Andhjan Mandal or BPA is one of earliest institutes for Blind and differently abled persons in Gujarat. They do great work by empowering people. You can donate money, old clothes, old goods, toys and other items which the children living there can use.
It is a different place on earth to understand how visually impaired live their lives without any assistance. One more attraction is a centre- Vision in Darkness. A real world for sighted people to experience how a visually impaired experience his/her world. An unique project must visit. There are various buildings catering different needs of physically impaired people. Building No 8, where ' Vision in Darkness' project is situated, has one more conversation centre, with more modern equipments and sitting arrangement. Please visit 'Vision in Darkness' if you have not visited yet, to have the first hand experience of a visual impaired person.
I have visited this place for a seminar once. And then decided to go and do something for blind friends. So, you can go and donate food, clothes and help in whichever way you can. They show you completely how this institute works. You can plan in groups and visit for all they are thought, their learning process and how do they recognise everything being blind.
Worth visiting once. Should definitely meet up blind school students and understand their point of view towards life. Even they make amazingly useful products from waste to best.
Very good social service, you can participate by way of donations not only monetary but also by way of donating new/used clothes, toys, food items and anything you want.
Good for blind and visually challenged people. Having school for them. Different skill learning activities for them. Also having physiotherapy centre for general public. Blind people can also learn physiotherapy treatment
A great organization. In this association to educated the blind child and people of different different courses. To make empower and confident. To give employment of disable people.
Spent 3 hours here. The facility is very old and designed keeping in view the needs of blinds. The teachers are amazing, they told me that the blinds are deprived of only one sense that is their vision but other four senses of theirs are so much developed that they overcome this deprivation. On contrary we the people with all five senses are so much dependent on our eyes that other 4 senses of ours are shadowed by it. A blind can thoroughly handle himself in dark using touch, smell, sound and taste. The food offered to the students here is quite good. I had an opportunity of serving the food and it felt awesome.
They organised a 12 km cyclothon event for children with deafblindness, had great fun there, even handicapped people took part with their tricycle and also had few conversations with them.
Dedicated persons working for the betterment of the differently abled persons. They are holding up the Goverdhan hill like Lord Krushna, we should support them by placing the sticks under the hill.
It's a very beautiful and lively place to visit and have an experience. You will be amazed with the various works being done there by specially abled people. The experience of dark museum is altogether different there.

As of Rakhi, thought of sharing our happiness with these people, so visited this place yesterday. Saw the amazing work that the people out there were doing. Got to know some talented students playing musical instruments and singing. They live in their own colorful world! Discussed the scenario with their principal sir who himself is such a down to earth person. Also bought artistic bags made by them only. Just a single thing to say, in this covid situation; make a little time and visit this place. Do some charity or buy something from them. They have really good crafts made by them. Let's share our happiness with the people around!
