We visited Jambughoda before summers in February.
Best season to visit - Rainy season- As due to Rain all Jungle and wild terrine turns into Lush green landscape, Winter is also good season to visit.

Distance- From Ahmedabad - 170 Kms, Vadodara - 70 Kms.

Route - Ahmedabad - Vadodara - Pavagadh - Jambughoda (Take route of BODELI town)

Places of Interest - Jhambughoda Wild Life sanctuary
Zand Hanuman - Temple of God Hanuman with some interesting surroundings of old heritage style small idols of god and broken structures of temples.
Kara dam - Natural lake surrounded by small hills where you can even do small trekking - Beware, This is Sanctuary with Black bear and Leopards so before going on trekking speak to locals or authorities then decide.

Food - On the way to Jambughoda town, on state highway many small restaurants are there where you can have food. Best if you find local road side small Stalls of Native adivasi people, On Request they also prepare authentic Adivasi food like Makke ki roti and as per season vegetable sabji.

Nice place for wildlife enthusiast and has a nice forest with many wild animals and birds. Great greenery and has many waterfalls which are active during rains.

If you like nature than must visit this place. It has lake with mountains look so much amazing.and has many animals like leopard, snakes, scorpion, many birds.

Nice trip with heavy rain at zandhanum Temple, it's beautiful to watch greenery and mountain at jambughoda.

There are many treks here but some require permission, So better have the knowledge of it and then visit

You can trek here family and kids for which pavagadh seems difficult and here the elevation is also low

A nice weekend gateway from Ahmedabad & Vadodara in monsoon. Book a stay in advance & enjoy the forest life. No mobile network zone & I love it. You may get electricity issues like me because they do not have any power backup. Goverment should provide a DG or something like that to increase the tourism in this sanctury.

Excellent place for a tracking specially during rainy season! Haven't seen as such wild creatures but nature was at it's best!

A brilliant wildlife experience right in the heart of Gujarat. Perfectly preserved and offers many options to explore it. One such property is Wilderness Homestay. Worth a hike. Would love to c a few cabin resorts developed in it. Gujarat lacks tourism primarily due to being dry state. Believe it or not but restrictions play a major role. I am for it but resort patrons must b allowed to carry based on permits or out of Gujarat residence proof

Peaceful place includes check dam and hathani mata water fall and Nazar mata water fall explored earlier by me, Many hidden place yet to discover.

I am a kind of regular visitor of this sanctuary. There are Lots of places in here to visit. Night camp is my one of the great experience in this sanctuary.

Serene place to visit, especially after rains.nature at its best in small mountains. If you are lucky, you may see vulture at early morning.

Jambughoda is a village and Tehsil in Panchmahal district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The village has a population of 2,731, while the overall tehsil has a population of 42,476. The Tehsil is well known for the Jambu Ghoda Wildlife Sanctuary.

Full of forest of teak and mahuda trees, bamboo, and other lush vegetation, Jambughoda is home to large population of a variety of wildlife. The leopard is the primary predator, and its numbers have been increasing recently. Other large wildlife includes the wild boar, nilgai (blue bull, the largest antelope in Asia) and chausingha (the four-horned antelope). There are many places to hike through the forests in the sanctuary and it is a great site for camping. There is also a forest rest house available beside the Kada reservoir, for those who don’t want to camp out.

Home to a wide variety of mammalian species, Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary makes for a great spot for a one-day picnic with your family and kids. If you are a wildlife enthusiast, you will be delighted to spot not just wild animals but a variety of reptiles and birds as well in this forest reserve. The sanctuary has two water reservoirs within its premises, which add to its aesthetic beauty. You can enjoy trekking and safari tours in this adventurous wildlife zone.

Nice place but don't waste whole day for it, it's only dam and nothing more, no wild animals found, yes this place is very good for peace.
There is 2 water dams- 1) Kada Dam 2) Targala Dam. Both are very good.

Lush green forest area full of Teak wood and Bamboo trees and a beautiful Lake surrounded by Green hills. Very scenic place to visit with family and especially with children. A 2-3 km jungle tracking with a guide can be done. Entry and guide fees will be applicable.

Must visit if you are a wildlife lover, mostly seen wild animals - Sloth bear, Leopard, Wild Boar, spotted deer, Nilgai and many more.

Full of nature.but for old people it is little problematic place rest all is good.fresh air without pollution is really good

Very peaceful. U get very pure environment. To avoid in summer.one should carry food with them. Good for one day picnic. U will get water stream in rain y season.

Veryr much pretty amazing nature and wildlife things! But they charge too much for everything. Also a good place for photoshoot but you cant shoot it on camera! Besides it this is a good place!

Best place if you are a nature lover. Government is doing really well towards Eco tourism Department. You will find Dark forest all around, which will be absolute adventure for anyone. There are Government quarters at the site for night stay. They might not be that clean as Hotels due to lack of maintenance. But there Are many other attractions which will compensate this part very well. A must visit place especially in monsoon with your loved Buddies in Group!

It's good natural place. Place is awesome. You can see a beautiful lake surrounded by hills. Greenry is well. There is a guest house to stay. I would like to tell that it has chargeble entry. Entry fee is too high.

જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્ય ભારત દેશના પશ્ચિમ ભાગમાં આવેલા ગુજરાત રાજ્યના પંચમહાલ જિલ્લાના જાંબુઘોડા તાલુકામાં આવેલું છે. જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્ય ચાંપાનેરથી આશરે ૨૦ કિલોમીટર અને વડોદરાથી આશરે ૯૦ કિલોમીટરનાં અંતરે આવેલું એક વાંસ, મહુડા, સાગ તેમજ અન્ય વનસ્પતિસભર અભયારણ્ય છે. મે ૧૯૯૦ની સાલમાં અભયારણ્ય તરીકે જાહેર કરાયેલું આ વન વિવિધ પ્રાણી ઉપરાંત ઝેરી અને બિનઝેરી સરિસૃપોનું પણ આશ્રય સ્થાન છે. જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્યની એક લાક્ષણિકતા એ પણ છે કે તે પર્વતીય વિસ્તારમાં આવેલું એક જુજ માનવ વસવાટ ધરાવતું અભયારણ્ય છે જેનાથી તેના પ્રાકૃતિક સૌંદર્યમાં અનેકગણો વધારો થાય છે.
આઝાદી પહેલા, આ વિસ્તાર જાંબુઘોડા રજવાડા સાથે સંકળાયેલ હતો. ગાઢ જંગલની ટેકરીઓમાં તેમ જ ખીણોમાં ઘણી આદિવાસી વસાહતો વસવાટ કરે છે. આ અભયારણ્યમાં જંગલોમાં ફરવા માટે ઘણા સ્થળો છે (ટ્રેકિંગ સાઇટ્સ) અને તે એક શાનદાર વન વિહાર સ્થળ છે. આ ઉપરાંત એક વન વિભાગ આરામગૃહ, અભયારણ્ય, બે જળાશયો નજીકમાં ઉપલબ્ધ છે.
દિપડો આ અભયારણ્યનું મુખ્ય શિકારી પ્રાણી છે આ ઉપરાંત શિયાળ, વરૂ, ઘોરખોદિયું, રીંછ વગેરે માંસાહારી પ્રાણીઓ પણ અહીં વસવાટ કરે છે. શાકાહારી પ્રાણીઓ જેવાકે હરણ, નીલગાય (વાદળી બુલ, એશિયા ખંડનું સૌથી મોટું સાબર), ચોશિંગા હરણ (ચારસિંગા કાળિયાર) વગેરેનું પણ જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્ય આશ્રય સ્થાન છે. વિવિધ જાતનાં સાપ, અજગર, મગરમચ્છ જેવા સરીસૃપો પણ અહીં વિપુલ માત્રામાં જોવા મળે છે. અભયારણ્યમાં આવેલા સાગ, સિસમ, ખેર, મહુડો, વાંસ, બીલી, દુધળો, વગેરેનાં વૃક્ષો ને કારણે પક્ષીઓ પણ ઘણી સંખ્યામાં જોવા મળે છે. આ વન્યસૃષ્ટિ અભયારણ્યમાં બનાવવામાં આવેલા બે બંધ (કડા ડેમ અને ટારગોલ ડેમ) માંથી પોતાની પાણીની જરૂરિયાત પુરી કરે છે. આ બંધો ક્ડા અને ટારગોલ ગામની પાસે બાંધવામાં આવેલા છે. અભયારણ્યમાં શિકારી પ્રાણીઓ માટે શિકાર એવાં શાકાહારી પ્રાણીઓની નજીવી અછતને કારણે ઘણી વાર દિપડા જેવા પ્રાણી સ્થળાંતર કરતા છેક વડોદરા સુધી પહોંચ્યાના બનાવો પણ ભૂતકાળમાં બન્યા છે.
જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્ય બસ દ્વારા પહોંચવા માટે નજીકનું બસમથક શિવરાજપુર છે જ્યાંથી અભયારણ્ય માત્ર એક કિલોમીટરનાં અંતરે આવેલું છે. ટ્રેન દ્વારા પણ શિવરાજપુરથી જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્ય પહોંચી શકાય છે જેનું અંતર દશ કિલોમીટર છે. નજીકનું વિમાનમથક વડોદરા છે જે આશરે ૯૦ કિલોમીટરનાં અંતરે આવેલું છે. ચોમાસામાં અને શિયાળામાં જાંબુઘોડા અભયારણ્યની વન્યસૃષ્ટિ નીહાળવાનો લ્હાવો લેવા જેવો છે. રહેવા માટે કડા બંધ અને ટારગોલ બંધ પાસે સરકારી આરામ ગૃહ બનેલાં છે તથા હમણાં જ વનાંચલ નામે એક નવો રિસોર્ટ પણ શરૂ થયો છે, જે અવનવી સવલતો અને મનોરંજનના સાધનોથી ભરપુર છે.

An easy destination to combine with a visit to Champaner. 70 km from Vadoda. Full of forests of teak and mahuda trees, bamboo and other lush vegetation. Other wildlife include the nilgai, jackal, hyena, deer, sloth bear and chausingha. There three good forest eco tourism sites (Bhat, Targol and Kada dam) in this sanctuary for stay and food. You must have to booked the room in advance here by contacting forest office in Vadodara, kothi char rasta. Best place for jungle and nature lovers.

Amazing place for hangout with friend.going forward there is khand hanuman which is a good place to visit and you can see bhul ki ghanti there.

Kada dam tent site is awrsome but tants are not that good cleaninlyness. Is low washroom are dirty, other things are really good.
