Salaam Baalak Trust

A great association that takes in street children in India, with great values. We had the pleasure of meeting Junaï, a former street child in Delhi, he showed us around the railway station area and explained to us how the association worked. If you go to Delhi, go meet these people who work every day to help these orphaned children. The money from the visits is used to finance the needs of the association.

We were lucky enough to go on the Dehli old city walking tour organised by the Trust whilst in Dehli. Rohit our guide, from Street Connections, was engaging, extremely knowledgeable and a very caring and respectful person. He took us to places we would not have visited or found ourselves and is passionate about his city. The tour ended at the street children's home. We were welcomed in and a couple of children willingly gave us insight into their experience. The money from the tour goes to supporting these children. Fabulous.

Really recommend anyone visiting the area to go on the walk tour. Well organised, our guides met us in the exact spot described and right on time. We had junaid and furkan as our guides and their English was impeccable, we were so impressed. The walk was really interesting, seeing some of the different contact points of the trust and also heading about junaid and furkan's personal stories. And met some of the children they are supporting. Amazing and inspiring. Salaam Balaak Trust really are doing great work.

We did the street walk with Ajay and Kajal (the trainee). Ajay's English was great, and he had so much energy and passion for what the trust is doing for the kids of Delhi and how it helped him. The walk is safe and professional, and thoroughly recommended to get an insight into a part of Delhi that tourists would not otherwise see.

SBT runs seven 24-hour full care residential homes for children and teenagers all over India, of which two are devoted to girls (Arushi and Udaan - Rose Home). 10 contact points-day care centers, mostly near railway stations and three 24-hour toll-free helpline service (1098), cater to children in distress and problems all over India. Therefore, looking after nearly 10,000 children every year. Salaam Baalak Trust children, who have been trained in theatre, dance and puppetry, are giving performances all over the world.

The trust is doing good work for street children. The reason I am giving 2 stars less is because of their lack in coordination & commitment skills.
The staff at head office do not reply timely, you keep running after them by calling or through watsapp or over email, they are the only busiest persons on the earth. I am writing this comment after bearing for so long.
On complaining, one member (i am not mentioning her name here) replied that at SBT we work like this only. I got surprised at her confidence & on her answer as well. But this is really pathetic & unprofessional behaviour. This is destroying your image & ultimately of the Trust. You guys need to change this.

You can go here from new delhi metro station as well from RK AASHRAM metro station. After that you take e -rickshaw from station it's hardly 10 min far from station then go to the famous gali that is chandi wali. After that you may ask from any shopkeeper they may guide you. It's quite narrow passage to reach exact place.
