Villagers are struggling hard for upkeep but plastic waste and plastic foods and packages are littered on each floor and space literally everywhere in vav.
Ignore all these and look for the finer points in this vav.

અંબાપુરનો પગથિયા વાળો કૂવો એ રાજ્યની રાજધાની ગાંધીનગરની નજીક આવેલા અંબાપુર ગામમાં છે. આ વાવ 15મી સદીમાં બાંધવામાં આવ્યું હોવાનું માનવામાં આવે છે, જોકે તેમાં કોઈ શિલાલેખ નથી. સ્ટેપ-વેલ અથવા 'વાવ', જેને ગુજરાતીમાં કહેવામાં આવે છે, તે જટિલ રીતે કોતરવામાં આવેલ છે અને તે પાંચ માળની ઊંડાઈ ધરાવે છે. આવા પગથિયાં કુવાઓ એક સમયે ગુજરાતના અર્ધ-શુષ્ક પ્રદેશો માટે અભિન્ન હતા કારણ કે તેઓ પીવા, ધોવા અને નાહવા માટે મૂળભૂત પાણીની જરૂરિયાતો પૂરી પાડતા હતા. આ કુવાઓ તહેવારો અને પવિત્ર ધાર્મિક વિધિઓ માટેના સ્થળો પણ હતા.

The Ambapur step well is located in Ambapur village near the state capital Gandhinagar. The wav is believed to have been built in the 15th century, though there is no inscription. The step-well or 'Vav', as it is called in Gujarati, is intricately carved and is five stories deep. Such step wells were once integral to the semi-arid regions of Gujarat as they provided basic water needs for drinking, washing and bathing. These wells were also places for festivals and sacred rituals.

It is the heritage location which is known for its handmade design and ancient architecture. Step-well is well maintained and quiet peaceful place for the history lovers.

Sunday cycling (35 km) : : Ambapur Vav

Oye ato adalaj ni vav hai me zoyeli hai. But this is not the Vaw located in Ambapur village, 4 km from Adalaj.
Now in the 20th-21st century, we are ruling the world (saying so is not even possible at home). In the 18th-19th century, before the British ruled you, the Mughals ruled, before that Rajput and Hindu kings ruled.
Every Raja Maharaja did many works for the people, one of them was building a dam to solve the water problem in his area. The praiseworthy thing is that even after this century, he is still like that when the house built by you gets dilapidated after 30 years.
This wav is located inside Ambapur village.
You will not find any difference between this Vav and Adalaj Vav because the builder is the same Raja Rani (the architect will also be the same). The work of Adalaj Vav was completed by Mohammad Begda while the work here was done by Rudabai A.
Both the Vavs are managed by the Department of Mythology of India. But it seems that the officials of the department have forgotten to visit or take care of these Vavs.
This wav was built in the 15th century by Rudabai Vaghela in the memory of Ranjit Singh Vaghela. This wav is systematically constructed.
To enter the Vav, one has to go through the temple of Ambe Mata, so one has to go inside the Vav with shoes in hand. The Vav has 5 floors inside which has 250-270 steps. There are various types of pictures, pillars and steps on the walls and doors. The structure is so beautiful that you can't stay without taking 30-40 photos. There is a board outside the Vav "No photography" now because only the administrators can explain it sitting in the AC office.
There are piles of garbage inside the Vav, there is lack of cleanliness. If the government does not do all the work, some work can be done by the villagers. The Vav is so beautiful that tourists can gather. If the tourists come, they will take padika wafers from around, If you park the car, you will get money, the name of the village can become famous. The temple located next to it is very clean, but this is not visible, I don't know why.

This is five storey nanda type stepwell which is located 5 km from the koba circle as well as adalaj ni vav and also protected by state arachaeology department. The important thing is its carving is very similar with compare to adalaj ni vav.

This is a five storied Nanda type stepwell located 5 km from Koba Circle as well as Adalj's Wav. Significantly, its carvings are very similar to those of Adalj's Wav.

My Native And My Kuldevi Place with Lots of greenery which makes mind and heart peace with just watching and preying goddess Ambe Ma. Love to visit again and again.

I was visited these place at sunday afternoon. I have seen many photographers for taking Pre-wedding video. So it is good place for Pre-wedding type shooting.

Nestled inside the Ambapur village, the vav cant be accessed via public transport. From the highway its about 1 km inside. The lore of the well dates back to the deity Amba and built around the same time as the adalaj. Some say this was done as a practise well before creating the main vav at adalaj. Though not being a tourist spto, it kept clean and tidy by the villagers. Good to go during the day time as their would be good sunlight to walk inside.

This is best place for photography. There are no crowd on weekdays. You can freely capture photos. Entree is free but the cleaners charge money for photoshoot and cleaning

One of the oldest and amazing vav.

It is just inside Ambaji temple entrance.

It's too deep step well and must visit place.

Pathetic place pathetic people there.cleaners from there charge you money to take a photo there and they say this is cleaning money. Very very rude behaviour and they do even lit plastic that cause gases and smoke so people go away after giving money.

Vav us uncleaned, a one person came for cleaning after showing too much people in Vav and after some part of area cleaning he was asking for money. It's not first I visited two times and noticed that. Is Gujarat govt not provided fund to save heritage area and clean that area.

No One Know about this step well. But seriously it's an amazing stepwell. Its architecture and Carving are too good. In each floor of this step well you can see different different types of engraving. If You're Historical type photographer then must visit to this step well. I'm sure you can see & capture a lots of things.

Best place for photoshoot, neat and clean place.they clean and decorate the place every year this day known as "ambapur vav- shrungar divas" on this day whole vav decorated with lights and diya

Request to gram panchayat to keep it clean. Inform State government for promotion. Temple is very nice.

One of step well near Ahmedabad.
The places is in ruins and not maintained well. But again a must visit. Since the overall structure is very beautiful and is next to a Durga Mata temple.

Very nice place, must visit for the architecture, natural place, if you love village life and nature, really enjoy!

The well itself is beautiful. But highly underrated and unmantained. It can greatly benefit the local economy if it can be developed on the lines of the Adalaj Stepwell, but alas!

Its a very good place for photography. For adalaj stepwell you have to take permission but here you can shoot without any permissions. Good place for pre wedding or for traditional ethnic wear photography.

EDIT: Now pre wedding is not allowed here.

It is same as in Adalej ki Vaav. Only difference is that was maintained and under Archeology Survey of India. But Ambapur Vaav was not maintained. It's situated near Temple and fully opened till last as no water in well.

Not even single visitor there.
It's located in village Ambapur and just beside the temple. Location need some development and promoted to tourism place.

Historic Place. Prefer For Pre-wedding. But Only In Sunset. After Sunset There Is Too Much Dark Side.

Photography atyre vaav ma allowed nathi. Atle tame tya photography mate jata hov to nirash na thata.

Awesome place for prewedding shoot. Vaav will come after entering into temple. Little care require to survive this heritage vaav

The ancient place is not maintained very well or else it's one of the best tourism place like Adalaj ni vav

Very nice place, 15th century monument & attached with Ambe ma temple, approaching also from temple only, Newly married or engaged couple also doing couple photography here with commercial photographer.

Place is just an option for people who can't visit adalaj step well.
Not at all maintained.
Few Locals at the step well are just too loot visitors. Ofcourse not all are same.
