Sidi Saiyed mosque is famous for its beautiful intricate latticework. Its symbolic to Ahmedabad like Charminar to Hyderabad. This place is pretty famous among tourists which is combined lunch/food at House of MG - bang opposite to this place.
If you are there to take few clicks, then head to back side of mosque.
This is an operational mosque so try to avoid during Friday afternoon. Apart from couple of clicks and exploring the history about this place, there isn't anything to do here.

Popularly known as Sidi Saiyyed Ni Jaali, the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque was built in the year 1573 and is one of the most popular and beautiful mosques located in Ahmedabad. This attraction has gained much admiration and reputation over the years, thanks to the architectural grandeur of the entire structure, and in particular, the ornate latticework, known as jali in colloquial terms. It is then no doubt that the place is a paradise for photographers and history buffs alike.

This monument is among the last few mosques that were built under the Gujarat Sultanate and was completed in the last year of their reign before the Mughals invaded Gujarat and defeated them. The construction of this fantastic mosque is credited to Sidi Saiyyed in the retinue of Bilal Jhajar Khan, the general in the army of the last Sultan, Shams-Ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III, of the Gujarat Sultanate. The mosque is especially famous for its beautiful ten stone latticework windows, also known as Jalis, on the side and rear arches. The stone slabs are carved in the designs of intertwined trees and foliage with a palm motif.

It's one of the heritages of Ahmedabad, and well-known Masjid built in 1572 AD by a wise person Sidi Saeed in the era of Muzaffar Shah III, it has also a big role for Ahmedabad to be declared India's first UNESCO world heritage city.

I have visited at late evening. It is an amazing place. It is open to all. The Jali is unbelievable. Really it is one of the wonderful design I have ever seen!

This is an unique net made from a single piece of stone.great architects done in 15th century by king of karnavati. This place is quite crowded but yeah if this place could be at silent and at peace area then displayed could be a best visitor or tourist place in Ahmedabad. But still a happy visitor from Gujarat love lots of love

Very interesting architecture.only saw it from the outside. The "Tree of Life" window was very interesting. I've never seen reference to it in any other mosques I have visited.

Holy palace, famous sidi saiyad ni jali is here just near by lal darwaza, one of the main heritage site of ahamadabad.

Probably it is the best ancient work in Gujarat. There is no need to appreciate its carving and design.

Shorts are not allowed in here.
They follow strict rules and it is the same for all the genders.
Personal experience: - As one of frnd wore the shorts and he was made to tie dupatta around his waist so that he was all covered.

Best lattice work I've ever seen.
It is the Inspiration for the design of the logo of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.

It is the last major mosque built (in 1573) by Mughals in Ahmedabad. It's an emblematic of Mughal lattice work architectural beauty. Tree of life jali is the soul of this spot.
