It is definitely a must visit stay! The ambience, the owner, the hospitality and the best was GAJJAR KA HALWA, in the time of winters the only thing we want is bonfire and gajjar ka halwa: p. I love how naresh ji came by himself to recieve us from parking to our rooms! He is a very generous guy, always up to resolve our problems. Overall it was an amazing stay w an amazing view and people!

The homestay was very welcoming. The view from the room is amazing. You can see the riverside and enjoy sipping tea and have great food. The food is literally the best I have had at any of the homestays (by the chef Kamlesh bhai). Great experience.

We saw the Geminid meteor shower from here, and it was breathtaking. The caretakers are very accommodating and the food was delicious. It might be a bit expensive, but worth the money if you are in large groups. We had bonfires everyday, went out for walks late in the night, played music and got intoxicated often. There's a lack of cafés in the area, but plenty waterfalls and hikes to spend 3-4 days here. There are heaters, geysers and wifi.

Its a family-run homestay. Excellent hospitality by everyone. Naresh, Kamlesh and Mohan all three are nice persons and always available for any help.

We stayed here for 15 days, this place is just wonderful, loved our stay with beautiful river view. Nature lovers will just love this place. Kamlesh ji serves yummy tasty fresh food, also barbeque is available here. There food service n room service is amazing. Also people over here are generous n homely. We just feel like visiting again. We stayed at thus beautiful property for 4 nights in October 2021. Built amidst the serene and calm surroundings of Tirthan Valley, Brown Dipper is run by 2 brothers. It has 3 rooms on the first floor and 2 rooms on the ground floor. The first floor rooms have an exceptional view of the the valley along with the river. The balcony right in front of the room is perfect for lengthy chats with friends and family while enjoying the stunning views of the valley. The rooms are spacious and include all the necessary equipment to make your stay comfortable. The big plus is the bathroom- its really clean, spacious and comes with 24/7 running water- hit and cold. But besides the property, what makes this place different than the rest is the exceptional hospitality. Naresh is more than willing to go out of his way to suggest good places to visit, arrange for cabs on short notice, cook sumptuous meals and offer tea/coffee/snacks/maggi even at odd hours. I would be remiss if I dont mention the excellent dining room connected with the kitchen where Naresh serves hot rotis while you enjoy the extremely tasty home cooked meals. The mix daal, raita, bhindi, poha, breakfast are all exceptionally cooked. I would highly recommend this home stay to people looking to have a calm, peaceful and homely stay in Tirthan

An amazing stay and experience with Brown dipper. The property is located across the river where you can reach via a trolley, that's a welcoming adventure experience. The place is so beautiful and well maintained, it feels just like home. The hosts Naresh Bhai & Kamlesh bhai are so friendly and helpful, they made us just feel at home and were always kind and helpful. The views from every corner of this stay are beautiful, the river constantly flowing next to the house, mountains all around and best sunset views from the valley. The best part is the food that you will enjoy, it is just the homemade food that you need when you are out on a vacation. Totally a great place to stay for family as well as a group of friends. Also a nice choice to work from Mountains with good internet connection for Airtel, full 4G network. You can also have fishing lessons with Naresh Bhai and you can get lucky to catch a few of them.

This is probably one of the best places for a staycation at Tirthan valley. We stayed here for 6 days and had a very comfortable work from mountain experience. The place gets very good Airtel 4G network. The place is across a water stream, gets plenty of sun throughout the day, rooms are clean, washrooms are clean and modern, hot water kettle is available, Also weights in case you are planning to workout. We ate all our meals here, food is simple and tasty. Both veg and non veg food is served. Also we could get kitchen access whenever we wanted to cook for ourselves. Overall great experience.

Amazing homestay run by two brothers. You will feel just like home. All your needs will be thoroughly taken care of. If possible, get the first floor room from which the view is amazing. I stayed there for a week and had the best time. Kamlesh bhaiyya cooked great food every day! Plus the network (Jio) there is great, so you can easily work.

It was the best homestay near Tirthan, I must say, specially for the people who love PEACE.
Everything was perfect, stay, staff, food, all amazing. Was there for 1 week, and could have stayed more for a month as well. Best for WFH guys as well, good network and other related stuff. Also the valley has many gems to visit. You could never get bored at this place.

If you’re looking for a stay in mountain but want to avoid the road most taken, then Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh and specially the Brown Dipper House is the best pick for you. After doing a lot of research, I booked this place for fifteen days. Stayed with My daughter. It’s very safe and secured and people are nice.

This place is blessed with a wealth of nature’s treasures and is ideal for lot of activities like hiking, trekking, angling and other adventure activities. You also have an option of doing absolutely nothing as you relax among the pine trees in the valley.

Brown Dipper House is located in the ecozone of the Great Himalayan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The place is untouched and free from tourists. In the evening we enjoy the walk alongside the Tirthan river, amidst the mild forest… just listening to the surround sound of nature. It’s a surreal atmosphere!

The room was beautiful with an outstanding view of river and mountains. The food was simple yet delicious. The hosts Nareshji and Kamleshji tried their level best to meet all our requirements. The grilled trout prepared by Nareshji was a delicacy. We enjoyed the river crossing in the trolley!

Perfect place to have a good time next to river. The hospitality is excellent, Mr. Naresh n all others are quite humble. To reach the property one need to cross the river through trolley which makes it more adventurous n charming. The home made food was yummy n delicious. The rooms are neat n tidy including spacious washrooms with all amenities and facilities. Beautiful views of Mountains nd Tirthan River from rooms n balcony. Although I could stay for only 2 nights in this amazing place but it was a very memorable experience! Amazing view, very clean and comfortable rooms, great food and very kind hosts! Plus you have the chance of sitting in a trolley to reach here which is fun too! In all a very good experience and would like to visit again for a longer duration!

It is best place to stay in teerthan valley. It is like a home in the nature's lap. Close to teerthan river, and river water was very calm in July also (before monsoon arrival). And also in between high peaks, adjacent to river, with a homely stay, home cooked food.what else we need for a vacation. Staff was sweet.just like home, they provided us everything we needed. Yes some spiders, housebeea dogs were there.but n hilly area, it is normal near river banks

* Location of the Brown Dipper House is really admirable and the house is very neat and clean including room and washroom (washroom is very spacious). View from the balcony is attractive and peaceful. Tirthan River adds valuable experience to the stay.

* Food was delicious and commendable, its like you are eating at home. Hats off to the cook - Kamlesh.

* People nearby the house are very sweet and helpful if you're looking to trek or anything to know about place - you can ask them about their history.

* There are various types of fruit trees around the house, you can steal and eat - ahaan that's a different kind of experience you will have.

* Crossing the river by trolley was a good experience to the journey.

* Mr Naresh (Owner) is very polite and helpful.

At last I would say the food was great, You must go and try all these things.

Oh The Brown Dipper House!
Continuously working from home, waking up doing the same routines and then going to bed. This has been my (and everyone’s) life for such a long time in this Covid era. Then suddenly I, coaxed by my wife, decided to change all this and somehow stumbled upon the “Work from Mountains” website and after discussing with them chose Brown Dipper House as my abode for 1 week. I did not do much research but set out with my twins and brother-in-law. I reached there in the evening and was greeted by Naresh and Bittu.
The first surprise was crossing the river over a rope, which my kids simply loved and made me do for the rest of my stay over and over again. A beautiful and loud Tirthan river greeted us and the Brown Dipper House was so enchanting that all of us just fell in love with the place. It was as simple and modest as it can be and at the same time very comforting. Our room was decent size with a nice bathroom attached to it where water gushed with great pressure most of the time. Food cooked by Kamlesh was so simple and edible that I could eat it for a few months and not get bored. My whole family loved the food. Kamlesh has something in his cooking. He made very simple food- actually whatever vegetarian food we asked for with Rice, Roti, Salad, and curd. We are vegetarians so he cooked veg food for us, but I think he cooks trout and other non-veg food, if you like. My kids found the food so good that they asked me to make my cook at home contact him and ask him how he can improve. My cook at home is quite good actually.
We used to sit on the balcony for hours, I worked continuously from there for hours and when I felt like taking a break, I took a dip in river…kids were there a lot of the time. Water was cold and crystal clear and the whole scenery was so beautiful. Kids said the photos we got there are actually the best photos we have taken till now…. Very beautiful. The Internet was good, I could easily do my video cons/calls. But one important thing that we realized only after reaching there is that Vodafone does not work there at all. We were cut off from the world that way, luckily my Son had Jio connection so we could manage but still could not do a lot of things that needed our phone number working. Personally I enjoyed this cut off from the world, but it was troubling at times, like when we needed to do financial transactions etc.
Every morning and evening we took a walk, sometimes in the daytime too. Strolling in the mountains, doing nothing and just walking and doing nothing…how much I miss those walks. Actually, I would love to go back for a longer stay and just get lost in the Tirthan Valley…Bohut majaa aayaa sahi mey.
Naresh is a GREAT host…like we say…Badhiya banda hai. He is so simple and yet he will arrange anything for you. He took such good care of us that now we exchange messages and he is on my Facebook too. He also took us camping for a night to Serolsar lake. It was a nice low to middle level track to a simple and beautiful lake. We had an overnight camp there and it was so refreshing. He took such good care of us and we actually did not even have to ask for anything. It was my kids’ first camping experience outside the school and they simply enjoyed it. Right from food to tent to providing enough lighting in the jungle, he took care of everything to my kids’ total satisfaction.
During our stay, Naresh arranged fresh cow milk for us directly from the vendor and more milk was available with him whenever we needed it. I am sure he would have made much more money by not doing so but he himself gave this idea. The cost of 1 litre was actually equal to 1 glass of milk. Really appreciated this, such small simple gestures are so much important when you develop a trust and relationship with the host. Little things make a lot of difference.
A Homestay should be a Home away from Home and the Brown Dipper House was quite impressive in this regard. Made me believe more in Homestay than Hotel

A beautiful home in a beautiful location with even better hosts.
This 5 bedroom cottage, overlooking the Tirthan River, provdyes for an excellent place for families and solo travellers included to just rewind, relax and get their creative juices flowing and spending time with fellow travellers.
The hosts Naresh and Kamlesh make it a point that anyone who comes here not only has amazing food but also an amazing experience.
PS - The only way to reach this place is by crossing the river via a hand pulled rope trolley. It just adds on to the experience.

Three of us booked two rooms. The rooms are spacious with a warm vibe. View of the river and valley from the big window in one room is amazing. They got all the basic amenities - kettle, geyser etc. Bathroom is surprisingly spacious. The in-house food is a delicious home cooked meal. Thr entrance is via a trolley/pulley which is totally safe yet new and adventurous. It's quiet and peaceful around and hosts are courteous and friendly. Totally recommended for leisure as well as work.

We stayed at this place in a group of other 5 people for 2 weeks. Rooms are very nice and clean. Proper beddings and quilts were provided. It is handled by 2 brothers Naresh and Kamlesh.
Naresh will help you in outside works like getting stuff from market, arranging tours, cabs etc.
Kamlesh is the one who handles kitchen, he is a great cook and can cook anything as per your choice and taste buds.
They also provided barbeque and bonfire on demand at decent rates.

The place is just amazing. If you wish to have the RAW nature experience this is the place.
There are lot of scenic spots near the house and you can get all the relaxation you need.
The river bed is like 10-20 meters away and you will have to sit in a cable car to reach the house that hardly 15-20 meters and the experience is amazing.
Mr. Naresh the owner is the best, he will take care of all your needs and you can eat whatever you want.
The food is just amazing kudos the chef Kamlesh.
The rooms are well maintained and clean.
If you wish to visit nearby places like Choi Waterfall or Jalori Pass just contact Naresh ji and he will make all the arrangements.
The pricing is also amazing and you will want to visit the place again and again.

I just can't imagine that something like this cottage we will found at thirthan vally. I bet you that nothing is better then this cottage. Like all departments is get full Marks for their services.

This was my first time in the Himalayas. I was looking for a peaceful home stay in the mountains with good networks and places around to hike to after work. A recommendation from a close friend brought me to Brown Dipper House nestled cozily by the Tirthan river in the great Himalayan National park.

There’s just one description for this place: a cozy beautiful home away from home.

About the owners: Naresh Ji and Kamlesh Ji the two brothers who run this stay took such good care of us. From delicious homemade food to hot drinking water all day to even arranging a barbecue for us one beautiful evening, they made our stay very cosy and homely.

About the home stay: we were four friends and had booked two rooms upstairs. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with big rooms and a verandah to work laze around in. This property is right by the river and hence there’s a breathtaking view every side you look. Everyday was a fun adventure in getting to and from the house because you have to use a zip line trolley to cross the river. It’s completely safe and a new experience.

Things to do around: the valley is so beautiful and with very few tourists so you can just walk around and discover beautiful views. There is a trout farm right next door if you want to see how these popular tasty fish are bred in the mountains. Jibhi another beautiful valley is just an hr away by public transport. You can also visit Jalori pass for a breathtaking view of the snow line and the dhauladhar range.

The rooms were nice. The room with the big window had a nice view of the valley. The washrooms were clean and spacious. The food was delicious home cooked style. The host were courteous. You could learn fishing and go on a trek with the help of the host. The best part was the entrance to the homestay via a trolley, makes you feel like a child.

It was a lovely homely stay with people felt like family. The place is located at such a serene place and the services only add to the beauty of the place. Food was mind blowingly delicious, i even asked for recipes from Kamlesh Bhaiya (the chef). They even helped us with transports for various places and came with us for brilliant guide support.
I am looking forward to visit again in summers with family for the awesome experience.
