Jama Masjid or Friday Mosque, also known as Jumah Mosque, is a mosque in Ahmedabad, India.
Built during the Ahmad Shah I period in the late 1423. (before 6000 years approx.)

Near to Pankor Naka this iconic masjid is landmark on Gandhiroad. Neat & Clean place of worship. This place is having a many Islamic followers. On Friday the place is overcrowded by the devotees to offer jumma namaz. It has a very high level of structural impact and is more than 175 years of existence.

Just unbelievable, the efforts did they put in building this mosque is extraordinary. Still maintained pretty good. An enormous mosque with a very large area. This mosque was built in the year 1424. You can also visit the bazaar just beside this mosque. Fabulous

The Jami Masjid is a huge, open ancient mosque that gives you the sense of tranquility and peace in what is busy Old Ahmedabad city.

The architecture is a blend of influences from Persia to Udaipur and it all comes together so well.

Early mornings, in between prayer times, this is a good place to wander around, explore the architecture and the calligraphy. Find a little peace. Then head back out for breakfast.

Famous Muslim mosq. It has it's own reputation. People are gathering regularly for Namaz. It's carving is also very good.

Beautiful place to visit, we were luck to get the tour from the owner of the place, who allowed the females inside the main mosque area. The scale is grand, you enter from what is a narrow dense street, and the sky open a up to the large courtyard. We ended up spending more time here than we had planned, but it was amazing.

This is Ahmedabad's one of the most popular tourist attraction & a popular historical site cum religious place.
Driving through small lanes & reaching here was really a mammoth task & even goggle confused us so many times.
The gr8 mosque was built by Rular ahmed shah in 1423.it was a pleasure visiting this place on a rainy day when the look was enhanced. The mosque is a good architectural marvel & is a must visit place if you are in Ahmedabad.

Not much to see inside as it is quite old and prohibited from entry. The front entrance is a master piece which needs keen admiration.it has details of jain and hindu architecture adopted on the mosque. Half an hour for a normal visit should be enough.

Amazing place for relaxing while rush in Teen Darwaza after having Delicious Crazy Cream Bowl Ice cream at Sheetal Ice cream in front of it

જામા મસ્જિદકે જુમ્મા મસ્જિદ એ ગુજરાત રાજ્યના અમદાવાદશહેરની સૌથી જૂની મસ્જિદોમાંની એક છે. તે અમદાવાદના બાદશાહ અહમદ શાહે ઈ. સ. ૧૪૨૪માં બનાવડાવી હતી. આ મસ્જિદનું નિર્માણ થયું એ સમયમાં આ મસ્જિદ ભારતની સૌથી મોટી મસ્જિદ હતી. મસ્જિદની પૂર્વ દિશામાં અહમદ શાહ, તેમના પુત્ર, અને તેમના પૌત્રની કબર આવેલી છે જે અહમદ શાહ રોજાતરીકે ઓળખાય છે અને નજીકમાં જ તેમની પત્નીઓની કબર પણ આવેલી છે જે રાણીના હજીરા તરીકે ઓળખાય છે.

Beautiful Architectural designed Masjid by Sultan Ahmed Shah king of Ahmedabad. Second largest Jama masjid after Delhi jama masjid. Beautiful carving on the wall of Masjid. The main structure of Masjid having more than Hundred of Pilar's. It s carving are combination of Hindu- Muslim architecture. So much peaceful place. There are also other heritage places near jama masjid.

One of the best experince of life time the time u enter the masjid the fresh air u feel and the blessing ur ears that silence in the atmosphere is amazing

It's too old place in Ahmedabad and good place.
But it is in poor area.

And also here good environment that give us very very freshness.

The Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad was probably the largest mosque in the Indian subcontinent built in this period. Designed as part of a major plan desired by the Emperor Sultan Ahmed Shah, the mosque is located south of the processional axis that runs from the Maidan-i Shah at the door with three arches, Teen Darwaza.

To the west of the mosque are the tombs of Ahmed Shah I, his son and his grandson, Ahmed Shah's Tomb. Nearby are the graves of the queens and the other wives of the king, Rani no Hajiro.

Built by Sultan Ahmed Shah in A. D. 1423.

Considered to be the high water mark of mosque design on western India.

Most of the architectural effect is concentrated in the sanctuary.

The flagged courtyard is 255' X 220'

Sanctuary Facade:

The architect has combined the two types of sanctuary facades, the screen of arches and the pillared portico, with the screen in the centre and the portico on the wings.

The juxtaposition of the two elements creates contrast between the volume and strength of the wall surface and the depth and airy lightness of the colonnade.

The large central archway has large moulded buttresses of minarets on either sides, whose upper parts have now disappeared.

Two smaller archways are placed on either side of the central one.

Directly visible through the archway in the shadows is the colonnade of the interior with its engrailed arch springing lightly from its slender columns.

One of the biggest mosque in Ahmedabad. Great big place, and very quiet also. Located in between the main markets of Ahmedabad. You will sure enjoy your visit.

Location was very conjusted traffic, road is one way, no parking area, prefer morning time for visiting

One of the must visit places of Ahmedabad. The people are so good that they don't even have any problems in shooting videos unlike any other places. 5/5.

Such a great and beautiful structure.pillars designs are awesome.two storey building reminds me visit of qutub minar.most of the part is looks like temple and at the west door I found some destroyed idols on pillars.see in pic.looks like this was an old temple structure later converted to mosque.

Good place to visit in Ahmedabad nxt to LAL Dharwaza, this place is completely historic and photographs are allowed, on the left side to the entry there is a way to Dharga_! Sacred place and nice tomb with islamic architectural details_! On the mainroad we can see the shopping are, bargaining brings you profit
