We had stopped here for a Maggi break on October 7,2022 while travelling from Kaza to Keylong via Chandra Taal. We were very tired and hungry, but at 4: 30 pm the only thing available there was Maggi. Chacha has a great sense of humour. In this Dhaba food is served with love.
Situated in the middle of nowhere with no network, life, or even road, this place comes as a rescue for all travelers. Located in the remote lcoation of Batal, between Kumzum Pass and Manali, this place had everything, serving fresh and hot rajama chawal or dal chawal or kadhi chawal, bread omellete, cold drinks, water, biscuits, maggi etc. The food served here is really delicious.
The couple is quite humble and holds a good sense of humor. Thanks to chacha and chachi for serving the amazing love, food, and helping the people in their journey.
It was a lovely experience @ CHACHA CHACHI DHABA. THEY ARE SO SWEET AND HONEST AND HARD WORKING AND LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST. CHACHAJI'S TERRIFIC SENSE OF HUMOUR
Chachi Chachi Dhaba is located between Kunzum Pass and Manali in Batal. This dhaba is in the middle of nowhere without any sign of life, network, any facilities and even road. All you can see here is Mountains covered under snow and a pathway of huge rocks right beneath you. At first glance it wasn't looking like any dhaba or restaurant, actually it was looking like a bunker. But the moment we stepped in my initial reaction was"Yaha Toh Mahfil Jami he" I was surprised to see a great and vibrant atmosphere in that dhaba there, it was fully packed with nearly 80 to 100 customers. That bunker lookalike dhaba had everything from food to energy drinks to biscuits and snacks etc. The food was really tasty especially the chutney with rajmah chawal. Since this is the only dhaba in the stretch of 90 km off-road I recommend you to eat here because the next destination where you will find any life or food will be 40 km Losar or 50 km manali area.
It’s a saving grace in the no man’s land. After Chandratal you can stock up food stuff here as the journey towards Manali will not get anything. Good aloo paratha ready at 6am! Pringles lays biscuit tea everything is there. The owner of the shop was amazing with smiles on his face. He gave us a overview of the road ahead. We did this trip on our polo gt.
One of the best place i have ever visited. Best for off road riding people. All the food items were available with affordable price. The food served with better quality and love. One of the best place to spend time in between Kaza-Rogtang La- Manali Route. All the necessary items were also available here
Stopped here for breakfast while going to chandratal and lunch while coming back. Enjoyed tasty food like parathas, rajma rice, bread omelette, tea along with their in-house spicy chutney. Would totally recommend. The price is reasonable for the offering.
I have never been more please then when I saw Chacha Chadhi ka Dhabha. We had left Chandratal Parking at 8pm, as there were no tents available to take for the night. Now it was a snow drive all the way in 1st gear and average speed of 10kmph, it was almost 9: 15pm and we are famished. The dhaba was full. We got hot tea, then noodles with scrambled egg in it at around 9: 30 and I think we were the last lot that was accepted by the owners. So for future reference I asked when do they close the dhaba, 9pm.
Great experience we had being there! We feel now why chacha chachi and their dhaba is so famous and a must visit. We enjoyed rajma chawal which is a staple food actually quite tasty and fulfilling. Everything on the menu they provide is fresh and perfect. You can feel their warmth. Chacha is full of fun! If you are travelling to Spiti do visit their dhaba
A sweet, warm and humble dhaba amidst the high soaring mountains of spiti valley. With the basic rajma chawal, dal rice, omlette, maggi and hot cup of tea, it hits you right at the spot when you take a pit stop from driving on tiring, rocky roads.
Amazing hospitality by Chacha chachi at Chandra dhaba, rajma chawal and kadi is the best dish available. The simplicity of the couple is heartwarming. Must visit place in Batal.
This place would give the 5 star restaurants a run for their money. Dont get me wrong its not that it has the better food, better ambience or better service.but just the experience of this place is amazing. At such an high altitude you get the delicious meal which would fill up your appetite perfectly
Bodh Dorjee and wife Hishe Chhomo, fondly known as Chacha Chachi among the locals and visitors, are the first to arrive at Batal, when the roads open after chilly winters. And are last to leave at the dawn of winters. The old couple has been running this dhaba for 45 long years now.
It's a well known and popular place to halt while on your way to Chandrataal / Manali.
Chacha & Chachi is a life saver for the tourists stuck here during the winters or for any other reasons. There are several instances where they went out of the box and helped out the needy and have recieved several awards from govt for such bravery and help.
Both Chacha and Chachi is so humble, warm, welcoming and jolly in nature.
The food you get here at such a remote destination is exceptional and outstanding.
This dhaba is on way from kaza to manali. One will rarely find any eatery on way between this route but thanks to this chacha chachi dhaba in batal, serving the amazing love, food, and helping the people in their journey. The couple is quite humble and hold good sense of humour. Serves variety of things from rice, partha, snacks, maggi etc. They also provide lodging. The couple had received various awards including one from president of India itself for the marvellous service to humankind in such hard terrain. Loved the place ️️️️
No need to say it's a must visit place. You have to stop here to satisfy your appetite, either you are coming from Kaza or Manali. Chacha Chachi are such a wonderful hosts. Be it Maggi, Razma Rice or dal rice, it's so homely. And a tea at such a place.
It's a life saver in manali kaza route. I was experiencing altitude sickness during my bike ride from manali to kaza chacha chachi dhaba came as a relief for me in the journey but the tent was a bit expensive
Famous chacha chachi dhaba. Located on the road of Manali to kaza and kaza to Manali this is the only point after loser to Manali or Manal to loser. Chacha is a lovable person. And the place is very good they have very nice setting arrangement. You can sit and straight you back and relax.
Very nice place amid this desert area. Almost a heaven if u r hungry nd can't find any other place to dine over hundreds of kilometers. Very kind service nd that at a very low cost. In view of this place, facilities r also awsome. Managed by an old nd sweet couple, in real terms better to call them saviours of life in this area. Rajma Chawal is a must try so is it's maggi. Overwhelmingly delicious.
Very cozy dhaba. Set up on remote place to provide food for travellers. They offer delicious dal chawal, Maggi, juices and biscuits. Very nice people there. View is amazing too. We stopped there on our way to Spiti valley via Manali.
Amazing facilities in such remote place. The tents are very great with enough facility like washroom, two lights & enough warm blankets for five people. Also the foods are warm & tasty considering the place. The cost is very low. We stayed for RS 800 per person including dinner & breakfast. They have warm water, tea and even cold drinks. The camp fire was awesome!
Such a small cozy beautiful place in such a harsh terrain. Like an oasis in the desert. Owner Mr. Dorjing (hope I spelled correctly) is popular among the bikers who take that road. Hot paratha, dhal chaval, Maggie, bread omlet, omlet, tea etc are served. Owner is jovial. Chips, tissue rolls, snacks, juice everything is sold here. As usual at a higher cost (acceptable considering their transportation charges bringing them to that place). I think people do remember the shock when they hear they bill for the first time. If it's 80rs he tells 800.just for fun. Go.and.meet the happy people if you go to kibber from. Manali
Famous Chandra Dhaba, also known as Chacha Chachi Dhaba, in Batal, in the remote area of Lahaul and Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh State, northern India, 28 July 2018. The famous eatery joint is the only one catering to tourists in the remote area. It is open for four months only as the roads become inaccessible during Winter due to the snow. The couple who runs the Dhaba, are lovingly called by the visitors as Chacha and Chachi
It's amazing place to stop in between Manali and kaza village in Himachal Pradesh. You will be served good food, rice, dal, Maggi noodles and egg omelette, nice Snacks. They charge decent for the products.
Amazing couple who runs this dabha. The host is really good and they take care of their customers well. This dhaba is the first thing you ll notice as you reach Batal after crossing the Batal Bridge. They serve amazing food under the minus temperature. We were almost so late to reach Batal and the lady assured us to provide a roof for us to sleep in and she did get us a place for the night. And they did have rum stocked, and it was overpriced (around 100-200 rs) but that was a life saver. And the sun rise is really fantastic, it slowly lights up the mountains and its so dreamy to watch.
Wonderful place great people. Very generous and kind Chacha & Chachi hotel in batal on the way to chandrtal lake. This place is located on Manali to Kaza route which is very remote and rigid area roads are too bad to drive. But fortunately this is the place where you can stay. No network nothing is there only chacha & chachi can help you in this area so if you stuck anytime in this place reach anyhow to them they will surely help you out. Also they are so kind they charges a very few amount of money on this survival place. They got many awards from government to serving people on this place many times. It's a very dangerous place if sun sets on this route you should reach here & stay for the night. I stayed there in October 2017 when I stuck on this route towards Kaza from Manali and the food lodging, breakfast everything I got here only at 385/- rupees which is nothing compare to other hotels. This is a hard place temperature goes down in night hoti -20 degrees thank God chacha chachi to helping people here. A big thanks to them.
