One of the best restaurants to have Gujarati traditional food. Start with welcome drink which is lemon mint mojito and its super refreshing you can enjoy with traditional dance.
Dinner is awesome and so many varieties to taste the way they serve the food is like they serving their family member so nice behaviour. And end dinner with some ice creams, dates and pan.
Vishalla is a themed Gujarat setting with cultural performances, a museum of utensils, and a restaurant. The utensils that are displayed are ageless and well-maintained. The cultural performances include folk dance and puppet show which starts in the evening. There is a cattle shed with indigene cows, and also within the property, there is a pottery house where you can see live how clay vessels are made. The highlight of Vishalla is the restaurant which serves unlimited buffet authentic Gujarati cuisine. Visiting this place is a different and unique experience altogether.
Every single thing was awesome in this restaurant, the food was amazing even the staff was friendly and helpful moreover the quality and quantity was on the peak and clearness was also there, which was good. And as per my perspective the most awe moment is the utensils museum it was fantastic and we get to know a lot about our heritage and culture. Overall I must suggest everyone should visit there with there family and friends.
Seems like the place has changed its attitude. Used to be a good place to spend the evening n dinner. But now it's just another place.nothing special.no service.and yeah while eating there's a guy right on your head n keep on asking what do you want! Too irritating.also if you don't remind them they won't even bother to give you even a welcome drink.lol
It's one of the places that has not lost its charm or food quality over years.
It's a perfect place to enjoy traditional guju village meals
It has a It's own character in day time and a rustic feeling In night.
Parking is available for cars
This place is perfect to host your friends from other parts of India and world
Kids can enjoy the puppet show and elders can enjoy the Rajasthani folk dance and music.the traditional sitting arrangements, jhula, the bird watching " machaan" makes it a perfect theme dinner
Bit expensive at 1000 per pax but remember kids below 10 are free.so invite more kids and have fun:)
PS Museums are closed on Mondays.it is something one should not miss
I am thankful to my colleague for throwing a party at Vishalla. It is village theme based restaurant with puppet show and folk dance organised for the guests. Ambience is so beautiful and atmosphere in here is soothing and relaxed. It is one of the best place in Ahmedabad for authentic Gujarati food. All the dishes are delectable and worth every penny. Staff is super active and courteous. Vishalla becomes all the more alluring in the night with lanterns. A must visit place with family and friends for a lovely dining experience.
Ahemdabad me aye aur Vishalla me na gaye to sakht nainsafi hogi. True culture of Gujrat, genuine authentic dishes, ambience of different level, out of this world experience in fact. Not to miss spot in Ahmedabad tour, suggested to visit for delayed lunch
The rural ambience, the local food, fast and efficient service, the Kathputli show and the Rajasthani dances all remind one of Chokhi Dhani. However, Chokhi Dhani, both at Sonepat and the original one at Jaipur, are spread over larger areas and offer many more entertainment options, shows etc. However, space is efficiently used and walks created inside are lit up only by lanterns giving the feeling of being cut off from the city outside. The vegetarian food is uniformly good, and the waiters rush to do your bidding. The kulfi at the exit is a must-have. It is ideal for visiting only after sunset as it would lose most of its charm in daylight.
Definitely a must visit in Ahmedabad. This happens to be one of the most famous restaurants in Ahmedabad and rightly so. The entrance is lined with pictures of famous people dining here. Went here for dinner and had the standard Veg thaali. It's very reasonable and there is a lot of variety. The portions are good too and every single item on the thaali is amazing, especially the lassan chutney
Place is very clean and maintained as like old village style theme.service was gud. They need to train their staff as some of them were not able to communicate with customer. Overall gud experience. Must visit with family and guest SOMETIME not for many times
If you really want to experience the authentic Gujarat from its roots, do visit Vishala. It's famous as all celebrities come to experience this from far.from Prime minister, cricketers and actors. Also the food is simply good and authentic.
Food was fantastic. Need to redesign old part of restaurant which was not in use.
As per pricing it was bit high, but one time should go. One challenge faced was while taking a dinner staff rudely forces to standup due to waiting on some weekend times. Need to check this serious thing by mamagent for sure.
I loved the ambience. The food tastes okay. Payment is done in advance and then you can eat all you can. Also they have a great puppet show and a utensils museum worth visiting.
I font like food bcoz of potato and any other food is not good and The meal was not good as there was no taste. I was a guy with 3 of my friends but none of the three had fun eating.
Its old heritage restaurant but nowadays thay had limited food item with zero taste. Wasted 640 Rs per person. They only served paratha and aloo sabji with dessert jalebi. Jalebi was good. But rest was all very bad. Better toa eat in Dhaba than going here and wasting time and money.
This is heritage hotel. And around 50years old. But food is not worth the money you spend. No taste. No service. Just for unique feeling you can bring your loved ones. Good place for Love birds to talk and to spend some quality times.
To enjoy outdoor dining at its best, you and your companions can visit Vishalla. It is a restaurant that can be easily tagged as sophisticated. Since the year 1978, this outstanding bistro has been charming its customers by serving them the most delicious Gujarati and Indian platters of various kinds. You would love the way the very eatery serves the food on leaf plates. Parotha, Khichdi, Aloo Subji, Poori, Coconut Kothmir Tikki, SukiBhaji and Papad are some of the items of this restaurant. The menu of Vishalla includes many thirst quenching drinks like Aam Panna, Orange-Mosambi Mix, Butter milk and Lemon Juice. Desserts like Falooda, ice-cream, Rose lassi can also be enjoyed here. The staffs of this place ensure prompt services.
Food is worst and not worth. Spent 600/person but food was like 60 rs thali without any taste. Place is good but cannot spend 600/person to see some old collections.
Worst place to visit prices are too high compared to the service they provide. The waiters didnt know how to properly serve the food. The waiters were also very unhygienic. The place was also full of houseflies. And the food was the level of some road side dhaba worth 60 rupees
We had guests flying in from Delhi and we wanted them to have dinner at one of the best restaurants in Ahmedabad but today it became embarrassing for us
Today we experienced very bad quality of food here, the food was not fresh, every dish was smelling bad. And Vishala is famous for their authentic and freshly made food. But today what they served us was stale, maybe storage food. I never expected such bad quality of food from Vishala. Very very disappointed.
Well vishala hotel is based on old school gujrati culture and it's nice tho if you want to experience Gujarati culture and gujarati food then must visit here, in past a lot of celebrities have visited!
Today we have celebrated this @restaurantvishalla 72nd republic day with Vishalla Restaurant team and FEA team.
We got the opportunity to meet some amazing food entrepreneurs who are serving Ahmedabad with their amazing food. During the interaction, we got to know how they are running the show after the lockdown.
Every member had something to share! Taking about the place and food. This place is well known due to its heritage aesthetics. We would say it's a must-visit the place in Ahmedabad if you are coming for a trip! You will get delicious Gujarat food along served by love by Vishalla staff! N the unique dish which we have tried here was Ubadiyu (Matla Undhiyu) along with Dhokla, Jalebi, Sukhadi and Bhajiya. N yes our favourite pudhine wali chai
(P. S: The glasses for serving tea or coffee are made in Vishalla itself.) Save this place for your next visit!
I have visited more than once, but from last visit feel that it requires more professional approach in services. Items are served with a view to save cost. Costly items are not served frequently. Also better if about 15-20% light is increased. If want to keep name have to work professionally.
Low on staff. Service got compromised due to it. And rush duevto restricted night hours due to covid. We couldn't much enjoy the food which was not as good as it used to be.
The best place for traditional Gujarati food with authentic location settings. It feels like you are in a traditional Gujarati village. The ambience and the feel will be excellent.
Ambience - Good Food - Took lunch here. Ordered 2 platters, 1 was potato mutter and another one was Baingan Bhartha. None of them was good in taste. Price - Way more then expensive but not worthy. Staff behaviour - Very Poor. I asked for the time delay and they replied, It will be served as prepares but rudely.
Ambience reminds the village, but the scrap inside of the restaurant blurs your first time experience. As per the taste the food is too expensive yet it's veg.
Visited Vishala had heard a lot but experienced it yesterday. The entire theme is based on village and it clearly describes Indian heritage and it's culture of old civilisation. Some quick bytes: 1. People/ Staff very soft spoken 2. Meet and Greet wearing topi (cap) 3. Art and heritage museum 4. Char Pai (wooden beds) for visitors 5. Live Pottery 6. Live Puppet show 7. Live folk singing and traditional dance At 7pm they start the evening with Arti (traditional way of praising God & Dieties). Lemon and Ginger welcome drink as appetizer, followed by folk singing/ dancing and puppet show. The Huts (traditional Gazibos) are erected for settling and having dinner. Combination of Variety of Gujarati and Rajasthani food is served (good for health) with emotions poured making food more delicious. Must to try Sukhdi (Gujarati Cuisine), Makhan (Fresh butter), Undhiyu (mix vegetables) and Bajre ki Roti, followed by healthy Khichdi with desi ghee. It's not over yet, once done with dinner still some more delicacies awaits you like kesar pistachio and Gulab (rose) ice-cream and Dry dates as well as Pan which helps in digesting the food. A lot of breucrates, Hollywood/ Bollywood celebrities and business mens have visited this place making it as best place to visit in Ahmedabad on search engine. Had a fun filled evening with near and dear ones.
Good for day time. In night its good of you like dark atmosphere. Activities are missing, now no Rajasthani dances so only puppet show available as activities. Food was good but required more management while serving. If your guest are coming from out state or country then its good else its not near to the expectation
We came here with my parents for a family dinner, and it was all in all a delightful experience. There are lot of aspects, firstly the ambience, the village setting is beautiful and it is as close as it can get. Secondly the food, it is very authentic and tasty. The taste buds go for a wild ride. Third the service is great and lastly very important thing is everything here is very eco friendly. The usage of leaf plates, stone ware and using ashes for washing hands is a step in right direction. I didn't see any plastic being used which was very thoughtful, and the management should receive kudos for this. Lastly one thing I found could improve was more variety to food, the food spread I felt was little small. Rest Everything was a thumbs up, a must try if you are in Ahmedabad. Please like my review if you find it helpful.
Best decision I’ve ever taken so far for my kindergarten going daughter. Skills that cue math imbibes in such a small age kids is really in very innovative and to the point manner. Thanks a lot for everything!
Awesome place. Their food is something that you can get it in every Gujarati family or even you can get better than them but when it comes to their ambiance and kind of experience you get over there there's no replacement!
Do visit vishala or rajwadu to have authentic signature Gujarati food such as parta, handva, khandvi, Lila ki tikki or kachori, unduyu, fulwadi, idada, thepla, khichu and many more in the mesmerizing ambience of camp forest insights along with the aroma of well managed village tinge arrangements of seating and hospitality. If you get the opportunity do meet a humble owner Mr. Surendra Bhai Patel of vishala to know about the setup of Vishala Restaurant And his private museum one of his own biggest antique utensils museum in India by the name vechaar beside vishala.
Mediocre place with rude staff. The concept and design are wonderful and the utensil museum is very good. For this kudos to the founders of the trust. The staff at the token counter are a bit arrogant though. Visited recently for dinner. The restaurant was hosting someone's marriage it appeared (27th jan). When enquiring on token counter the staff said I would have to wait for 2 hours. "Pehle 200 guests khana khenge" were his words. As if i was the driver or cleaner in the baraat and was supposed to eat after the wedding party. Agashiye, Vintage villa and even gordhan thaal is a much much better place compared to this place.
The best ever place to get a village Rajasthan touch to your daily life. You will get a peace of mind from the harsh life of the city and the food at this place is like the best food you can ever have
Food was good but cannot be called authentic Gujarati food. It was mix of everything indian. Ambiance is ok. Though if maintained properly can be awsm. I didn't find the staff too friendly. No smile on thr faces.it gives a feeling that they were not happy for we visiting vishala.
The price is little higher side but you can visit once to experience the Ambience and the authentic taste of Gujarati food varities and the best thing I liked was to sit on the floor and have your meal and the place is kept neat and clean.
Theme based restaurant. Good hygiene. Tasty food and variety of dishes available. Big parking space available. Friendly, polite and professional staff members. They serve water and buttermilk in earth wares. Dishes and cups are made from leafs. Spoon made from soft wood. Folk songs and dances party. Puppet show. Pan parlor. Ice cream parlor. Wooden bed available. And yes such a good is costly too.
A mock village with multiple craftsman, temple, cow sheds, and such. Food being served the ethnic way. Leaf plates all veg. Typical gujarati fare. If you are carnivore, worth one visit only for general knowledge only.
The oldest restaurant in Ahmedabad, with period authentic Gujarati architectural village decor and authentic Gujarati food.worth a leisurely afternoon session visit.sit on charpoys and pass the timed away, tucking in vegetarian delights. The attendants too are costumed in Gujarati attire, giving the whole experience the authentic look and feel.
A nicely designed place but having very typically created ambience which may fall within choice n liking of select people only. Food test is average n food varieties served are again typical which only select people may like. I may not want to visit here soon.
Not a place for enjoyment. Go in dark garden, no one can see you better even you can't recognize. Sit on floor and start eating uncomfortablely. You have to eat fast according to service. No testy food. You can get better testy food in rajwadu, gordhanthal and aditi. Its waste of money and time.
One of the famous place in Ahmedabad, the hotel is grand, business meeting place, costliest for common people. Can have on your list to one of the most visited places, if you can afford then a must visiting the same.
Perfect ambience, perfect food, perfect. Service.everything was up to the mark. This is how it starts you first pay the money then enter the dance area here they will serve you welcome drink which was superb, then you go inside and choose your place where you want to seat and here you go. The food express starts they have almost more than 27 items for you to eat.when you complete your they will show you the place for ice cream and kharekh which is included in our unlimited thali. I have cut one star just because of kharekh and ice cream because the quality was not good.but still we enjoyed a lot, hope you all will enjoy to.
Nice place for traditional food. A nice kitchen museum is also attached to it. Though food is good not great. But worth of its price due to the ambience.
Food is average but charges are exorbitant. Don't waste you time & money to visit this place. It may have good reputation in past but quality in service is missing. Staff is rude and required training.
