Venite Bar and Restaurant

Very rude. Bland food. Would never suggest. Took a long time to bring order and that too wrong one. Have no courtesy to offer even an apology.would not even give 1 star

This is our one of the favourite places to visit when in Panjim. The Vibe is amazing and it takes you back in time. Located in a calm lane of Panjim this restaurant is part of a heritage building. We love the way they have kept that old school charm alive. Food is good too. You should not miss this when in Panjim.

We were walking along fountainhas road and searching for Joseph's bar. Unfortunately it was around 12 and the bar was not open. Stumbled upon this place. It was a real treat.you enter and it feels like you are transported to how old Goa would have been. Remnants of fishing nets.floorboards tcarved put of wreckage and a great service. Come here for the history.the coffee feni liquor and the traditional Goan Portugese cuisine. For vegetarians there is a very limited options but mocktails and drinks are decent. A must see.
For non veg.try the fish cutlets, feni liqueur and squid.

The reviews looked good and they opened much earlier than most other restaurants in the area so we decided to check it out. Can say with some certainty that the atmosphere is the best part of the restaurant. While they do have excellent options and an amazingly decorated space the food was not able to keep up. If you’re coming for just a quiet drink or coffee the juices were good. Otherwise I may look for other food in the area.

Absolute must visit. You can truly get into spirit or Latin quarter with atmosphere and view from Balcony. And food was also great

The delightful music, chilled beer, and friendly staff are what makes this place authentically Goan and a part of my heritage that I adore. Not to mention their absolutely delicious menu items and off-the-wall specials that traverse the line between your regular meal and a feast fit for a king. I can not recommend this place enough. Keep up the good work.

One of the best restaurant if you are looking for Portuguese food, location is nice and the restaurant have cool old school kind of vibe to it. I tried multiple things and all of them were amazing, staff was good and very attentive. Must visit you are in Goa.

Worst attitude by owner. Non Tourist friendly… doesn’t know how to be hospitable to tourists… highly non recommend

If you are willing to ruin your vacation at Goa, this is a must visit food joint. The whole family only had food from this restaurant the whole day and was sick throughout the four day vacation. When reported to the authorities, they kept justifying their end trying to save their reputation. Least importance was given to our health and concern.

Quite simply my favourite restaurant in the city. Clean, charming and honest to the core, Luis serves up the best of true Goan hospitality and cuisine. The fare is a nice blend of Goan and European and has quite a few classics, rarely to be found in modern restaurants.

The balcao seats overlook the street below and are nice cosy whether in the day or night.

Hedrich is a wonderful host and ensures his team works together flawlessly to give you a great experience here.

Wanted the vibe of Goa while having lunch and this was the place. Great food and great people. Looking forward to going there again.

This is the worst restaurant in Panjim
They charge a bomb for the miniature portion which doesn't have a taste. They are oriented toward 1-day tourists who just like a nice place to seat, BUT NOT TO EAT.

The place is a definitely must visit. Reasons why you must visit
1. Ambiance. The place has such a lovely feel to it.
2. Service. In Goa as a tourist I have noticed how service can take a back foot but at this face it was at its top right from start to end.
3. Food and drinks. Everyhting we ordered was so nice to drink and tasty to eat.
4. They open early and stay on till quite sometime.
So cheers have fun exploring. Do try the balcony seats if ur able to fit in there. Also as its out in the open there might be some flies. Tc have fun

Great place, beautiful ambience and amazing food. But pricey but good quality continental and Goan food. All in all a great experience.

Great place, very friendly and superb ambience. We had the chicken xacuti with Goan bread and it was excellent.

The old-world charm of the building and the lanes of Fontainhas were incredible. The starters and the cocktails were great too. Loved the overall experience.

Beautiful classic restaurant with helpful staff. Enjoyed the kokum feni cocktail and local IPA with Goan sausages and spaghetti alio e oglio.

It's a nice place to chill out. Good food and lovely ambience. The staff is courteous and polite helpful in menu suggestion.

A beautiful restaurant with an amazing vibe. Since I am a global Traveller, it gave me a sense of being in Italy. Those narrow lanes, nice country music, sitting in a balcony and having a glass of beer. Just cannot go wrong. Prawns fry with Recheado masala was just yum. It complemented the weather, ambience and Beer. Overall a must place to try.

We love this restaurant. It's one of our go to joint whenever we are at Goa. It's quaint and the service is awesome. They're not shy to make suggestions to suit your choice and food is lovely, though vegetarian options are highly limited.

Eaten there in 1991 with our kids aged 1 and 4yro. Food was excellent then. The dining hall was painted with sketches and travellers experiences from all over the world. Ate fried Bombil and grilled chicken back then.
The food was just as excellent last night. We had fish and chips, chicken and mushroom steak and a chorizo platter. Would definitely dine there again. The young man who helped us with our orders was very pleasant and polite. Recomend the restaurant to anybody loking for a good dining experience. Bon Venite!

It’s a beautiful restaurant set in an old Portuguese house/building. The guy managing it was friendly. Food was quite different to anything we tasted in Goa. I had veg xacuti and it was subtle and delicious. Nice change from all the overly flavoured food that makes everything taste like North Indian food.

Restaurant has rich heritage which can be observed in the interiors of the outlet. A must-visit for history geeks. Cuisine in my opinion had a goan - Portuguese element to it. Menu is leaned towards the "pricey" segment of Restaurants in the area. Alcohol prices were nominal.

The stuffed craps are to die for! One of the best! The vibe is bang on, and the service perfect, coz the staff have a great sense of humor as well.

Please add this place to your itinerary, trust me you'd love it. It's a complete package if you are looking to have a chill time while enjoying the rustic feel of the place. Staff is so welcoming and will make you comfortable. Great work guys!

5 stars is the average of all my visits to Venite, everytime I'm in Goa, though not indicative of my last visit which was a bit of a disappointment in terms of service and food quality. Maybe they were overwhelmed that night or whatever. On a perfect evening, seat yourself at a balcony table, enjoy the menu of the day and endless rounds of fenny. I will be back.

This is a quiet place in Panjim with delicious food. Have been there 3 times over 7 years and the food has always been amazing. We usually order something from the specials menu that is put up on a board. The decor gives an old Goa vibe and there are verandah tables where you can enjoy a meal while looking at Panjim by lanes. Must visit for a quiet time with great food.

Exceptionally Excellent! Food is superb. The staff are excellently trained and the place is a delight. " A violet by a mossy stone". Great value for money!

Visted again after one year was dissapointed with the food not what i expected for me it had gone downhill which was a shame such beautiful quaint place.

Really cute place, old world charm. Food was decent, but nothing to write home about. Quantities left much to be desired.

The cafreal was something unique! Got some sides and veggies as well.

It could be good with their foods and service and should have been a pleasant dinner but got the really weird rude and old customer to disturb you when you have the drinks there. Never again!

Great space, balconies are the best place to enjoy a glass of port wine or a Kingfisher. Staff is friendly. The one thing I would note though is that it's not a cheap place, depends on what you order.

Had the best pasta by far and I would definitely visit again. Great ambience and the hospitality of the staff was boundless.

Love the ambience. The balcony is just perfect for a romantic dinner for 2. The food is lovely and the hosts are very accommodating.

I've been visiting Venite with family and sometimes friends quite frequently for many years now. The food is very balanced, easy on the stomach and wallet, tasty, and well presented. The ambience is very conducive to quiet conversation. The serving staff know us and very friendly. The decor makes us feel at home.

This place is a must visit. Found this place by accident, the tables arranged at the windows attracted out attention. Food here is yummy and most importantly the people who work here are very helpful and they keep the customer's needs in mind. We tried sea bass fish, bombay duck fish and a dessert i dont remember the name but i think it was caramelized rum banana something which was very tasty (it is in their menu, a must try).

I was a regular visitor to venite from 1989, to 95 Great hospitality, yumi food, very good ambience. I wish them all success.the owner himself does almost everything.

Hospedaro Venite, to give it it's full name - a cheerful place with cheerful and friendly staff. The restaurant is on the first floor of a two hundred year old edifice and retains an old world charm. The walls of the bar section are covered in graffiti and the dining room, apart from normal tables, has little alcoves with tables for two. All this makes for a happy dining experience.

Tasty food, artsy-down-to-earth ambience, great service and recommendations by the server. He was even kind enough to take this photograph for us, and put a standing fan near us to keep us cool. Don’t be misled by the multiple types of pasta in the the seafood aglio, it was delish grateful a friend recommended this place to me, otherwise I wouldn’t have found it lol

This place is love! The ambience, the smell of history, the walls with all the messages, the service and the FOOD! Don't miss the crabs in any form, go for the fish of the day. Been here a hundred times or more and never been disappointed.

The food at Venite was delicious. We had squid pepper fry, beef steak and fresh Bombay ducks rawa fried and all 3 were well prepared! Their watermelon mojito was quite a pleasant surprise. The service and ambience was very good too.
I was only disappointed with their serradura which was served frozen. We did inform the waiter about it who told us that it would melt in a minute, but that unfortunately didn't happen. Eventually, it tasted like frozen serradura icecream.

PROS:
- *Ambiance* is lovely. Interior is unlike any. The place retains it's antique (being an old building) with trinkets placed here and there for decoration. Best to visit after dark.

-Special two seaters in tiny balconies overlooking the (somewhat empty) road below. Romantic ️

-*Menu* is mainly Portuguese which the server is happy to decrypt and suggest fantastic options depending on your taste.

-Locally brewed *Drinks* available which are a must-try. The server will help here too!

CONS: (not that these will prevent me from visiting again)

-its difficult to locate at first being in a narrow lane. The name of the restaurant isn't written too boldly as well (which adds to it's elegance).

-if u are looking for normal normal food then there's no point visiting this place. It's all abt taking risks and broadening your taste palate.
