trained and very supportive. Few people have bad experience but we have to understand that the procedure of making passport is very important for our country. Many people give wrong information. Checking all documents is their duty. For me the experience is good.

Good experiece Experienced staff but remeber the Passport cover is not compulsory and can be bought outside at a cheaper price. It is a total rip-off.

Pathetic illiterate staff. According to the passport website there is no need to carry a print-out anymore of appointment receipt. Still illiterate staff over there have started a commission based business by making print outs mandatory going against the website's notification.
So when you reach there they will be behind your life to get the appointment letter print out from outside and this is how they earn commissions.
That’s why india is not grwoing. Every one is corrupt, rules and regulations doesn't matter and no body cares.

Ps- print out cost 5 per page and minimum 3pages. Lol

Download mPassport Seva. Take all necessary documents like 2 passport size photo 4.5cm × 3.5cm, UID copy, PAN card, copy of appointment receipt and download filled application form. Everything is systematic. Welcome your future.

2. Your number will be displayed on the screen. When called, your details will be checked, photo and thumb impression will be taken. If your name has initials, for eg, R. S. Pranay, you will have to provide the full name. (Tip: You may put R S as your surname, instead of full name.) Incase, you want to purchase a passport cover, you may pay for it here.

3. Again docs verified & submitted.

4. Acknowledgment receipt is received.

One copy of all the relevant documents is reqd.
Incase of a minor, one adult may accompany him/her.
There are limited seats in the waiting area, but, lots of space to stand. No fan or A/C here.
It is nearest to the ITO Metro station.
Roadside parking is available.
Outside the office there is a juice corner, Mc. Donalds & a decent vegetarian restaurant for meals.

Corruption free experience at PSK. However, 500 rupees bribe taken by the the person who came for police verification on behalf of SHO Office!

Passport seva kendra is authorized office of Ministry of external affairs, Govt of India for processing of Passport applications of indian citizens, which is outsourced to Tata consultancy services. The office at ITO Harald house bahadur shah jafar marg is having huge space. It has cafe coffee day inside. PSK has sufficient staff to handle huge crowd. See that u r carrying all necessary documents and photo of kids in white background. Parking problems outside

Systematic work but the TCS employees who handles the work here will not give you full information about the passport covers and force you to buy one from them.
