Waghai Botanical Garden

Visiting the Waghai Botanical Garden was an enchanting experience. The lush greenery, diverse plant life, and serene atmosphere provided a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The well-maintained pathways made exploring easy and enjoyable. A must-visit for nature enthusiasts!

I recommend only for photography. Best place for pre wedding shoot. Nothing much good to visit.

Entry fee: 40 INR.

Amazing place in between the forest, especially for taking a break from work on weekends.

Botanical Garden is a large (24-hectare) garden with 1,400 varieties of plants from all over India. The amateur nature lover can marvel at different varieties of bamboo like the Chinese Bamboo, Golden Bamboo, Beer Bottle Bamboo, etc.and enjoy strolling along the beautiful walkways each lined with different species of tree. Visitors can also pick up cactus plants and enjoy a picnic at the picnic spot in the garden. Permission is required to enter. Drinking water and toilet facilities are available.

Story on Botanical Garden:

Halund was given the status of a mystical plant, worshipped by the native people of the forest of Dangs. This provoked everyone to conserve the indigenous species Vigna vexillata. It is our pleasure to mention that many research scholars from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda with equal support from the forest officials of WBC took this utmost essential initiative of conservation of Halund, given the fact that it is a highly nutritiously beneficial plant.

Where and how to reach?

Waghai is a town in the Dang District of the southern part of Gujarat state in India. And also Taluka of dang district. Waghai is about 32 km west of the district headquarters of Ahwa, and about 52 km north-west of the hill station of Saputara. Vansda, Chikhli and Bilimora are located westerly. It is linked by state highway to the town of Chikhli (where the road meets National highway 8), and by a narrow gauge to the town of Bilimora. Also with Saputara a NG passenger train named. Waghai Passenger link these towns of south Gujarat.

Best place to visit and enjoy with family. Evening is best time. Park has all facilities and taking required safely measures. Park is very well maintained nd clean. Children can enjoy train ride and other adventure sports too. Also it's cover d a huge space and one can spend 2-3 hours without getting bored

Children Toy Train is best if you have little kids with you. They will round two times in one Tickit.this garden will take 1.5 hrs if you are planning ahead to visit saputara.

Super green garden
Its so beautiful and everyone can enjoy here including kids.
A small nursery and library also here. Garden is having different type of swings, slides for kids. Toilets are neat and clean in this garden and its a paid service.
Entry tickets are rs 10 per head. Garden is too much variety of plants. Outside the garden there are few small shop which is having wooden toys and etable.

Vaghai Botanical Gardens is apx 30 kms from Ahwa, and, on way from people coming from Valsaad side.
Its attached to M. S. University, Vadodara for students of Botany.
It's one of the best Botanical Gardens of the country because of its very rich plantation, almost a part of forest.
There 8s a campsite as well for those who want to be with nature or pursue their studies.
There is a counter for selling the plantation medicines, honey and local handmade artifacts as well.
One must visit and spend time here with kids. They will love it.

Beautiful garden with lots of different flowers and plants with their names and special qualities. Please must visit this middle on saputara road and ticket is of 20rs.

As the name suggest.however some part was still under repairs of construction not sure. Lots of couple's in the park.lolz and lots of butterflies

The place is good. I visited in Aug 2021. I found some part of it well maintained while rest part not that well maintained. The place was clean and can be a good picnic spot if it's not raining. I visited in monsoon so it was green and beautiful, not sure about other seasons.

ડાંગનું આ ગાર્ડન લગભગ 24 હેક્ટરમાં ફેલાયેલો છે. તેમાં કુલ 11 ગાર્ડન છે. અહીં દુર્લભ ઔષધિઓનો ભંડાર છે. ગાર્ડનમાં ગ્રીન પ્લાન્ટ છે જે આકર્ષણનું કેન્દ્ર છે. અહીં જે વૃક્ષો છે તે હંમેશા ગ્રીન જ રહે છે. તમે અહીં આવ્યા બાદ ઠંડક અનુભવવાની સાથે ફ્રેશનેસ પણ અનુભવશો. વૃક્ષો જોઈને તમને જાણે અલગ જ કૂતુહલ અનુભવાશે. વૃક્ષોની સાથે સાથે તમે અહીં આરોગ્ય વન, બામ્બુ પ્લોટ, ટેક્ષોનોમી પ્લોટ, ડ્રાય ડેસીક્યુઅસ પ્લોટ, સ્કલ થોર્ન ફોરેસ્ટ, ડાંગ પ્લોટ, મોઇસ્ટ ડેસીક્યુઅસ પ્લોટ, ઇન્ટર પ્રિટેશન સેન્ટર અને ગ્રીન હાઉસને પણ માણી શકો છો.

Good place to spend time with family. They have some canopies of Orchids, Cactus, Bonsais but all were closed when I was there in July. Don’t know if they will open them in other months or not. They sell plants but it was closed too. There is a office there and it is beautifully built but no access to the people. Local products are being sold there like Ragi, Bamboo, medicinal items.

Good picnic spot with bow arrow and shooting gun games available inside. From academic point didn't find a lot of botanical information.

Must visit place. The garden contains thousands of varieties of different plants and trees. It has an entry fee of Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 10 for children. It's remain closed on Tuesdays so plan your trip on other days if you want to visit. Overall awesome place to visit.

When I went, everything inside the park was shut but the park seemed nice. Orchid house is still being constructed so would like to visit again once it's done. Cactus house could do better. Overall, was a good place.

A must visit place if for ppl interested in botany and plants and thier respective benefits. This place has a garden for kids to play and rifle shooting and archery for adults.

Needs maintenance as all types are plants are there.many plants were missing as we saw only nameplates & no plants. Those who are interested in nature, plants & ayurveda plants must visit.

2 km past Waghai, the nearest town, the garden and Bio-Diversity Conservation center have a wide range of native and exotic plant samples from which you can learn to identify plants, learn how they are used for food and medicine, and how much we depend on them. There is a nature education trail which leads you to and from Vansda Park. You might not find people to welcome and orient you, but there is plenty of written information about the plants posted around the center. The garden is open from 8am-6pm and entry is free.

A must visit place. Beautifully maintaining by Govt.of Gujarat. Entry fee was Rs. 10 only and car parking charge extra. Visit this place in monsoon, post monsoon and winter. Amazing place. There are also some popularpoints near by like saputara, some water falls etc.

Awesome place to get to know about mother nature and stay close and feel connected to it. Several types of plants and trees are available with there names so one can clearly identify them and read about them. Drinking water and playing area for kids is also available. It would take atleast 2-3 hours to roam in full garden. One must take a visit.

I really liked how they had various sub sections. It is worth a visit. However word of caution: be aware of people selling stuff outside main entrance, my friend phone got stolen.

Very poor service, 30 of us paid to go in and when we wanted to go to the toilet after one hour they were out of order.some of the areas were under construction/maintenance therefore not available to view.

As an garden, it's very beautiful.
But, toilets are pathetic.
When government is claiming so much about Swachh Bharat, toilets are horrible in this garden.
So many people visit this place. I had gone with my foreigner friend. And I was ashamed when she asked me to help her to Huntington toilet.
Doors are broken, water not coming, no lights, not clean at all.
I tried to raise this issue with staff over there, they just laughed at me and said it will be like this only.
Ashamed.

People who travel in bulk or big group in privet bus are used to take halt over here.
Otherwise nothing to see inside, it just like covered forest area, nothing in manage form.
