This place is very nice, specially for children.this place is made by Ahmedshah badshah.today we know it as kankaria.very good place for family for enjoy and spend time with sweet memories.

They have ample of birds also they have very good quality of big cats, really didn't expect that from here.
Lion, Lioness, Tiger, white Tiger and cheetah all looked very healthy.
Reptiles area was very good too.
By the way, the zoo needs a good amount of renovation. Infrastructure is really very old style.
They have very fine grill / cages, which obstruct the view.

The Kamala Nehru Zoological Garden is spread over an area of approximately 110 acres, with a large number of related amenities around the Kankaria Lakefront falling under it. The zoo itself is about 31 acres of the total.

Also known as the Kankaria Zoo (since its located on the banks of the famous Kankaria Lake), this zoo is home to a large number of rare species of Indian animals that have been retained for recreational as well as ecological purposes.

The zoo also conducts breeding of species like crocodiles and the python. It boasts of a dedicated staff that look after all the inhabitants of the zoo with the utmost efficiency and care. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the zoo and, in fact, the entire Kankaria Lakefront.

Amazing experience! You can easily spend a day with wildlife, learn and observe their behaviours. It was fun watching the different species of birds. They even have a reptile house and a nocturnal zoo. Definitely worth it

Very few animals. Some animals like crocodile, deer, pocupine and jackal were in 4-5 different cages. What is the point of keeping same animal in different cages.

It was good but it needs a lot of maintenance which would lead an pleasent experience to the visitors watching animals and to the animals too so that the can live peacefully. Same type of animals are repeated in the first leg of the zoo. One can also hire a buggie at the start of the zoo costing 36 Rs/pp.

An excellent place especially for children to show them the real animals & birds. Besides, the toy train, boat ride, etc.are added attractions.

No any type of adventure its simple zoo I visit afternoon in this zoo most of wild animal like tiger lion is sleeping no any entertainment.

Place is good for an evening or morning walk. Clean place water activities are also good but quite expensive. Food stalls here charge too much but the quality and the taste of food is not up to the mark in my opinion.

This zoo has a lot of potential but lacks proper maintenance and the spark. The area is big, I think with some proper maintenance the visitors' experience can be improved a lot. Although it may be because of the pandemic. The nocturnal zoo is a must visit!

Who ever maintain this zoo must be punished. They are treating animals badly. It is very dirty. No maintenance at all. Bad experience.

The zoo is near the kankaria lake. Very beautiful location with lots of greenery.

It was a bad experience. Perspective 1 - Animals in zoo are in poor condition. Lack of cleaning inside cages and I think they are not providing a good food to animals and birds. I have always been opposed to keeping animals and birds in cages if they are in poor condition. They also have right to live free like us. Agr unki achhe se sewa krte ho to aap unko paltu rakh skte ho lekin unko ek show piece bna k rkhna is really pathetic.

Perspective 2- agr aap yha knowledge gain krne aaye h then it's also avg zoo.there is so many common species which we can saw in our villages in daily life.

Very nicely managed zoo. Worth taking kids there. New ticket rates for adult are 50 Rs and it covers newly made nocturnal zoo as well. Nice place around Kankaria.

Not sure if due to covid they haven't managed Zoo properly, but they need to have some improvements on navigation, cage, board, description of animals, etc. Apart from this, nice place to visit with children and yeah remember to visit it between 3 to 6 so one can visit all animals.

Beautiful place for family and school visits.
Have to walk a lot so wear sports shoes or walking shoes. Keep water bottle to stay hydrated.
