Wow! Wow! Wow! The Japan foundation, truly representing japanese culture and preaching japanese in India Before this it was in lajpat nagar there was a small space a theater hall and a library Here in green park it has a vivid library office is great When I went to lajpat nagar i received a free hamper including 1 diary and 1 pen and 1 notepad, the japan foundation written on it The japan foundation offers japanese language course for Indians and Students who learn japanese in india knows it well. The japan foundations arranges lot of extracurricular activities to enhance japanese language learning and progression.
This place has the best manga collection in whole of India, and also a perfect place to read them. You can spend hours here, and still it ain't gonna be enough. Time moves extremely fast here. Literally, A heaven for manga readers.
The atmosphere was so ambient! It was so great to be there and just read peacefully. I had come without my identity card, so they didn't let me enter at first. I had my scanned I card on my phone and after seeing that, they let me go inside. The library is well stocked with all the Mangas, encyclopedias and whatnot. I think you can see anime shows on the computer as well if you're a member. Would definitely recommend going there!
Best and the cheapest library in delhi. The atmosphere is so peaceful. Undoubtedly you if u live nearby just take the membership for just 300 INR for a year
Loved it! The staff is friendly. You'll get a lot of mangas, both in English and Japanese. Plenty of books about the history of Japan and India. Their international relations. Encyclopedias. It's 300 rupees per year - the membership. Pretty awesome deal, I'd say.
Visited an exhibit re: urbanisation of Delhi and it was quite well done & informative. 18 panels wth description and before and after shot comparing 1950s/60s to now. Takes 15-20mins to see it all.
Also visited the library upstairs. Nice collection of magazines, newspapers, books. A quiet and peaceful place to read or study
Japan foundation to bhutt achaa h but what ki library wali mam thodi rude h attitude bhutt h otherwise wha k guidance system is v v good V nycc place for self study.
The place is awesome for students or any researcher.except the librarian.who finds it quite difficult to be polite with visitors and cant sit on her place even for 3 straight hours.i mean it's your job to sit there and issue/return books for visitors right? ️ (MIND.there are two librarians you'll notice within a minute of which one i am talking about). If librarian doesn't bothers you much EVERYTHING else IS AWESOME AND QUITE AMAZING
The library can be accessed in two phases, one from 11: 00 a.m. To 3: 00 p.m, and then from 3: 00 p.m. To 7: 00 p.m. The membership costs 300/- for one year, and is almost done instantaneously. The library is well stocked with Japanese literature, manga and costumes, along with access to computers. The librarians, however, could use a friendlier disposition instead of their disinterested, unapproachable demeanor.
I was greeted warmly by the staff who gave me all the information that I was there for. There was an exhibition ongoing in their gallery about the work done by Japanese archeologists in India.
Great place for japanese cultural events. Japan foundation also has a library with books about japan/ Japanese culture and language, translated into many languages
I am an otaku and hands down this is the best place to uncover the Japanese culture and learn Japanese. I went there with few of my friends, we visited the gallery which was very beautiful most of the paintings depicted the Japanese culture. The library was amazing, there were a lot of books and mangas and there were cloths for cosplay. Every few weeks they have a screening of anime movie (which is obviously every otakus dream to watch an anime movie on big screen). The staff is really polite and is always ready to help, location of jf is really accessible as it just a few metres away from the metro station
It was really good if you want to read Manga. My friend and I took about 2-3 hours reading manga without any disturbance. It has One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball, Monster, Full metal Alchemist, Bakuman and many more mangas over there!
Visiting Japan Foundation was an awesome experience. The Japanese people are very humble, modest and helpful. The place is designed in a very beautiful manner. It brings you one step closer to the Japanese culture.
It's a plethora of knowledge regarding the Japanese culture, the movie screenings events organised are a must attend. The library staff however can loosen up and be a bit more polite.
Went to see an excellent exhibition on Indigo dying and dyed cloth by Pamini Tolot Balaram. The Japan Foundation has a small but compact basement exhibition facilty.
Saw the Origami exhibition. Wonderful experience. Lots of school children were present and the volunteers we're very patiently explaining the craft. Amazing displays. Must see for all
