Chhatru Campsite

यदि आप मनाली से काजा जाना चाहते है तो आप के पास कम से कम suv गाड़ी होनी चाहिए क्योंकि इस रूट पर कही भी सड़क नही है और रास्ते में बहुत ज्यादा नाले पड़ते है जिन्हे पार करना काफी मुश्किल होता है और ना ही यहा पर मोबाइल का नेटवर्क काम करता है बाकी रास्ते मे आपको देखने के लिए काफी अच्छे व्यू मिलेंगे

Last camp site of Hampta Pass trekking. Here you can get food. If you are willing to go back to Manali you can get a bus around 11: 00am to 12: 00pm, otherwise you have to hire a private car.

Chhatru is a Major halt pace between manali and kaza or chandrataal approx 12000 feet height, and a Major camping destination for Hampta pass and Chandratal trekkers stay, only batal left if you miss chhatru on the way to kaza, on these 2 places only you can have ample food items available for you, so don't miss this place a new bridge constructed here, it's a picturesque place and previous old bridge was very beautiful which become very old now,

Almost 4 years ago we camped here while on the way to spiti.its a good shelter for this harsh cold climate.toilet facilities is not there.and one dhaba named 'Kunzum Dhaba' is there to serve you.

Awesome place after rohtang pass this is the place where u can have meal and other facilities.

Chatru – The place of Bouldering

Stashed away disguised in the boundless expanses of the bumpy Himalayas, a miniature hamlet Chatru emerges like an oasis in between the high altitude and cold desert of Spiti in Himachal Pradesh. It lies further in Spiti valley which is about 85 km from Manali. Chatru has a population of about 120 and is at a height of 11,100ft. It is a stopover for people going to Kaza in Spiti Valley. This small village only has three dhabas and Chandra’s Dhaba is the place for climbers. The temperature would drop to about 2 – 3 degree Celsius in the night, but mornings were cool and bearable. We camped here with Kailashrath team near the Chandra river.

Bouldering in Chatru

The surrounding area of Chatru Village is full of boulders which offers perfect bouldering options. One can drive to Chatra with the climbing gear and spend a quality time bouldering and camping beside the Chandra River. If you want more options then Chota Dara and Bara Shigri Glaciers offers much variety in of boulders in terms of difficulty level.

Chataru is a main point to Chandrataal Lake. A beautiful, scenario and atmosphere. There are two to three dhabas, small hotels where traveler can take refreshments and also can accommodate in night. Long ago chatru was a buddhist monestry place, as we can see lots of old ruined / destroyed structures there. Best place for freshness of mind and body. In snow time no one stay here and also no way to chandrataal.
