The Desire Hostel

Great place for a short stay. Close to metro stn and overall a very pleasant and nice locality. There are plenty of good coffee shops nearby as well. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and everything was like a typical backpacking hostel. Hot water was available 24*7. The people are also very nice and place also looked safe for solo female travellers. You can get locker facility by paying for a refundable deposit.

A white lady stays there all the time and she use sarcastic language and people disturb a lot

The rooms are very cleaned and maintained. And their service is to good and kind. And that place is very secure. I love it

This was an best hotel i have visited in my life, all the staffs are very calm and down to earth, their services are very satisfied to me, a must visit hotel.

I had a great experience with"The Desire Hostel, the staff was incredibly helpful, amenities were great and also the dorm was wonderful, clean and perfect for stay.

If you are coming this place mostly on weekends so I'll recommend this place guys, this place has positive vibes then other places I visited many places I'm Delhi but this place has given me different vibes.
If you need to get the groceries you can easily go by walk the market it's just near the hostel about less them 500 mtrs.
Around the hostel full of greenery trees and The Metro Station is near its called Malviya Nagar from hostel it 2 Km it is.
Management has good manners to communicate with the guests and they also help you to book the bus or train tickets if you having any errors with your account and all.
They also have shared kitchen you can cook your own food there free of cost.
I had an amazing experience with Desire Hostel thank you guys.

This hoestal is not good for backpackers but yeah if some one is looking for long stay would recommend this.

Desire Hostel is very nice and secure to stay in Delhi. It provided comfort and leisure in such a way that I changed my opinion on Delhi and stayed for several months. They gave me good discount and took care of me very well.the staff for keeping the good work going. Location and social life are the biggest assets for this hostel, and the management is coordinating well with these two criteria with great pricing. I would suggest everyone to stay in this hostel atleast for a week to completely absorb the vibes it has.
Location is very good because there is nearby market where everything is available according to your needs and A good reason to stay is, they maintain the standards of a backpacker hostel.
The management team is very helpful they can help you whatever you need to know about Delhi and all.

I was so lucky to find Desire Hostel! It was the first place I went in India and as a solo female traveller, Sunny & Aniket (both work at the hostel) made me feel so welcome and safe. I can't recommend this place more highly for backpackers and travelers. So accommodating, friendly and patient. Thank you so much for such a wonderful introduction to India!

Lack of professionalism

Really cool place in the heart of Hauz khas. Really good location. Really good hostel with nice sweet staff. Common areas are a little dirty but the staff cleans it every morning

Covid is increasing, if there are so many people in one room, then the chances of getting Covid are more.

Very good place to socialize with travellers from all over the world. Service can be a bit better but the staff is very polite and helpful. Safe place for girl travellers.

The property owner is guinune and co operative helpful guy have good services with kitchen need some improvements you can go for it if you are a budget traveller

People are fraud here, i have booked one bed and then after confirming everything on mail, i have been told that the bed has been given to someone else, these people are asking for payment before i could even visit. Now they have cancelled my booking stating that someone has made the payment for the bed hence we have given the bed to that person. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH ALL ONLINE HOTEL PORTALS. GUYS BE AWARE, IF YOU GOING TO THIS PLACE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE SOME OTHER BOOKING ALSO OTHER WISE THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST GOING TO UPSET YOU BY SAYING THAT YOUR BED HAS BEEN ALLOTED TO SOMEONE ELSE.

For the price you're paying, this place is really good. I met some nice people here. The AC makes the room temperature just perfect to sleep there.
Worth a try if want a value for money place to stay.

I had a really nice experience with Desire hostel, Delhi. All the staff members are really kind and helpful especially Nihal, he is really friendly and helpful and treats everyone nicely. And also the place is safe for girls. Overall a great experience. Will definitely recommend.

Location is good, but the service offered is not, the person responsible for managing has no sense on how to talk to people, online they mention that the dorms are Air conditioned yet everytime you want to switch on AC you'll have to go down to reception and request them as they say we only turn on during sleep hours.
There should be transparency b/w service you offer and what you mention on online sites.
Replace the immature people hired at reception (just passed out of school) with etiquette on how to talk to people and respecting their private space.
Additionally if you book this be ready to share you rooms and washroom within you allotted dorm with the staff as they keep coming in your room checking for God knows what and probably they don't have a separate washroom for staff.

I had booked a private room owing to prevailing covid situation. Upon arrival I was told that the room was unavailable as another guest had extended his stay. They offered me a room but in a different location (around 5 kms from there). This messed up my itinerary, so I chose to remain there but in a dorm of 6 beds. The dorm washroom wasn't clean and was ill equipped. The mgmt is not very professional and possesses a relaxed attitude towards everything. I have stayed in hostels before and I understand the compromises that entail, but this was a poor experience. One of the dorm residents had severe cough and kept talking to his colleagues over phone about his symptoms & that did scare me as I certainly didn't plan to contract Covid (atleast ask for rt pcr and health undertaking from guests). Changed my abode the very next day to a better place.
I think I prefer only Zostel and The hosteller now

Edit: I'm Covid positive after landing home, thanks Desire Hostel and it's covid positive guest. Seriously, screw you.

The common are here is really good to sit and work or chill out.

Nice place but the a/c is only on in night 9 to9 and washroom can be cleaned in much better way

Location is top notch. People and ambience are very good. And if you need a friend in Manager Nihal bhai is there for you.

The best part of this hostel is the location, very elegant neighbourhood with world class market at disposal. I were a staff and it's been a pleasure working here. The management treats us with sheer dignity and respect, making the work place a homely vibe. The reception staff is polite and tackles grievances very maturely. While working here several guests have become my friends, especially the female dorm squad. The hostel is highly safe and comfortable for women of all ages.
I have learnt valuable lessons working in the hostel, and I wish luck to anyone looking for careers with the hostel. And for the guests, the whole communal vibe is impeccable. Should visit here if you are looking for a low-key but pleasant experience.

Desire hostel is a place you would desire to live in. The thought of living in a same place as 8 people and using the one washroom can sound very unhygienic but this place took hygiene to another level. They take care of all your needs. One can feel safe while living there.

One word, DINGY.
Only god knows how this hostel affords a 4.3 rating which should ideally be around 3.
That bearded receptionist is rude and unwelcoming. He must mend his way and be at least diplomatic in his dealings.
Second, cleanliness is unheard of. Being a clean freak hurts when you have to leave within hours of checking in.
Third, the place is dingy and not well lit. At one point suffocation is felt.
Only plus is the location.
Overall not recommended in the above INR 500 segment. As an Indian I urge the owner to pursue the suggested reforms as this is the very first impression a jet lagged foreign traveler experiences and perceives India after a long tiring journey.

Stay was ok. However, the owner charged 200 INR caution money for lending a lock, saying he will give it back. It's been a month since my visit and I haven't gotten a single penny back. I have tried contacting, my family tried contacting. No response.

It's so unsafe for females with so many and my self including the owner tried to touch inappropriate way after getting drunk and they encourage those kind of people who take advantage of girls please don't send your female friends or partner in this hostel it's unsafe and they don't take any legal action against it

We didn't check anything online and went there by a recommendation. Got a recent double room with ac and private bathroom. Nice people on the reception. Great location)

Good place in Malviya Nagar, walk-in distance from the metro.
The place needs a little cleanliness and refurbishing.

I have been travelling to many places and have been staying at many hostels but this one gave me a very bad experience. To point out a few, lack of cleanliness, things are a little bit different than the photos shown. Management could be more enthusiastic
Altogether, won't visit that place again.

The services is very bad. They took money but ask me to find another hotel. They just gave my bed to someone.
