It is not often that a homestay experience leaves a great warmth in the heart, a deep sense of belonging. Our three-day stay at Betal Homestays was one of those rare experiences.

In these commercial, formal, narrow business minded times, it was wonderfully refreshing to enjoy such hosting.

Anil ji, his family and staff are not your everyday hosts. They genuinely love serving the guests. The stay itself in the wonderfully wood-built homea is cosy and super comfortable. The rooms, beds, bathrooms, and all other subsidary arrangements were beyond expectations.

The food was amazing, to say the least. It was just like staying at a dear relative's place and getting pampered.

The Narkanda location of the homestay is heavenly, deeply quiet and full of peace, with trees and endless trails to trek all all under the cosy shade of trees, far from crowded, touristy hubs like Shimla. Prefect place to recharge one's batteries and more.

There were no second thoughts, as we took the bike ride from Chandigarh to Chitkul and back to stay at Betal Homestay, as a lovely transit point. So we stayed for a day and half here on our way to Chitkul and then again on the way back to Chandigarh.

Great stay for anyone wanting to enjoy unfiltered hospitality in the Himalayas. Great for couples, solo travelers and buddy-travelers too.

Anilji also helped us with getting accomdation at Chandigarh to stay, making the overnight stay before catching a early morning train, a stress-free experience.

He also recommended couple of restaurants and took us around one evening to couple of nearby places, like a meditation cave and a old British-era church, wonderful places usually missed in place of popular destinations. That is the kind of exclusive hospitality we received. It was like a close friend was serving us.

Moreover, he also provided us with organic pure ghee to carry home on request.

So overall, a rare, blessed experience at Betal Homestay. I rarely do reviews, but the generiosity had led me to do this detailed one.

Don't miss staying at Betal Homestay. Truly an experience of an lifetime and more, and I don't say that often.

Well furnished, all wooden interiors, nice attendant service. Home made food to your liking. Loved staying there. Cool peaceful place

Good home to stay.but the host ashish and his mother make the experience more than worst.thy wud offer you complentary breakfast but Its never complentary and do check the full bill before paying.

We had a 2 night stay and cannot emphasize how great our experience was:
1. Accomodation: stayed in Maharaja and Shahjadi rooms which were very tastefully designed and were provided with clean sheets/blankets. Then view is ok but comfort is parallel to a 5 star hotel
2. Food: Fairly priced menu with almost all dishes prepared well- key highlight is pahadi food which is absolutely lip smacking
3. Hospitality: Alisha and Anil uncle are extremely warm and welcoming. They provided utmost support and made all efforts to ensure our stay is enjoyable
4. Safety: The place can be reached via decent road, broad enough for MPVs as well. A big thanks to Anil uncle who actually helped us get out of a difficult situation during snowfall.

Very highly recommended, ideal if you’re looking for an off beat place with great comfort, food and hospitality!

It was a pleasure staying at this new property, which is 15 min drive from Narkanda. Bethal is a nice place with excellent food and service.
Owners are very nice people and made us very comfortable. Offered bonfire, drinks and ultimate delicious dinner for us.
Try to stay at queen suite room. Its really beautiful.

Is there a worst rating than one star? Really tuff to stay with family as they would empower you with there local connects of police and would threaten you with diverse consequences

Home and view is good but as the evening goes down the host specially Ashish roy turns into a monster.with no idea of family or children’s and would threaten every morning to check out.worst part is the abuses he use irrespective of ladies or children’s.personally would never recommend to go there

Awsm.mesmerising.stay at Bethal Homestay.in the lap of the nature It has the whisperings of the birds which make your morning a heaven.the landlords Mrs. Anjali &Anil Sir are very welcoming.they will always greet you with a smile and will always take care that theit guests are comfortable in all aspects.be it food, stay, cleaniliness.stay is really awesome.don't waste Munna Bhaiz Bar B Que in their lawn.cleanliness, washrooms, rooms are really well kept.a must visit place guys!

Amazing and well maintained rooms with all amenities, Maharani suite is the best.

Bethal Homestay is a gem hidden in Kotgarh!
We stayed there for two days and both were amazing. Beautiful View for the rooms as well as from the surroundings. Service given was excellent all available at a single call! Best view was from Shehzaade room! Best for star gazing at night! The complementary morning breakfast always made you feel great for the whole day. Will surely visit again!

Wonderful experience. This is a warm cozy place.the rooms were very well maintained. The maharani suite had brilliant views.the food was delicious and breakfast was also wholesome.
