Beautiful place. Ancient buildings made of "kath-kuni" structure having history emblemed in every inches of it. Situated at an elevation that connected with stone steps but not so easy to access with weak legs. Surrounded with apple orchards and snow clad mountain peaks.

चण्डिका देवी कोठी कल्पा-कोठी गांव रिकांग-पिओ और कल्पा के मध्य बसा है। मंदिर का मुख्य आकर्षण केंद्र देवी का विशाल रथ है। यह रथ मंदिर के भीतर रखा रहता है। इस पर माता की सोने की प्रतिमाएं सुसज्जित रहती हैं। चण्डिका देवी का दूसरा नाम शुवांग चण्डिका भी है। चण्डिका किन्नौर की शक्तिशाली और धनी देवी है। धारणा है कि यह देवी बाणासुर के अट्ठारह पुत्र-पुत्रियों में से एक है। बाणासुर ने हिरमा राक्षसी से विवाह किया था।
जिससे ये पुत्र-पुत्रियों उत्पन हुए थे। बाद में इन पुत्र-पुत्रियों ने किन्नर प्रदेश को आपस में बांट दिया था। देवी चण्डिका ने अपने पराक्रम से इस क्षेत्र में अपना प्रभाव जमा था।कोठी किन्नौर का सबसे प्राचीन गांव है। स्थानीय लोग इसे कोष्ठम्पी के नाम से ही जानते हैं। 2104 मीटर से 2,905 मीटर की ऊंचाई वाली ढलानों के मध्य बसा यह पिओ बाजार से लगभग डेढ़ किलोमीटर ऊपर स्थित है।
कोठी सम्पूर्ण किन्नौर में देवी चण्डिका के कारण प्रसिद्ध माना जाता है। चण्डिका के मन्दिर के दरवाजे के दोनों तरफ लघु कक्षों में प्रतिमाएं हैं। दाईं तरफ सूर्य की प्रतिमा है और किन्नर-कैलाश बिलकुल सामने हैं। जब सूर्य उदय होता है तो पहली किरण इस प्रतिमा पर पड़ती है। मन्दिर सतलुज घाटीय शैली का मिश्रित रूप और कला का सजीव उदाहरण है। तल से शिखर तक लकड़ी पर सुन्दर नक्काशी की गई है जिसे रंगों से सजाया गया है। शिखर पर बड़ा गुम्बंद है।
दो मंजिले इस मंदिर के गर्भभाग में देवी चण्डिका का विशाल रथांग को सजाते समय उस पर लगाया जाता है। किन्नौर में इसे सर्वाधिक शक्तिशाली और सम्पन्न देवी माना जाता है। सालाना-पूजा देवी का प्रमुख तयौहार है। इस पूजा का दिन देवी का ग्रोकच देवी शक्ति से तय करता है। कभी यह साल में दो बार भी तय हो जाता है। इस दिन देवी की पूजा होती है। देवी को बकरे की बलियां देते हैं। देवी को प्रसन्न किया जाता है ताकि वह लोगों के जान-माल की रक्षा करे।

Located in a very peaceful and beautiful village, at a walkable distance from Reckong Peo. Definitely worth a visit if in Reckong Peo.

A place full of positive energy and calmness.
Photography is not allowed in the temple premises. Mata Chandika is Goddess Durga and is believed to be very powerful among the Gods of Kinnaur. Devi Chandika is the Goddess of seven villages and came here on the request of villagers to kill the devil's in this area. The institution of Devi and Devta is very powerful in preventing crime as well as protection of environment.

Beautiful historical temple. Deep inside narrow roads. Road side parking. We visited early morning to skip rush and did helped. When we were leaving back people were unable to find parking.

This temple is thought to have been built before or around the pandavas and is located in a community with the oldest rocks. There are many people who have had similar experiences as Mata, who resides in the temple. This location contains a pond with natural springs supplying the water and fish in the pond, just as other Swayambhu Chandika Temples. Temple devoted to the goddess Chandika, more specifically known as Shuwang Chandika, has helped the village of Kothi become well-known throughout the district. The locals respect the goddess much and regard her as one of the most powerful deities.

A very religious place to visit in Reckong Peo.
I have visited here for the first time and feel very good. The temple have a tradition of wearing the local cap of the people of Kinnaur which is available for all at no cost.
I liked the tradition of visiting the temple with a cap which is the symbol of the people of Kinnaur. I loved the cap and feel too good for visiting this religious place.
