Birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and the memorial structure constructed here is good. The place has a small museum, books, drinking water, restroom facility. Not far from this place there is house of Kasturba ji. The road leading to this place is very congested. So you will have to park your vehicle someplace far and walk this road. Lots of school kids visit during weekdays and weekends.

Kirti mandir is the memorial temple built adjacent of the house where Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869. Today, the house is a part of Kirti mandir memorial located in Porbandar in Gujarat.

When Gandhiji was released from the Aga Khan Palace by the British government for the last time in 1944, the residents of Porbandar decided to build a monument at his birthplace, which was bought from Gandhi's members.family who lived in it. Gandhi gave his written consent in writing, signing the registration papers which are now displayed in the Kirti Mandir complex. The ancestral home is now a part of the Kirti Mandir complex.
