Tulsi Shyam Temple

This temple is nestled in the Gir Forest. All nature lovers and enthusiasts would like to visit the temple multiple times. Tulsishyam temple is connected with a road between Dhari and Una. There are two temples in Tulsishyam. One temple is on a hill (about 300 steps) whereas the another temple is on the ground overlooking the one on the hill. It's a pleasure watching the beautiful scenery surrounding the temple on the hill. A good feeling definitely.

Highly spiritual and very peaceful place in forest area. There is beautiful arrangement for staying and Lunch/dinner by the trust.

Tulsi Shyam Temple is a tourist center situated in Gir Forest that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple has beautiful hot water springs which are referred to as ‘Taptodak’ in the Puranas.

Free Food (prasadam) provide to pilgrims by temple authority, in monsoon it is nice place to visit

Legend says that Lord Shri Krishna killed the demon named Tul and hence the place is associated with his name along with the name of Krishna as Shyama and is hence called the Tulsi Shyam Temple. This temple is believed to be seven hundred years old. In order to reach here, you need to climb 100 steep steps to the top.  The idol of Lord Tulsishyam is said to be 3000 years old. It is made of black stone. This is a historical and also a peaceful place located in a natural environment and in a small but dense forest.

There are three hot water springs at the location. The first is filled with hot water, in the second the water is hotter and the third spring has boiling hot water. The water is filled with natural sulphur. According to the Puranas, this region is referred to as 'Taptodak', where you can take a dip in the springs.

Interestingly there is also an Anti Gravity Hill,  where vehicles seem to defy gravity and roll from down slope, up the slope. It is 400 meter north of Tulsi Shyam Temple.

There is a natural pool of hot water. The source of natural hot water in the pool is about 37 degrees Celsius. Bathing in this hot water is believed to cure some skin ailments and other ailments. There is a temple of Lord Krishna and Rukshmaniji and there is a forest of Sasan Gir around it.

I do prefer not to go here on holiday days like (Satam, atham) if you want to go here you may prefer to go on regular days
Because on regular days there are no more people over there and you can have all senary there. There are two kunds over there on the left of the temple and there you can have a room to stay and there is Hari har where you can have food also️
And you may also be able to see some wildlife animals on the way to temple enjoy it

Second nearby 5 km there is Anti Gravity road, we practically done it, we are surprise. It's true.

તુલશીશ્યામ પહોંચવા માટે ઉનાથી પાકા ડામર માર્ગે ધોકડવા અને સત્તાધાર થઇને પહોચી શકાય તેમજ જુનાગઢ શહેરથી તુલસીશ્યામ ૧૨૩ કિલોમીટર દુર છે જયાં વિસાવદર,  સતાધાર, ધારી થઇને ડામર માર્ગે પહોચી શકાય છે તેમજ જુનાગઢથી કેશોદ, વેરાવળ, કોડીનાર અને ઉના થઇને પણ તુલસીશ્યામ જઇ શકાય છે. આ અંતર ૧૯૬ કિલોમીટર થાય છે. જે માર્ગે વંથલી,  સોમનાથ, ગોરખમઢી અને પ્રાચી જેવા તીર્થો આવે છે.

Great place to visit and natural beauty is wonderful.
But there is no proper parking arrangements.
Inside temple photography is restricted.

Very good place to visit in monsoon. Only problems is there are nearly 150 BUMPS between 15 km strech of two checkpost. We have counted the no of bumps in that time because of no internet coonection.

Nice place in lap of nature you can see many wild animals on the route of Tulsi Shyam, Hot water Springs are main attraction of Tulsi Shyam.

जंगल के बिच में अच्छी जगह है, मंदिर तथा कुदरती गरम पानी के कुंड है, एक बार यहाँ जरूर दर्शन करे, यहाँ नास्ते के लिए दुकाने है और मंदिर की तरफ से फ्री अन्नक्षेत्र चलता है, फिर भी नास्ता साथ मे रखे क्यों की आस पास जंगल ही है।

This place is settled in Gir Jungle, awesome place. It's gives happiness and peace as it's located in the Jungle. Shree Shyam Lord sighted at base and Godess Rukshmani sighted at top Of Dungar which is also q story of Hindu Mythology.
Near this place there is one point is called Zero Gravity where u can visit too, you can try Zero Gravity by keep ur vehicle at apot and vehicle may start moving without any force as it's Gravity force drive it from Zero Gravity.

Definitely will recommend if you come in Saurashtra near GIRSOMANTH or Gir forest.

One of the best places I visited. The peaceful atmosphere in the lap of nature and you will get the devine blessings of Lord Krishna (Shyam Sundar) and Godess Tulsi (Temple located on hill with approx 500-700 steers).

It is located in middle of Jungle. You will see hot water pond there which is natural. The other attraction is Gravity hill which is just 700 meters from the temple.

I recommend to visit and it is must visit as per my thought.

We have planned to go to tulsi shyam temple when we were going to Diu. One of the best experience if you wanted to see outskirts of Gir National park. You will find a lot of wildlife on the way to temple. If you get any luck you can see the Lion too. Visitors has to keep in mind that the route to Tulsi shyam is through Gir national park. So, you will not get the entry from 8 in the night till 6 in the morning. Plan your trip accordingly. There are not charges to enter Gir through this route.

Good place to hangout with your family and friends. Security level is really good. Temple atmosphere is really good. Canteen also available.

Temple between forest gives you very much peace! Temple management give simple vegetarian dish in lunch and dinner time and they have accommodation too!

Awesome experience with this Holy peaceful place, you have to visit in morning or evening time. Tulsi shyam located in the forest center where you can feel the neture and bojanprashadi is also available in morning or evening time, you can stay in dharamshala at reasonable rate.

Good temple around temple gir national forest probably you see lions, dear alligator monkeys from Tulshishyam chek post to temple,

A beautiful temple located inside Gir forest range where you can see lot of wildlife and if you are lucky, even lions. Well kept and clean temple but the area around needs lot of cleaning as people throw lot of food covers. Hot water springs near temple is a good experience.

Great place to visit. It in gir forest. On one side u enjoy wild life n on other religious temples. Gr8 to watch deers, peacock, monkeys turtles etc. N 3kunds of warm water, tulsi shyam temple n rukmani devi mandir on hill top.
I was not able to see leaped and wont able to feel magnetic road. Overall good place n u need more than 3 hours time to explore n watch it.

Very good place but no clean area around temple.at night stay only few room available here because it is in wild life seatury.in this place you Can get entre in morning 6.00 to evening 8.00 PM without any charge.

Nice hindu temple.but no cleanliness maintained outside the temple.government and management must look into this to make this beautiful location much more beautiful.

કહેવાય છે કે જાલંધર નામનો એક અજેય યોધ્ધો હતો જે ન્યાય માટે યુધ્ધે ચઢેલો. દેવોને તોબાહ પોકરાવી ઇન્દ્રનો ધમંડ એણે ઉતારી નાખ્યો. દેવો તો અમર રહ્યા, મરે નહિ પણ મીનો ભણી ગયા. ભાગ્યા, અને ગયા વિષ્ણુ પાસે. વિષ્ણુ દેવોની વહારે ચઢયા. જાલંધરનું યુધ્ધ કૌશલ જોઇને પ્રસન્ન થઇ ગયા. જેથી જાલંધરને વરદાન માંગવા માટે કહ્યું. જેથી જાલંધરે ભગવાન વિષ્ણુ અને પોતાના બહેન લક્ષ્મીજી સાથે પોતાને ત્યાં વાસ કરવા માટે વરદાન માંગ્યું. જેથી વરદાન આપીને કહ્યુ કે જે દિવસે તું અધર્મનું આચરણ કરીશ ત્યારે મારો વાસ નહી હોય. આમ કહીને દેવોને છોડીને વિષ્ણુએ લક્ષ્મી સાથે જાલંધરને ત્યાં સાગરવાસ કર્યો. જાલંધરનો જેજેકાર વર્તાઇ રહ્યો.

જાલંધરને વૃંદા જેવી સતી સ્ત્રી, લક્ષ્મી જેવી બહેન અને વિષ્ણુ જેવા બનેવી. જેથી જાલંધરના રાજયમાં ધર્મચક્ર ચાલે. હજી દેવો સાથેના વેર પુરાં વળાયા નથી. દિલનો રોષ પુરો શમ્યો નથી. દાઝ ઓલાણી નથી. આ બધુ નારદજીને અજાણ્યુ ન હતું. એ તો નારાયણનું નામ લેતાને વીણા વગાડતા ગયા જાલંધરનાં દરબારમાં અને કહયું કે, વિષ્ણુને લક્ષ્મી છે, મહાદેવને પાર્વતી છે, ઇન્દ્રને ઇન્દ્રાણી છે. એમ તારે શું છે? જેથી જાલંધરે કહયુ કે મારે વ્રૂંદા જેવી સતી સ્ત્રી છે. જેથી નારદજીએ કહયુ કે તે સતી ખરી પણ સ્વરૂપવતી નથી. જેથી જાલંધરને ખટકો લાગ્યો. અને કહે હું બ્રમ્હાંડ ભમીને મેળવી આવું. કોણ છે એવી સૌથી સ્વરૂપવતી? નારદે કહયુ કે પાર્વતી. જાલંધરે કહયુ કે, અરે પાર્વતીને પકડી લાવુ, કૈલાશને ઉંધો નાખુ. અને દેવો સાથેના વેર ખેડવા તો હજી બાકી છે. આમ જાલંધરની મતિ બગડી. ધર્મભ્રષ્ટ થયો. જાલંધરે કૈલાશ ઉપર ચઢાઇ કરી. ઘોર યુધ્ધ કર્યુ અને મહાદેવ ઘાયલ થઇને મૂર્ચ્છા પામ્યા. સતી પાર્વતી અલોપ થયાં.

આમ થવાથી દેવોએ વિષ્ણુને વિનંતી કરીકે હવે તો જાલંધર ધર્મભ્રષ્ટ થયો છે. જેથી ભગવાન વિષ્ણુ જાલંધરના સાગરવાસમાંથી વિષ્ણુલોકમાં પાછા પધાર્યા. જાલંધર હવે તો પાર્વતીનું સત લોપવા યુધ્ધે ચડ્યો હતો. જેથી તેનો નાશ કરવો જે રહ્યો તેમ વિષ્ણુએ નક્કી કર્યુ. આજે જે જગ્યાએ તુલસીશ્યામ છે તે જગ્યાએ ભગવાન વિષ્ણુએ મનોહર ઉધાનની રચના કરી. પોતે એ ઉધાનમાં ધુણી ધખાવીને અવધુત યોગીનું સ્વરૂપ લઇને આસન જમાવીને બેસી ગયાં. આ બાજુ જાલંધર પાર્વતીજીને મેળવવા યુધ્ધે ચડ્યો છે ને દીવમાં સતના અસીધારા વ્રત લઇને જાલંધરના જાપ જપતી સતી વ્રૂંદાને સ્વપ્ન આવ્યુ અને અમંગળ એંધાણીઓ વરતાવા લાગી. તે ઝબકીને જાગી ગઇ તેને થયુકે મારું સત લોપાણુ નથી અને જાલંધર નું અમંગળ થાય કેવી રીતે? શું ત્યારે આ સ્વપ્ન ખોટું? તેનુ મન માનતુ નથી. તે રથ જોડાવીને ખાત્રી કરવા ચાલી. થોડા આગળ જતા જ મનને લોભાવનારુ ઉધાન જોયુ. ઉધાનમાં મહા તેજસ્વી યોગી જોયા. અને જોતાવેંત શ્રધ્ધા બેસી ગઇ અને તે સામી આવીને બેસી ગઇ. જ્યારે યોગીની સમાધી ઉતરી ત્યારે પોતાના સ્વપ્નમાં દેખાયેલ અમંગળની વાતનું સમાધાન પુછ્યું. જેથી યોગીએ ધ્યાનમાં જોઇને કહ્યુકે તેરા જાલંધરનું મુત્યુ થયુ છે. જેથી વ્રૂંદાએ આર્તનાદથી પુછ્યુકે તેની ખાત્રી આપો. જેથી ત્યાં થોળીજ વારમાં જાલંધરના શરીરના અલગ અલગ ટુકડા પડવા લાગ્યાં. અને વ્રૂંદા ત્યાંજ વિલાપ કરતા કરતા પોતાના પતિનું મસ્તક ખોળામાં લઇને બળવા ચાલી. આ દ્રશ્ય જોઇને યોગીની સાથે રહેલા તેના ચેલાની વિનંતીથી જાલંધરને સજીવન કર્યો. પરંતુ જાલંધરે વ્રૂંદાને યોગી સાથે જોતા તેનો ત્યાગ કર્યો. વ્રૂંદાએ મહાપ્રયત્ને જાલંધરના મનનું સમાધાન કર્યુ અને માંડીને વાત કરી. અને બન્યુ એવુકે આ યોગી દ્વારા ઉત્પન થયેલ બનાવટી જાલંધર સાથે વ્રૂંદાએ ભોગ કર્યો. જેથી જાલંધર ત્યાંજ યુધ્ધમાં મુત્યુ પામ્યો. અને જાલંધરનાં વાણી વર્તનમાં શંકા જતા બનાવટ છતી પડી. જેથી વ્રૂંદા સળગી ઊઠી અને કહ્યુ કે તે યોગી થઇને મને છેતરી? તારી સ્ત્રીનું પણ તપસીરૂપે કોઇક હરણ કરશે ને તુ પાણો પઇને પડીશ. તે સમયે ભગવાને પોતાનું ચતુર્ભૂજરૂપ ધારણ કર્યુ. આ જોઇને વ્રૂંદાએ ભગવાનને કહ્યુ કે આપ પ્રભુ થઇને આ અધર્મનું આચરણ કર્યુ? જેથી ભગવાને કહ્યુ કે વૃંદા, જાલંધરની બુધ્ધિ ભ્રસ્ટ થઇ અને એના ધર્મનો લોપ થયો. પાર્વતી તો એની માતા કહેવાય એના ઉપર કુદ્રષ્ટિ કરી. જેથી તેને પાછો વાળવા મારે આ કર્મ બાંધવુ પડ્યુ છે. તારો શાપ યથાર્થ છે વૃંદા. હવે હું પથ્થરરૂપે અવતરીશ ને મારી સ્ત્રીનુ કોઇ તપસી હરણ કરે એવા તારા શ્રાપ માટે મારે રામાવતાર લેવો પડશે.
