Alt Life - Manali

Rooms: As per the pics they have put. But not recommended if you are a non-smoker.

Dorms: No room service. No everyday cleaning. No balcony. A small storage cupboard with key is given. No privacy as they don't give the room key even if all the roomates are friends and booked together. While we were out, someone used our bathroom and made it dirty.

Food: The food was good, though little on the expensive side.

Service: We had problems with the bathroom toilet seat cover, which was broken. They never fixed it. Went behind them for a few days and they taped it on the last day.

Working area is not very quiet as the kitchen is next to it, and always loud, full of flies. You can also see dogs in there.

Been trying to book and also communicate the hotel still no proper communication.seems like they doesn’t want any customers.

LOCATION: its serene with a very few businesses and hotels around. Way to reach here is cumbersome since it is inside old manali and almost 2 kms inside from highway. However, if one wants to do old manali sightseeing by foot, it is almost 1 kms from most attractions. The only approach road to this place from highway was blocked for road construction. The other way is 4 kms long passing the river over an old bridge. Do check with hotel for approach road feasibility if you are having a vehicle and luggage. For single light travellers, it is walking distance and not a problem.
Rooms: we had booked room no 207 a four bedded dorm. It was below par. The room is just cleaned by dusting and moping visible areas. Areas behind the curtains, on the walls, below beds etc are entirely dusty. The washroom doesnt have exhaust fan. There were atleast 50 flies on bathroom window waiting for us after checkin. The washbasin had a huge crack in the middle. There is no table/chair in the room other than bed. There is just an old 4 compartment cupboard which is almost about to collapse, where you can lock the luggage. One of the compartment door keys was missing. Room keys arent available and when contacted, the hotel cudnt find it. Main door is supposed to be kept unlocked. All the light fittings are haphazardly fitted with exposed wiring. Absolutely shambles for a room.
SERVICE: check in and out service was perfect. Breakfast service was understaffed and very delayed.
FOOD: The breakfast spread was adequate but since the hotel was probably understaffed, the refills were non existant. For example cornflakes was present but no hot milk. Almost 60% of items were out and refills had to be requested and waiting was almost 10-15 mins on an average.

Not at all a good option for couple/family. One can find way better options for the same tariff. The person on the reception is rude, speaks English but lacks professionalism. I asked him to check something and he laughed it out before responding. Food was fine, serving folks were good but you'll find very limited menu for breakfast buffet. Wifi was down throughout our stay, hardly got internet when connected. Room was very basic, won't suggest for a couple/family. View was okay because the hotel is situated on the uphill from Manali Club and Beas flows along so every infrastructure on that road will get that view, but like room the balcony was also a turn down. At my previous hotel, heater and warm mattress was complimentary but here they were charging 500 bucks for heater, even during the time of snowfall. One may stay here for WFH, but for leisure try to skip it. You'll find way better hotel at same or even less price with better amenities, bigger rooms, better service, better staff, better view and even better experience.

It's very comfortable for bachelors.and wfm person's.

The hotel is very poor, services are very worst, rooms are not good as per your expectations, OYO rooms will be far better than this. Food rates are very high & Food taste is not so good, when you visit MANALI please don't think about this Hotel.

Staff behaviour and food is not good specially a person named rohit.and i dont recommend you to stay here.very far from mall road and food is not good as compared to alt dharamkot.my honest reviews

Food is so expensive, not worth. Egg curry is just only oil and egg, worst food I ever had in my life. Road side fast food is more better than this.

Clean and Tidy Rooms, Comfy Bed, Awesome Snow Caped Mountain View, Great Food, Everything is accessible nearby. Last but not least staff was very helpful and kind.

I recently stayed at Alt Life Manali and had an amazing experience. The location is breathtaking, nestled in the beautiful Himalayan mountains with stunning views of the valley. Alt Manali is at a serene location in Old Manali (800 metres away from the Old Manali bridge) with river on one side and snow-capped mountains on the other. With spacious dorms, cozy co-working spaces, extra-delicious food and friendly hosts, Alt never fails to impress you:)

After staying there for 3 nights, I found its a great place to stay for youth/couples/bachelors. View from room is excellent, Food is best, coffee was awesome. But deducting 1 star as this place is understaff. I found only 1 guy “Ravi” is doing all the work from reception to restaurant to room service.

Great experience. The dorms are nice, bigger than most of the other hostels in the area. Location is perfect, overlooking the river and mountains, 5 minutes away from the riverside, 15 minutes away from the old Manali market and cafes. Great space to work with good internet connection. Food at cafe is good as well. Loved the vibe here, staff as well as people I met at the hostel.

It was wonderful experience with alt life.the view from the balcony was very beautiful. All the staff were awesome and very helpful.specially host karan who was very warm and helpful all the time. We feel like a home over there.thanks alt life and thanks karan. Highly recommended this place.

This is in regards to upcoming reservations 24-27 May 2022, no where these people are contactable. I booked on their website but they are not reachable on any number, I seriously doubt they will honor reservations

This is a really great place to stay. I came with a group of 11 for a workation for 6 days. The environment was very comfortable to work in with fast wifi and great seating areas. We got to spend holi here and there was a really nice setup with music so we could dance and play. The beds are very cozy and warm perfect for the cold weather. They even had a live music session where a shimla band played, it was very vibey. I even got the chance to go on stage and sing myself, which was a very memorable experience. The manager Karan is very hospitable and friendly and overall a very fun person.
The experience overall was amazing and i would definitely recommend this stay.

One must visit this place for sure when in Manali for co-work as well as for stay! Room with a view, Kind hospitality, good environment, good food! It just feels like home even when away from home️ Stayed for almost 2 weeks! Made craxy memories️ Great host and Manager! Will definitely revisit

Had an amazing experience at Alt Life Cafe! The location is brilliant, had a nice tranquil stay. The food was good and service was prompt, the Manager Karan was particular helfpul particularlly in providing recommendation in and around the place. If you are in planning a trip to Old Manali do book your stay here.

Don't book this if you're coming here because they claim that they have a co-working space.no proper wifi is available, they claim that it's working fine, but it doesn't. Internet is so bad that I had to switch to my mobile data to write this comment:/

I had a very comfortable stay here at Alt life Manali. Our property manager Karan was very warm and welcoming. He was really helpful in catering to all our needs and requirements. I was solo on this trip and he made sure to book a cab for me to Sissu village where in the driver was very polite and friendly. So overall, I had a great experience with them.:)

Terrible service; Unprofessional and unethical staff / management

One of our worst customer service experiences ever. The hotel refused to refund our money during the free cancellation period. After following up with them for over a month through direct calls, emails, and booking.com, we couldn't get our money back. The worst part was their behaviour and arrogance during this period. In the end, the booking.com team paid us back and started a strong action against them. We booked this place based on the previous reviews on different sites, but as it seems, things have just deteriorated over the years and they are just reaping the benefits of their initial success. I do acknowledge that we didn't have a full direct experience at the property, but dealing with them through this ordeal gave us a fair understanding where they stand.
