Class is what defines The Clarks Hotel Shimla. One of the oldest in Shimla was and still meant to be a Hotel for the Most Elegant, sophisticated and who's who of The erstwhile British and the then Indian Gentry, a place. Which has seen much history and made many.
The place has and is still known to be one of the favourites of Top Politicians erstnwhile privy purses and film stars both foreign and Indian, a host to many a Miss Shimla and other cultural concerts, state and international level meets too.only the most elegant and cultured were and still seen to be the guests there.

Great food and beverages served in the most elegant and sophisticated way even much before the five star culture crept into the Indian hospitality
They had an amazing collection of both Indian and Imported drinks and quite good pallette even for a discrete guest.

The wood work and the luxury is unique only to this Clarks Hotel though Oberois' have such beautiful boutique and chain hotels to offer.

Rooms luxurious but the Bar and the Banquet takes the cake

Loved the entire experience. Felt very royal. The 120-year-old property has been very well- maintained. Excellent location, amazing hospitality, prompt room service, super helpful staff, and not-to-forget the excellent breakfast buffet. We can’t wait to come back here again.

Customer dealing and the yummy food made me give them 5 star. Got Indian, Continental and Chinese cuisine menu. Good ambience set out out in restaurant and entire hotel. Feels like you are at a different country, kind of British culture.

Loved staying at this Heritage hotel. It was very clean and few metres from mall road, easy access to everywhere.the staff was very polite and received us as if we were in a palace. It was a very splendid experience.

This is Hotel with a lot history. It is named on the actual owner before Mr Oberoi bought it, as a gratitude to Mr Clarke who sold this hotel to Mr. Oberoi, who started his journey of Oberoi Hotels from here.
Totally old Architecture maintained as it is as it was.
Staff is very cordial. Rooms are divided into 4 categories. Superior has no windows. Deluxe has windows. Premier has just one or 2 extra windows. Suite room is just extra large. We stayed in Deluxe room with valley view. It was good enough same as Premier.
It is located on Mall Road, Church is just 700-800 mtr away.its Parking is just in front of HP High Court.

Breakfast was nice.cheese Masala omelet is the best I have ever tested anywhere, may be due to the quality of cheese.
Option in juice need to be changed.only one mixed fruit juice was there. Bakery section also need some improvement. Croissant, danish pastries was not good.

Overall stay was comfortable.

One of oldest property in Shimla, very well maintained. British era Hotel, and the hospitality starts right from Reception area. I like the Road slope leading the entrance. Excellent food, efficient, courteous staff. The post will b incomplete, without mentioning the outdoor sitting areas. It's difficult to maintain gardens in Shimla, but lush green walks along stairs, and flowers everywhere in coming season. Keep up Management and staff, u r excellent.

I stayed at the Clarkes, Shimla with my family this week. I'm truly impressed and would highly recommend this place.
Its a beautifully maintained heritage boutique property owned by the oberoi group. You get a 5star feel but at reasonable price.
1) All the staff are outstanding - Courteous, Prompt, Efficient. You're made to feel special and like family. I've been to many 5stars but the level of service here is outstanding and a cut above.

2) The property is 122 years old, a boutique heritage hotel. Well maintained and comfortable. We felt transported back to the old Era. Quaint rooms with beautiful views.

3) The rooms are huge. We took a suite for a family of 4. It was almost like a 1bedroom apartment size.

4) Location is amazing. Right at the mall road but at a place where you don't find too much rush. If you want to enjoy Shimla and Mall road, this is the right place.

The staff was warm and very helpful. They even offered us hot water bottles for the night as we visited during Christmas time. Enough toiletries and amenities inside the room were present as we checked in.
They made every effort to make the stay comfortable.
Only thing we noticed was, the atmosphere was dull even though it was nearing the new year period, so 4 star for it.

Apologies for Long post but Clarkes deserve one: You would find many hotels that match the services and architecture of a 5-star but none can match the hospitality of Clarkes. This is probably the best hotel worldwide which has an unbeatable hospitality, wheee you are treated like a family and your are looked after like a family.

LOCATION: Located right on the Mall Road, this is a perfect hotel if you want to stay on central Shimla and enjoy the best hotel. It is walking distance from many cafes and shopping outlets.

FOOD: one of the finest foods I ate in Shimla, the buffet breakfast is amazing with good variety. The best part is Roshan ji, he is a senior veteran on the kitchen and takes care of you like you are their own sons and daughters. He ensured fresh hot food every time we went. The manager Kolukho and Roshan ji took our trip to another level with their care and warm smile.

Also, MUST try is their Himachali dinner served by local chefs and another veterans Puran ji and Dhani ji, this is hands down one of the best Himachali foods you will find on Mall Road. Try their thali (veg and non-veg both are stellar)

HOSPITALITY: right from front desk to checkout every aspect was well taken care of and well catered to, a big shout out to Meena, Rohan and Leadership of Rohit of making this possible. These are the front faces and I am sure it was their bigger team that worked round the clock.

It's the best property I have ever stayed. The property is very cute and the hospitality is just next level. You will feel at home & welcomed all the time. They actually care for you. Never knew it was an Oberoi Property till we booked it. Jyoti and the Team took great care of us. They even booked a visit and show at Cecil and Wildflower at Kufri and we were entertained because we were in house guests at Cecil. The food was fresh and awesome. The best thing about the property is that it is at the heart of the location, the Mall Road where everything is just near by. Looking forward to this property again before I die. Beautiful hotel. I must appreciate the staff and management. Very well trained staff is there. Sweet in behaviour. Rooms are well maintained and room service is quite nice. Cleanliness is properly maintained here. One of the best hotels in the city. Located near HC and easy to reach there. Accessible by road and more beautiful at night.

We were upgraded to a suite, which was excellent. Hot water bottles in the bed, good bar, restaurant normal, clean, good staff, friendly. Place has character.

One of the most beautiful and rich in heritage hotels I've been. Very traditional British architecture with rich British ambience and world class staff. I've traveled around the globe and seen 5* or 7* hotels but the service what you kat experience in this hotel sets it completely apart. A truly Oberoi class i must say. Food quality is excellent and reasonable. Location is what you can dream of, just on Mall road but with no fuss of crowd. A must stay if your visiting shimla for vacation anytime during the year. I would say this is a boutique hotel with some 35 odd rooms.

Such a Excellent hotel in Shimla to stay with family. The price paid is fully worth it. There are facilities like gym, spa, gardens, parks, and many more. The rooms are very clean and beautiful to stay. There are services like television, room service, etc. The room service is very nice and instantaneous to help you out. Heaters, geazers, etc are also available. The staff is nice and very polite.

After a Long and winding car rite from Chandigarh airport, we were delightfully welcomed by the friendly and trained staff of Clarke’s Hotel, including the GM, Ms Pooja Bhondekar. All the motion sickness vanished instantly by the refreshing Apple Juice (apples are local produced of Shimla). Seamless checkin procedure and the room was bigger than our expectations.

Tuck at the beginning of The Mall street (ala shopping street of Shimla), it has a bird eye view of the town and valley. Gorgeous
Breakfast was 5, thanks to Ms Parichehr’s attention to details and wonderful personality?
Due to the cold weather, turn-down Housekeeping includes water-warmer bag between the sheets, how thoughtful.
There’s a simple Lounge equipped with basic bar, serves cocktails to your room.
Carpark is at the bottom of the hotel via many flight of stairs, luckily there’s Porter to the rescue‍️
Overall experience is beyond satisfaction. Keep up with the good work everyone at Clarke’s Hotel Shimla.

I am a resident of shimla and today visited Clarkes for a casual lunch with my parents and I am very much pleased with their hospitality and behaviour. The dinning experience was also nice. I specially liked their Nasi Goreng which the eminent chief informed us is an Indonesian fried rice. Their dessert collection is also worth mentioning and since my mother and I have a sweet tooth we ended up having warm apple tart with vanilla ice cream that was also worth trying.
Overall a warm and wonderful experience. Looking forward to dine here once again

One of the best hotels available at the heart of Shimla. But definitely on a costlier side infact very costly. But the overall stay there in is very comfortable and Yes the ambience along with the food provided is super delicois. If budget is not a constraint then it's a must visit and must stay in the hotel

Luxurious place but price is expensive. Its staff were mostly prompt and helpful in service. It's very conveniently located.

It's the Class! Their exteriors are attraction in Mall road, so you can think of Interiors. It's on the real Mall Road, but you have to afford it, we could not!

Rates of food are little bit high but they serve tasty quality food. Also restaurant is nive and clean as expected.

The best stay of my life. Visited with friend and the best part is that we got our room upgraded to the suite rooms and woov what a feel. King of the world. Such amazing ppl. Including the manager who is a super friendly lady.
