Bhandari Homestay

This property was on my radar since the pre-covid era, when I finally visited it, it was absolutely worth the wait!

What you get - The sweetest and warmest Kinnauri family that have opened up their homes for us to experience their culture and way of living. Delicious home cooked food - Aunty made the local dish Siddu for me to try. Most of the food is home grown and is completely organic. Ajay makes the best coffee you can ask for!
They grow a variety of apples, other fruits and vegetables - interesting to learn about everything they try in their farm.
Their home is right next to the Baspa river, which makes your stay therapeutic. You can also hike to nearby villages - Sangla and Batseri. Ajay is kind enough to take out time from his busy schedule and show around.

What you dont get - If you prefer staying indoors with TV and are looking for a property where you don’t have to walk much, then this isn’t the place for you.

This place allows a complete culture immersion, where you can literally forget the outside world and soak in the beauty of nature.
My stay was for 2 days but I extended it by a few more days and still couldn’t get enough!

Bhandary homstay is one of the best famly running homstay in baspa valley if you want to feel the real homstay or spend quality time like home you must visit bhandary homstay

Nice family and their service and food was good. Stay will be near to the river bank. During snowfall time the view and ambience will be good.

For those who want to escape from the crowd of chitkul, it's a perfect stay. The river nearby is a cherry on the top. Lovely people and one of the best stays we ever had!

One of the best places to stay in Sangla! The people here are so welcoming and the food is great too! Highly recommend this place!

Excellent location. The place is very close to Baspa river and so many places to walk and explore nearby. Abhay was available on phone/whatsapp to answer our questions. Ajay cooks delicious dishes. The chai is to die for, the taste was lingering in my mouth long after I left.

Pros:
1. Excellent location
2. Yummy food
3. Great chai (forgot to ask how they make it, it was excellent)
4. Very affordable
5. Ajay was very helpful with our baggage

Cons:
1. I knew from message exchanges that the place is for "nature lovers", didn't know the rooms didn't have attached washroom.
2. Hot water is available only during early hours (till 7 or 8)

Overall, we had a good time. If there was one suggestion we could make, it would be to have at least one room with attached bathroom for families.

Only one word I can use for that property is "WOW".

I'll recommend everyone to stay with this sweet family, and experience a great stay midst silent part of the mountain, and rejuvenate themselves with beautiful views of mountains all around.
