It's a beach front property so atmosphere is good.food is really bad and very expensive because beside there is palolem beach resort which is pretty reasonable and food quality is good.the prawn rava fry costed me 750 bucks and the same in the 3 star resort was 490 bucks.the quality of prawns was also not that great.guys, literally it's a over hyped restaurant.the ros omelette stall guy around the corner serves better food. I would have given no star if option was available.
Excellent place to be in South Goa with International Dishes Excellent for Itakian dishes, cocktails, favourite dishes, Spaghetti, Lasagne, Falafel, fish & chips, Mojito etc, Tuna sandwitch, fruit salad.
Best restraunt we've found in Palolem. We ate here a good few times and everything we ate was amazing. Staff are very friendly and engaging and the location on the beach front is fantastic. Watching the fishermen come in whilst enjoying some amazing Goan food is a real treat! Some people have complained about the price of the fresh seafood and while it is more expensive than you may be accustom to in India it is super fresh and fantastically cooked, so in my opinion totally worth the cost. Also many other options are available and delicious if you wanted a cheaper meal here. Cant reccomend enough!
I read a lot of positive reviews. Then I sorted it from lowest to highest and saw a lot of negative reviews. I got skeptical, but a lot of websites recommended this place and I came.
Was it worth it? YES! The food was amaaaaaazing. If you are a non vegetarian and if you like Indo-Chinese, do try their mixed fried rice. Their Goan specials in seafood are also good.
They have candle lit tables as well as tables facing the sea. If you are near Palolem, this place is definitely worth a visit during and post sunset.
Worst place to eat. They served spoiled prawns. King fish was smelling very badly. Please don’t go to this place if you want to eat fresh fish. It happens to be sea shack but they do not serve fresh sea food.
I wouldn't recommend this place, we got the fish food tikka masala and c cheese naan. Both were not up to the hype this place has in the reviews. Drinks are comparatively charged higher than other places on the beach.
Bad service support staff, bad Ambience and dont even think of taking your baby to this restaurant! From my personal experience.if you want to spoil your holiday only them you can visit here
A must place to have dinner. Enjoy a memorable moment with a mesmerizing feeling of sitting on Beach sand in south goa. If one should like to taste seafood try cheese garlic prawns and my personnel favorite cheese chilly garlic naan.
The ambiance is nice and you would feel as if it is a fine dining restaurant. However, the food is extremely average. On the higher end yet the flavours of food is below average. We ordered gobhi manchurian, crispy vegetables, prawn cafreal, fish finger, mushroom masala, paneer tikka masala, dal makhani, tandoori roti and peshwari naan. Instead of giving mushroom masala, I received mushroom kadhai. The gobhi manchurian was not at all crispy. The crispy vegetables was tasteless. To top it off, the waiter who served us the food was invariably rude. On asking him toh change the peshwari naan, he came back and insulted us by questioning about the ingredients used in it. Customer service was pathetic and having been a high end restaurant, this was least expected. Extremely pathetic experience and not recommended for people who would want to taste authentic food.
Quick service, great ambience & seating. Dropped by this place after reading a lot of good reviews and recommendations. They serve an extensive range of seafood and in case you are confused about what to choose, the waiters are generous enough to recommend something best for you. If anyone wants to enjoy the sea view, then visiting the place during daytime is recommended.
The only thing I disliked was the beach in front of Dropadi which has been littered by tourists extensively starting from beer bottles to water bottles.
Ok restaurant, over hyped and over priced. I tried a range of restaurants at Palolem, taste wise this was just average grade and costed significantly more than the others. No complaints though, they are just doing ok.
The place is lovely with a wonderful view of the Palolem beach and wonderful food to boot, it is located right next to the entrance of the palolem beach. The service is fast and prompt and the restaurant is generally well crowded
Had mixed noodles and chilli paneer. Chilly paneer was slightly different than usual (very sour) but tasted really good. Noodles was also yummy. Quantity was enough to fill up 2 people completely. Ambience is not anything outstanding, all restaurants are similar.
Best butter garlic crab and watermelon martini I had! The chilly chicken sizzler was average. The service and the ambience of the restaurant is great though!
Very good food - quantity and quality wise. Price of drinks are also lesser. Beer to be specific. Ofcourse it's right infront of the beach with beautiful view.
Excellent food. Chicken balti was delicious. Sea food also very good including fish and prawns. Service was also very fast. All round experience was fantastic. Most organized restaurant.
Food is tasty but whole fish like kingfish, red snapper are overpriced and is too much for 2 persons. Milkshakes served are more sweeter than normal. Portion wise food is good.
Palolem is the most happening place in The south of South Goa. And this restaurant is one of the anchor places with amazing food. One can make out that while other next door restaurants were empty, Dropadi had a houseful.
Needless to say more.
Do try the Tandoori style Fish and the awesome 5 lentil mix Daal with Naan/roti.
Located just front of Paloem beach. One can have food while taking view of sea. Food was good. I found price of few items are on higher side. They charged Rs 75 for plain rice and rice quality was just one small bowl. We were charged 750 for just plain rice as quantity of one bowl is not all enough for one person. They don;t have lobster and Fish thali which was disappointing for me.
Amazing food at Palolem beach.the place is by the beach.always crowded and you might have to wait for your turn. The staff/service is quick and good as well.been here couple of times and never disappointed.
Tldr: good food at a great location ruined by careless and ignorant staff
Must try: Rava fry and naan+butter chicken Can improve: staff should be trained
Fish seemed fresh and the food was good even. The staff (almost all of them) seemed like they were forced to by employed there against their will. They literally were annoyed by you occupying the seats as though your taking away their free time from doing nothing.
Unless their staff treats their customers better, they'll not go far in terms of repeat customers. They'll mostly need to survive on new tourist customers (seems to be working for them)
Great place to be. We had a platter of soke kind of tikka kebab which was great and some chicken Manchow soup. Both were great and filling. Quantity for kebab could be better. Ambience is great, well lit place. Candles on every table. Not so romantic place I would say, since the crowd is always of mixed people like friends and family. Beach view is soothing. Food is a little expensive than expected. But it's fine since all the neighboring beach shack restaurants have similar prices. People who mostly stay in those shacks are expected in those restaurants.
It's one of the best restaurants in the Palolem beach area for good sea food.facing the beach one has a great view while having tasty sea food. They have selection of freshly caught fish, lobsters and crabs which you can choose from and have it cooked the way you like to.
The staff was rude.no proper service provided.it was late 10.30 and they were just rushing on us.even the food was prepared in hurry it seems the taste wasnt good at all
Great view and wonderful gastronomical experience. I was worried being a veggie I might not get good options, well this place proved me wrong. Dropadi restaurant is a must try even for vegetarians, what an amazing food spread and to be pampered by them with finger licking good food and with such a beautiful beach view. Can't ask for more. Coconut milk shake was really amazing, never expected it would be so good. Basil fritters, Veg sizzler, banofie pie - all of them were good and delicious, wished to have more but we were full! And all through this we were never hurried but enjoyed the whole lunch with the beautiful palolem beach view. Well would love to return again!
Dropadi is closed right now but we can’t wait for it to open again once the season gets underway. Dropadi is always full, you might be wise to book a table at the weekend. It has prime position right next to the main beach entrance and attracts locals, domestic Indian tourists and foreigners alike. The food isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for with great portion sizes and amazing food, the likes of which you will not find anywhere else. Vijay has been running Dropadi for years and offers one of the outstanding experiences on this amazing beach. Whether you are popping in for a quick strawberry daiquiri or lingering longer for a full 3 (or even 4!) course meal of the day’s freshest fish, unbelievable tandoori or sumptuous deserts, be sure to book and settle in for one of South Goa’s finest dining experiences.
Having read mixed reviews about this restaurant, I was skeptical about this place but it turned out to be good. The mocktails were disappointing but the crab masala with cheese naan was simply awesome. Highly recommend Dropati restaurant especially their sea food.
Highly over rated. Food is average but the service slow and over all atmosphere dull and oppressive. It gets its crowd due to prime location. Please folks walk a bit up and down and you will get greater value for money
Best restaurant and exceptional service at Palolem beach. I'm writing this review one month after my goa trip then imagine how great this place is to create memories. Where ever you stay at Palolem, have your food here only. Only here. I'm sure you'll not regret it.
A beautiful scenic view while you dine. The food tastes so good. Loved the lasagna here and the seafood biriyani. The palolem beach is too calm and not crowded like baga or Calangute beach
The seafood here is ammaazziinngg! Quite the ambience with the beach view. The place gets quite crowded around lunch time. Other than that, one of the must places in Palolem to try out the goan and continental cuisine.
I've been visiting droupadi since 2012. It was my first beach restaurant experience too back in the day. I visit palolem ever year and make sure to eat at droupadi once every time. I have recieved consistent, tasty and pocket friendly food here. The service is super quick and you don't really need to ask for anything twice, unlike most other beach shack restaurants where service is just an afterthought. I recommend having indian food as well as sea food preparations. My most memorable meal here is the tandoori red snapper I had in 2019.
Food was not that great and felt the price was tad high. Kinda over hyped! 4 stars for the view and 3 star for the ambiance. Service was good and the staffs were nice to us.
This place has been here for a long time and the standards remain very high. Great service, lovely fresh fish (snapper tandoori in particular) and a lovely strawberry daquiris.
This place is the first restaurant at the beach entrance. Definitely gives a vacation feel on the beach. It has got a really nice deck like view from where you get 180degree view of the beach. Food here is quite good and reasonably priced. Killer place if you want to kick back and relax.
Not worth it, apart from the sea view the food is not at upto the mark. Exorbitantly priced. You can see what they call Garlic bread. Dissapointing, think ithey Cater to Foreigners who like to eat salads. From Soup to Garlic bread to fish and chips. Seriously they need to improve their taste
Insane costly and the menu is just made for targeting foreigners. The cost of beer is high, the starters are less quantity Indians please don't go there!
Service is very slow also.priority given to foreign customers only.to just get menu card u have to wait for long time.waiters behaviour was also rude may be for indian customers.
Surprisingly, a gem of a place found by accident. Was going through places to have dinner and came aross this one. Amazing beach facing views, super quick service and lip smacking food. The maitre'd was generous enough to make us a makeshift brownie cake which was the highlight of that evening. Truly mind blowing. One must visit place if you are around here. Totally worth it.
Little expensive but food tastes excellent. Pls be prepared for a small waiting time on weekends and season. But the service is definitely worth the wait.
Located by the (Palolem) beach side and pretty famous around. Place is always crowded. Many a times waiting is also there. Food is very tasty and good service by the staff's there. The place has a very hygienic kitchen too. Okhra masala and palak dal were truly lip smacking for us.
The restaurant is located on the palolem beach. It starts after 1230 hrs and frequented by tourists as it has good location. The food is ok. You aman try chicken curry. The rates of seafood is on the higher side and the portions are also very less compared to rates. Nothing exceptional just like any other shack in south Goa. Dont expect too much.
Very bad experience we had yesterday with the food at Dropadi. We ordered Seafood schezwan sizzler and Crispy noodles with Shrimps, both were horrible and disgusting. Especially the sizzler was so bad that we couldn't identify what kind of food it was, we didn't have any sizzler like this, it was a mishmash of rice, carrots, capsicum and half cooked fishes and squids. When we informed the waiter that the food was very bad he told annoyingly it wasn't a right way to talk about their food, other people are also having the same thing without any complaint, why we are complaining. We didn't face any boorish waiter before at any restaurant, when we are paying from our pocket who the hell is he to talk like that, instead of admiting their fault. So in my opinion, think judiciously before ordering.
I wish I could give them less than one star rating. The food was pathetic and tasteless. Server was way to arrogant to handle. Nothing we ordered was good. (We orderer Chicken steak, dal tadka, masala pomfret, hummus garlic bread ash potatoes & chickem tiikka masala) This place is only minting money because of its location. Any people considering this place for its face value.please go to Cuba restraunt located just acroos it. The major turn off including food was the attitude of the server too. So if you really wanna enjoy food and the enticing palobem beach.don't go to DROPADI and waste your money.
