The gate keeper or care taker didn’t allow to see us. He said they are very costly, and can you afford this? This type of attitude towards visitors and potential buyers puts off.

Their work has received accolades in India as well as world-wide recognition! Must see.

The most innovative and unique art work of indian culture can be seen in form of minute work done on saree's. The amount of hard work and skills can be clearly seen in all patola sarees. Must visit this place in Patan. Some innovative skills on paper can also be seen on first floor. Souvenirs are also available in form of Mug.
Well Patola is a very precise and accurate technique introduced years ago when there was no printing machines etc. So it's really a heritage and great to see it alive.
Incredible, amazing, no word's can describe the skills required for weaving a "double ikat" saree. Only one family is practising this art now in India from over 700 families a few hundred years ago. The Salvi family must be supported in every possible way to ensure that this artform is not lost.
