The restaurant's legendary status is well-deserved, mainly for the food and atmosphere. The service leaves a lot to be desired - it has that vibe that most legendary places anywhere in the world have "Not doing us a favour by visiting here". I live in Pune and see this attitude in old-world eateries here too. The staff has been there for years, the business is secure and they are rigid in their ways, hence.

The highlight is ofcourse the delicious food - from the savory beef patties and croquettes, Ham n Cheese sandwich to the tantalizing serradura dessert, each dish was a testament to the place's legendary status. A vegetarian friend had accompanied us and he attested to how good even something as basic as Dal Tadka and Rice was.

No respect for the customers. The staff is very very arrogant. They act like they are doing charity by giving you food. Do not come here if you have self respect. If the management doesn't teach and mould the staff to correct their behaviour and basic manners, they will shut shop soon.

This place is located at old market, Margao, South Goa. It's one of the. Famous restaurant among the tourists. They have good goan cuisine as well as other cuisines on their menu. Lovely food and relaxing place with fly and friends.

The food was good but the quantity was less for a fried rice and tongue which we had ordered

Honestly, way too overhyped. The food was too expensive for the quantity. And, it did not even taste well at all. It was horrible for me.

It has been running for over 7 decades now and it's still manages to wow customers with its amazing food. It's a Landmark place and we had a wonderful time here. Will definitely recommend

If there were zero stars, I would have chosen that. Waiters don't know what service means. Worst service ever i have experienced in my entire life. Guys improve yourself or else you will lose business.

They charged 22%VAT, 5% GST, 10% AC service other than the bill. (There are other options where these charges are not applicable)
They service was too pathetic.

Not what I expected, although the ambience was lovely and the service good, the food although did not match the overall experience one would expect in terms of taste, quantity and presentation. I'm Sorry for the 3 stars but that's what I honestly felt after dining and from the stories I've heard of from the past. Will definitely revisit for a second opinion.

Food is delicious especially the goan snacks like puff pastries, rissoes, croquettes, etc. Ambience is just average and could probably use some paint job it make it seem less lousy.

Burgermeister Burger from Longuinhos!

I won a giveaway organised by them that involved naming their newest burger! This beautiful burger was full of flavour, moist and perfectly cooked chicken patty, tangy sauces and soft bread!

The fries were crispy and yum, just like I like them, and to accompany it all was the coke! Also, they gave a tangy mayo Sauce to serve with the fries, and it was very very good!

I loved every bit of enjoying this gorgeous meal! Would Highly recommend everyone to try out their newest burger!

A true Goan institution in it's own right. A great rustic pit stop in the heart of Margao. Don't miss this place for a beer and some Goan food while in South Goa.

Awsome place to have authentic goan food and a chilled beer. One suggestion for management, add few more beer brands.

Old classy place. Drinks are cheap and food is average. Service can be better. Worth a visit just for the ambience.

A great place with very economically priced menu. Simply great food in general and Goan delicacies of pork vindaloo just mind blowing. Try the prawn Patrice too or the beef samosa. Right opposite Municipal corporation office in Madgaon, very close to New Madgaon market. You can take the local made Bebinca as parcel from here too. A true Goan retreat place.

Another must visit restaurant in Margao city, my first visit was over forty years, well preserve iconic restaurant, met Chef and owner Ivo this time and managed to get an autographed copy of his Goan cook book, a must for ever coffee table, a must visit restaurant

It is my favourite in Goa. Everything here is awesome. Their meat is fresh and tender. The pastry section is as good. Must haves - rum ball, prawn pattice, mince samosa, Goan items.

One of those nice old charm restaurants in Margao. Gives you a similar feel to old Irani restaurants in Mumbai like Kayani and Bastani.

If you like pork, beef, chicken or mutton. It’s all here in good taste. Highly recommended

The service is fast the people are nice the portions sizes are good and so are the prices.got a bowl of yummy stuf when paying the bill.

It's like the old Irani cafes in Mumbai. Try their puffs and cutlets. The Prawn Puff is amazing. Make sure you get there early in the day to be able to savour the puffs.

Not recommended for food, if you want to experience good Goan meal. Also, only God can help you if you happen to be served by one of their most disinterested staff. I don't want to make a personal comment but can't help share the misery we went through while dining there because of this one gentleman.
Food is all very boring. We tried Chicken cafreal and vindaloo. King fish masala was served with cut pieces in a bowl instead of whole fish. We wanted to run away from the place without eating. What would one do when the food was lacking taste and staff was least interested in welcoming you.
I give 2 rating because in midst of busy market, this place stands out fine and has somewhat better feel than a few other eateries nearby.

Historical place, old school type restaurant.somewhat like a landmark of Margao city, been hearing stories of my parents visiting the place when they were young. Lovely atmosphere and a very cost place to spend your time must tries are the beef samosas, croquettes, coffee, carb with cheese which is a speciality served beautifully in it's shell.very popular among tourists

Rude! No doubt the food is tasty however what put me off is the proprietors attitude towards guests. Bordered onto rude at times

Every trip to Goa is not complete until we have visited this wonderful old fashioned watering hole.
Have to order a G and T and savoury selection of their fresh snacks, including beef croquettes, sausage rolls and patties which are really cheap and nice.
It hasn't changed in all the 30 years that we have been coming to Goa and hope it never does.

A very good price to value. Steak was excellent so was chicken and sausages although a bit to spicy for average european. All and all it's a really great place. Staff was cortious. Interior is a bit lacking i suppose but it is compensated by food quality, portion size is average.

A trip to Margao is never complete without eating here. Fish curry rice or prawn curry rice with a beer is something you would crave for. Tasty and clean. The toilets can be improved since more often than not travellers come to eat here. Foreigners as well as locals all brush shoulders together here.

Old world charm, gorgeous food and quick bites. Superb quality for great prices. Lots of local diners so you know it's authentic even if you are in doubt. Our waiter Shekar was the best and has been here for a really long time. Loved the ambiance and the service.

It is a quaint old place in the heart of Margao. One of the oldest eating places. The atmosphere is like time has stood still. A big screen TV brings crowds in during soccer matches

The food is traditional Goan and finger lickingly good. You also get good steaks and roasts. The Chinese food on the menu is extremely street-India tasting and completely yummy.

The prices are very reasonable. Don't expect fancy. Expect old world charm and you won't be disappointed!

Food was good not bad but could have been better. We had the prawns fry, mussels fry and squid fry with a fish Curry and rice. The fish curry was good but the fried items weren't worth a second visit. A bit on the pricier side for margao. Also service and ambience was so-so

This is an old watering hole in the downtown area of Margao. Parking is a bit of a challenge. We had stuffed bangude (mackerel), butter and masala squid (quite expensive!), fish and chicken curry. The beer was chilled and the service quick. The atmosphere is old world and kind of like living in a sepia print.

I love this classic restaurant. Its right in front of the Madgaon library and they offer hygienic, decent food. Their a Bar and restaurant just like most of Goan restaurants and is decent for family crowd. The owner is now the 3rd generation of the business and a proud aurther of a book discribing Goan Cuisine. Ths restaurant's interior is so beautiful. And sitting at this restaurant for hours sipping on drinks and snacking away won't hurt you or your wallet.

One of oldest and very famous restaurants in Margao. Looking for authentic Goan food this is place for you with beautiful ambiance. You get drinks, wide variety of yummy dishes.good place for quick bites especially for tourists. The only challenge here would be getting parking space. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect place for English Breakfast. Overall it's a very good restaurant.

A legendary place. And like most legendary places, has old and inept waiters and mediocre food, but good vibes and easy on the pocket.

Not so impressive steak. A little bit pricey than other places who serve same dishes better. Old stained tableware. Outdated lightings. It was more like you are sitting inside a half dark room. Need to improve over all look and feel of the place first thing

Here on Wednesday evening. Place deserted. Menu limited. Service indifferent. Fried fish took 45 minutes. And it was soaked in oul. Taste just bearable.
