The place is small, with an overpriced menu. Additionally, despite the GST, they charge service tax during live events and won't remove the service charges regardless of my request which is illegal. I offered to pay the service charges as a tip directly to the performers or waiter, but they refused. Even for a single 200ml Coke cold Drink, they charge 170 rupees if opened by mistake. The food is average, and upon entering, there's hardly a difference between this cafe and a regular congested roadside one, except for the live music. I strongly advise against going here if you want to save your hard-earned money. For great food, head to Chopsticks Restaurant below this place; they have amazing cuisine.cafe charges you with a hefty amount of service charge which is mandatory and they charge it for providing live music. It is not mentioned anywhere by the government but they still charge the customer for it which is a typical nuisance.
Gst + service tax + food pricing is tooo high but overall Quality of service and food is Worse than a dhaba.

The live music is so good the place is so soothing and food was delicious. A nice place to visit

My hotel stay is cheaper than the price of pizza. Service tax is mandatory although there is no live music, service is not great and food is over priced. Not recommended.

I got a chicken burger and it was fabulous!

No alcohol - might be a bummer for some people but it maintains a great vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

One of the worst experience in Manali. Pathetic food taste. Ambiance and Live Music was good except for that it is a money and time wasting experience which spoiled my complete evening.

All the reviews are given by the hotel staff itself. They beg you to give an excellent review and that’s why it is overhyped.

Apparently this place doesn’t charge any cover charges or something but ask you to order minimum 4 dish in one go if you’re 4 people, and they don’t even tell you at entry that you cannot order twice, neither for the mandatory 4 items.
It’s so funny that you can order just once in a cafe, and the owners says this is the meaning of ‘Dine in’!

Worst experience in Manali! Literally have so many good places around, please avoid this place especially if you’re with your family!

Found the ambience of Cafe 1986 the bestest in Manali. The band was just the most amazing band ever experienced at Cafe 1986. Shank the Band made us groove the most.

It was a nice place with excellent environment, food was delicious, same goes for service #Must_visit

Last night I visit in cafe 1986 sheesha were amazing g and services all good staff to friendly and I enjoy live music free of cost must visit there

This cafe is situated on the Mall road and easy to access for anyone who is busy shopping on the streets.

We ordered a Mocha, Mashed Potatoes & Garlic Bread. The coffee was amazing, it was bit sweet than expected but overall the coffee was good.

Mashed potatoes were not really mashed properly. It was not creamy at all and lacked taste. Garlic bread was not on the menu so they added cheese on top of the garlic toast and served (charged for extra cheese). Garlic bread were not good either. They were crunchy with less cheese and lacked the taste overall.

Ambiance is decent, there was no live music when I was at the cafe as I visited it in the afternoon.

Overall, the rating is purely based on the food. For the coffee, I would rate 4.

This cafe has the rudest owners and staff ever! They possess 0 (zero) knowledge in the area of *customer service/satisfaction* (which btw is crucial for running a business, especially a cafe). They tortured u for asking them to give us a smok-able sheesha, cause the one they had provided us with had burnt flavour in it. After we were done with our meal (which was just average, not matching the high prices), they offered to replace the hookah at last but, told us that we’d get only another 15 minute in their cafe.what kind of customer service are you running your business on, I don’t understand! Reading other reviews, I can clearly see that they have been treating their customers as if they are doing them a favour.

It was splendid ambiance and food there#staaf and the atmosphere, live music, crockery and everything in the cafe very very beautiful so i tell everyone to dont missed the chance to visit in cafe 1986 when you are in the manali

Food is okish but very expensive. Never try thier garlic bread. Its just four pieces of dry bread without any topping. Service is too long. Once you order food wait time so long that your mood gets off. Ambience is good as they have live music.
